I would feel bad abandoning Hakak at this point :D I think Selia would trust that her other divine friends would be able to take care of Ameiko for the moment.

Ameiko does need healing ... not sure if that was clear for you guys. In rules-speak, she's below 0 hp.

Do you have a barf bag to go with that band-aid because if we stay down here in these little halls much longer Hakak might need it.

Little halls? What're you talking about? These corridors are huge - room to walk two or maybe three abreast, ceilings so tall I can barely see them...

[Noon, Under Sandpoint Glassworks, Third Day After Goblin Raid]

Ameiko’s eyes flutter open, and she inhales deeply after bathing in the healing glow of Nicholae’s prayer. “Tsuto?” her face darkens at Jubrayl’s question and the tears flow. “I never thought he was capable of such an awful betrayal.

“The raid, father’s murder, the … the dead people upstairs. He let all this happen. He’s in love with some woman encamped within Thistletop, where she rules the goblin tribe there, along with a few other mercenaries. They’re planning something big for the town and it’s not good. Tsuto wanted to me come with him to Thistletop, to escape Sandpoint’s coming slaughter, but I refused and slapped him. And, that really made him angry. He set his goblins on me, and I thought I’d die.

“You’ve got to stop these people. They’ve got a demon ally, here in town, or under it. My brother mentioned her being someplace inside the old smuggling tunnel which lies just down the hall. But, he was raving like a madman by then, and then the goblins were on me.”

Ameiko shudders at the thought and begins to weep once more.

(NOTE: At the mention of the smuggling tunnel, Ameiko is pointing towards the first of the two doors you passed on the way to this storage room. The 2nd door is pretty much the same as this door; I should have mentioned details around this first door earlier. The door is loose, without hinges, and leans up against a wall which was recently burst through, thus the reason for masonry rubble in that corner of the hall. It might be helpful to see this older image again, if my description is lacking:

Jubrayl kneels down next to Ameiko, looking concerned. He's working with a demon? Don't worry, we'll protect the town. You take care of yourself right now, all right? Hakak, Celia, can you take her upstairs and outside? And get someone to call the Father, she may need more mdeical attention. We won't get into much trouble until you get back. Lleidr, Ned, could you check the door, please?

Nicholae heads the new tunnel, still with shinning shield and sword raised.

Guys, I left out another somewhat significant detail ... Ameiko's answer to Jub's question.

She pointed to the 2nd door in response. I meant to tell you, "I think he fell asleep in there."

Sorry!

There's no noise at the first door, nor anything else remarkable about it, other than it's not so much a door, but rather like a lid over a hole in the wall.

Selia, prepared to grab Ameiko, can't help but laugh at the look on her face when Hakak grabs her. "Despite the gravity of this situation, I can't help but find amusement in this groups' antics."

She pulls her crossbow back out and follows Nicholae to the hole.

[Noon, Under Sandpoint Glassworks, Third Day After Goblin Raid]

Beyond the crude entrance recently created by smashing through the bricked wall, you spy a small square chamber, apparently empty. Along it’s back wall is a smooth, well worn-tunnel worming its way through the bedrock underneath Sandpoint. You don’t need Ned’s skill to note dozens of goblin footprints pressed into the dust suggesting travel to and from this room.

As Hakak carries Ameiko upstairs, she asks, “Wait! Do you know if Tsuto has left? He’s very dangerous. You must be more careful than I was.”

(NOTE: I realize the token placement isn’t accurate, since some of you are headed topside, but this is just a quick print-screen.)

Nicholae shakes his head for a moment to clear his thoughts, his burning need for immediate retribution now being overcome with common sense.

Very well, we'll wait for everyone and do this right.

When Hakak reaches the fresh air, outside the door he had entered from, he gives a huge sigh of relief. He grabs the first able bodied man he can find and hands him Ameiko saying "Bring her to the church to see the Father, she is badly hurt and needs his help. He'll know what to do. Now hurry, off with you." As soon as the man turns to and runs off Hakak takes a couple deep breaths to settle his nurves and runs back to join the group. "Did I miss anything?"

The tunnel winds its way north-east for several minutes through the bare rock, well over 1500 feet in length, you'd guess, before coming to a dead-end.

What do the footprints do?

The footprints both come and go from the direction of the blank wall, which cannily hides a door disguised within the rock.

The door leads into a 30' diameter, smooth cave, on the side of a cliff, overlooking the water. The mouth of the cave slopes down to a narrow beach. Scattered all over the cave mouth you see evidence of goblins: bedrolls of their size and revolting remnants of their meals.

On the southern half, there are 2 side tunnels that branch off, one going east and one going west. No one can find evidence of tracks, goblin or otherwise, for either of these side tunnels.

I'm struggling a bit with the description in the text of this tunnel; I don't see how it can possibly be 1500+ feet, so for now, just ignore that. It's not nearly that long.

Here's an image that might be useful for you:

tunnel

And, it seems impossible that the side branches can be on the south of this beach cave .. they'd have to be on the north side as well. By the way, the western branch appears to have been bricked up at one point, but the masonry has been smashed apart.

Init +2|AC15(17)/Touch10/Flatfoot15|CMD 12||HP 13[13]| Fort:+4 ;Ref:+0 ;Wil:+5|Percept +9/Sense Motive +9. Longsword +10 1d8+4 CMB +6 Channel (4d6) l 0/[3] Male Half Varisian Human Cleric of Iomadae/1 (Favoured Class)

What the hells? Where does this lead?, Nicholae moves to examine the area where the masonry is smashed up.

Your divine light pushes the shadows back, revealing a passage that continues to the west, but showing a slight angle to the north towards the end of your light's range.

Guys, please bear with me. I just figured out how the layout for this old tunnel is supposed to run.

tunnel

The dead-end does run for over 1500 feet, and by your reckoning, spills out onto the Varisian Gulf at a point beyond the North Gate. However, there were 2 branching tunnels on the way; one to the east and one to the west.

And, as stated before, the one to the west was bricked shut sometime in the past, but that masonry has been torn down and smashed apart. So, if you click the link above, right now, you are at the first left-hand turn, peering into the west-ward branch of the tunnel.

Ranger (guide) 8| AC 18(22) | HP 86/86

Ned will examine the floor of the western tunnel for tracks.

Go ahead and roll your HP normally, but if the roll is < half, re-roll.

[Mid Afternoon, Under Sandpoint Glassworks, Third Day After Goblin Raid]

As you pass through the tunnel on the left, the passage soon curves from west to north. There’s no evidence of any recent passage through this area, just the occasional goblin track and some kind of unidentifiable footprint. After following the passage’s curve for some distance, you’re aware of two side passages that branch out off the right hand wall.

Tunnel

(NOTE - this may be important later. Is your only light source Nicholae's Light spell cast on his shield? You know in this modern age, what's the first rule of caving? Always, always carry 2 light sources and a back-up. That, and never travel alone.)

It's the only lit one right now, but Jubrayl and probably Selia can cast something as well, and Hakak and Jubrayl have Darkvision.

Ned has a torch but hasn't lit it.
