I would love to do paizo con one of these years, definitely not this year. Logistically, gen con is perfect for things like vacation days for me because it falls a month after the July 4th holiday. Our plant gets a week of holiday during that time, but due to the nature of my job, I am often working through that holiday week. So I get comp days. Which means I can use those days to go to gen con without actually using my vacation days. If I did paizo con, I would have to use vacation days... Not impossible, but would require more planning with the wife and family. The rest is just about money, and that's just budgeting, definitely not impossible at some point, just not going to work out this year. My sister also just got engaged. She lives in London.... So next year I might not be doing any extra trips if we are going to London for a destination wedding. -Posted with Wayfinder

Visiting friends and relatives this weekend, so very limited posting.. All I know is I want Amaranti becoming a seeker along with the rest of the Drongos. If there's a new seeker arc coming, I'm sure interested. But if it looks uncertain or way too far in the future, I'm cool with EotT as well. This is pretty much exactly my line of thinking. We have some time before we get there, and at gen con we can get Mikko drunk and make him tell us all of the secret plans for pfs and modules. I just wanted to bring it up because I had been drinking the conspiracy kool-aid and that is what my brain cooked up. I've read about the wardens, and while it sounds fun on some level, I don't want to do it with the drongos. Perhaps another character. The prospect of a new seeker arc would be enough for me to want to wait for it to come out, should we actually hit 12 before it does. If we hit 12 and there are no immediate plans for a new seeker arc, then I would consider revisiting doing eott with Cyrus and the drongos. Just to clarify my thoughts. We have at least 11 more scenarios to go, and at least a few at half speed for some of us to make sure we all end up at exactly level 12. I am with Damien, I would like to do all the season 7s with the drongos together. By the time we get close to level 12 they will be talking about season 8, so we should be able to hit them all. In general I don't like taking half credit because there are a limited amount of scenarios with which to get credit, but we can always consider going slow track for the purpose of fitting in some of the appropriate early season stuff to get introduced to the characters in the big story. I had a bug today that I would create a "road map" for the drongos to get to 12, just haven't gotten to it yet. For the lower level scenarios, I would be happy to take the alts through, or give the alts to John or whoever to run some scenarios. Of the four you suggested I have played three, the only one I haven't played is frozen fingers. Errrr..... More later. -Posted with Wayfinder

For the rant, I just wanted them to see that pbp drives sales, and therefore should be treated with an urgency to match. Maybe they have that urgency, but being so coy and secretive about it is frustrating to the customer. As customers, we want to believe that it's all going to be perfect and amazing. That was all a really long way to say yes, I think pfs can be just as good as an ap when you have the group of players that John is talking about, players that have similar styles and a desire to tell a story. -Posted with Wayfinder
Same thoughts from me. I think it's less about the campaign and more about the characters. I've always thought of pfs as like a weekly sitcom/drama. The individual stories are different and entertaining in their own way, but the common thread of character development and interaction that happens in the background is what makes it awesome. When you have a group like ours then we can use those interactions as well as the influences of the scenarios to give some spice and course correction to the character's overall story. The storm in the throaty mermaid game didn't change Cyrus and Ibid's backstory, but it gave us a chance to throw done hints out and use the experience to color the relationship between the two characters. One other thing I am excited about as we continue this story with everyone in this group is how we can incorporate everyone into the story as it moves forward. Amaranti, lort, miro, finarin, binaries, and even done of the less used characters like faustus can pay a role in how Cyrus chooses to deal with this. And none of it really has anything to do with any pfs scenario, except for how we let it color the ongoing story. I kinda rambled there... So I struggle with my PbP load constantly. The player in me wants to add more games because I want something to read everyone I check. The realist in me knows that there is a level where it is unsustainable, and posting quality suffers. I am really enjoying GMing this game, and I expect I will be doing more of it, though probably for our group only moving forward, for the near future anyways. Damien is right on, if you didn't tell me I wouldn't know they are newbies, they really latched on to it. Makes it a lot of fun to GM. Kajar is coming along, like a super tanker. Just takes those things done time to get moving. I love his persistence, and he seems like he is seeking to get better and learn more. That is so awesome about finishing another AP on here. Our RoW game is chugging along at full tilt and I am loving it. All of this together is making me a better gamer, I can tell the difference. Random thought...
