About Wilmannator
Life is too short to spend it playing in a crappy PbP. Play in a great one instead. Can't find one? Run one.
-- From the musings of Damien and Jyri.
I'm a roleplayer from way, way, way back. Been playing for over 20 years. I started in earnest on AD&D 2nd Edition and have mainly played D&D ever since... until Pathfinder, of course! Man, can't tell you how much I prefer Pathfinder to 4th Ed or 5th Ed.
I was almost exclusively a face-to-face tabletop gamer while I lived in Australia (where I was born) until a few years ago when I moved to Houston (following my wife's career instead of my own, and becoming a stay at home dad). It's not that the gaming community doesn't thrive over here, I just miss my mates - so we play over Google+ (occasionally with Roll20... but mostly we prefer not to and just use Google Drive to share maps, etc).
To fill in the time I do have, I gave Play-by-Post a go... and I'm f*cking loving it. Got a fantastic group of players that I'm playing with and it's only getting better with every post we post.
So, while Pathfinder is my clear most commonly played game, I also play and have played many others... some of my preferred others include:
- AD&D 1st Ed (amazingly old school)
- Call of Cthulhu (6th Ed, naturally)
- Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (1st & 2nd Ed - later editions can bite me)
- Dark Heresy
- Vampire: The Masquerade (2nd Ed)
- Savage Worlds
- Paranoia
- Ravenloft (D&D I know, but when run by my good friend and Ravenloft writer Ryan Naylor, it's a game system unto itself).
