I have only Amaranti and Lady Drusilla in the scenario's tier, and the latter will be playing a Siege of Serpents. So if you'll be playing subtier 6-7, Amaranti could come along
I think that everyone is 4/5, so I am not sure what the APL will be. If it comes out to APL 5, then we play the Tier 6-7 with the 4 party adjustment and you should be good to go. I plan on running it quicker just because it is a bit of a streamlined adventure.

Technic Siege gameplay is open. Drongo's, feel free to dot in.
@John: Amaranti being lvl 7 will easily rock the boat towards tier 6-7. Both if it would take APL over exactly 5, playing 6-7 without the 4 party modifier might be bit too fatal for the level-fours. So I can can wait some to see what will the APL be.
@Deussu: Would you happen to have a kid who has just started daycare this fall? Sounds just like what the children bring back home on their first year...

Amazing family weekend. Two zoos (Two Zoo Boos to be specific), The Lions sucked but didn't lose!
HOLY $&%^^#ING BALLS THAT MICHIGAN STATE GAME WAS NUTS!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!!
And my daughter desperately wanted to be a Ninja for Halloween. [fist pump] So she gets what she wants. Costume looks pretty good too... Next year I think we are going to try to dress up as pathfinder iconics for halloween - Lexi thought the Iconic Ninja was the coolest thing ever.
I am grateful for the slow weekend, I hope everyone else is as recharged as I am. I am traveling for work this week, and so posting may be irregular. Daily posting will not be interrupted, unless something goes haywire with hotel internet, but I highly doubt that. Even then, I will still have my phone.

What a whirlwind of a week, and a weekend. It was great having Lort... I mean Damien... come up to play at table #150! We had a great time! We even managed to complete the scenario (The Stranger Within).
Then, a great night on the town, and then culminated by playing The Immortal Conundrum with Lort and Gunari once more. Lort managed to get himself killed by trying to cheat on something (Lort, definitely not Damien)... though Allandar (Keith Apperson's warpriest) was able to save him.
More than once John Dehning (our wonderful GM) asked, "Are you really doing that?" to which I could only reply, "Of course!", usually as Gunari blundered through another door, or whatever.
Thanks Everyone!

Congrats Jack! No s@#@. He really died? Wow.
In other fun news I screwed my knee up something bad training yesterday with my daughter for a Midnight Mile run her school does. Hopefully it is just a ligament strain, but might affect my posting somewhat until I can figure out what is wrong with it. I have traveled a total of 45 feet today. But I did get Finarin leveled and worked on some GM stuff. Watched my beloved Bears lose to Steve/Lockwood's lucky Lions. At least they are better than Jack's Vikings.

Stupid airport WiFi...
Whaaa? Lort died? I expect a full report in the zedroom.... :)
@John - I was still on such a high from that Michigan state win I tried to pay as little attention as possible to the lions. Still couldn't help myself once in a while, but we spent the day at the zoo. Much better use of time imo....

Yeah, so...
There was this party. Looking to be a very boring party. Lort wanted to make sure that he could get his weapon out (because, as he told his hostess - something always goes wrong... at least, that's been Lort's experience with Pathfinder parties).
Anyway... Lort, sleight of hand, armor check penalty... Jon the GM (who was awesome - you Minnesotans are so freakin' spoiled) told me after that Lort's total was -3. So they confiscated his greatsword.
So then, when we were at dinner, and shït hit the fan, Lort was seated and completely unarmed. He decided to remain seated and attack the monk / rogue / whatever unarmed specialist who was sneak attacking him previously. Lort attacks with his own guantlet. The rogue gets an AoO, crits and all of a sudden, Lort is on below half HP and does a measly 14 damage. This other guy says "want my blade instead?". Lort thinks... hmm... two handed wield so better damage bonus, no AoO with that... so, yeah, let's go! Meanwhile, an identical fūcker comes along and flanks with his mate. Sneak attack central. Lort, at this point, is still seated - and doesn't want to get up now because he'd provoke twin AoOs. He retrieves the weapon. Because he's not drawing it, twin AoOs. FFS. He attacks (no AoO!) but it's a gladius. Light weapon. Can't wield two handed. FFS.
Next round, twin sneak attacks (because Gunari and Allindar are the only one doing anything useful... Allindar dropping the third rogue, Gunari keeping the mini-BBEG completely under wraps with a domain power... so sweet - I'll let Jack talk about that). So, Lort, still sitting down, gets two sneak attacks on him... takes him to -16. He's only got a 14 Con. Dead... drops his useless gladius... and doesn't fall prone (he's in a chair already!).
Two seconds later, Allindar (who I love) casts his scroll of breath of life (an act of kindness that I will never be able to repay... especially when one considers that I had previously passed out on top of the guy playing Allindar during the day before's scenario... there's a photo going around Minnesota somewhere)... Lort is back up, and on the chair. Stabs himself with his cure serious medlance for a move action, and then punches the rogue again... AoO... but eventually someone with common sense sorted it out.
Oh, and we now have a new "Lorting" it. Got these fūcking Pathfinder dice (Q-Workshop ones). They're cool looking, but you can't read the damn things. Rolled a 2. FFS. Turns out, it was a 20, but the "0" is very, very heavily concealed behind the 2. I have previously rolled those dice and interpreted the picture as a "1". Turns out, it's a 20 also. So yeah... misreading your own dice to rob yourself of a 20. Lorting it. Rolling 9-10 1s and 2s in a row. Totally Lorted it.
In summary, there were any number of things going wrong to kill Lort, but it all started when Lort decided he was going to attempt a sleight of hand check.

I don't do the Facebook thing (I have an account, but none of these guys are my friends on it - that I'm aware of). Is there chance you could just upload the image here?

Thanks mate!

So, it wasn't the domain power (blessing) that did it, it was a well timed use of calm emotions, a spell that Jon himself showed me in all of its glory. So, the obvious assassin that was going to kill our host was just hanging out, acting all "Hey, man. Its cool. I am just gonna stand here and look at her. But I don't want to fight right now. Its all cool."
Of course, that took Gunari out of the fight, which is ok, 'cause he was locking the bad guy down.
Now, however, as I had the count... Gunari dropped the final two critters... not the temporarily dead Lort.

Now, however, as I had the count... Gunari dropped the final two critters... not the temporarily dead Lort.
Only because the whiny rogue kept on demanding a flank and then got in my way so I couldn't 5ft step up to the bad-guy with my haste active... but yes, Gunari smashed it in combat! In all honesty, I've been curious to see if I could do a cleric fighter > warpriest... but I just don't think I can. Warpriest is superior in almost every way... add in a single level of fighter for a bonus feat and some weapon proficiencies, and it's all over red rover.
Still, Lort's great fun!

![]() |

Maybe we need to chip in and buy the big guy a decent set of dice?
Warpriest are pretty damned good... they are in competition with Inquisitors on pure power. That, and Bloodragers, I am told. I also now feel that Greater Weapon of the Chosen is worth it, especially with a 15-20 crit range weapon! Add in some tasty vital strike, and BOOM!
Oh, and at 9th he will be taking Weapon Specialization (Rapier).

So this is what maple bacon bourbon does to people? No wonder you're always so enthusiastic about it :)

No maple bacon bourbon this time.
There was a good deal of bourbon though. And a lot of other really good food and drink!
But, Jyri, if you're ever gonna be in town, I will make sure to have some ready for you!

Ah. This reminds me. I'm hosting Jack this week. Yes, 'hosting' is a strong word, but he's coming to SF.
While I doubt we'll have a better image than the one above, I can strangely promise less overt depictions of male prostitutes debauchery and turpitude in any come out of this week.
Gah. I'll need to prep my liver for suffering.

Hey y'all! How's it going?
Just wanted to mention that you should play this scenario later this year: Ancients' Anguish.
Oh, and are you guys going to Gen Con in 2016? Sorry if you already discussed it upthread and I missed it. I've really been thinking about it and now I'm about 75% sure I'm going.
Karma, are you going to Tracon hitpoint in Tampere? I'll probably be GMing the scenario on Friday that weekend. Remains to be seen.
Lockwood, what's new? :)

christopher lockwood |

Hey Mikko, thanks for checking in, dude. A new scenario, that's great news, I can't wait to play it! Like Damien mentioned above, we're going to try and do gencon again, that's the plan so far. We can keep you updated if anything changes, but it'd be cool if we all could meet up next year.
As for me, nothing much is new. I'm a pretty boring dude :)

![]() |

Sure, Damien, forget about me in that mix. I'll be there as well (GenCon 2016). Looking forward to it as well. Mikko, let us know, and we'll make sure to have a group to play at your table, if you are GMing.!
Or, you should join us at a table playing? Or both!
Congrats on the scenario... Can't wait to play/run it!

![]() |

Jack, you don't have plans to go: you will go! ;-) Sorry for missing you out, buddy.
Of course I will go. Gots to represent the Minnesota contingent... we've got a reputation to uphold! And you'd best work on your training regimen... napping with the lightweight (who is also in training) is not permissible in Indy! :D

![]() |

I can add that if I am lucky enough to make it gencon 2016, there will be more napping for me this time around. I can't keep up with all you youngsters and your late nights :)
Youngsters?
I think I have you by over a decade, Lockwood!
