Game Day VII session 2 begins Saturday, October 6th. The pre-game show starts now.:
Several years ago, rebellion in the seaside town of Pezzack resulted in a Chelish blockade to slowly starve the rioters into submission. Since then few have entered or left, trapping the increasingly desperate citizens with little with which to repair their broken homes and eke out a living. When the Society learns that an important informant still lives in the ruined town, the PCs must smuggle themselves into Pezzack, navigate the devastated urban landscape, and extract their contact—all without igniting a new rebellion and inviting Cheliax’s unfettered wrath.

Content in “Out of Anarchy” contributes to the ongoing story-line of the Dark Archive and Liberty’s Edge factions.

Is this still the same day as last time, or have my powers been refreshed?

Deep-sea parasites, Hell's human hounds, and mad Gnomish taxidermists aren't the only horrors haunting this grisly galleon. Something else has not been idle...

Round 1:

Candledark creeps down the blowhole...

Stealth (double-move at half-speed), Shadow Speaker: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24

Round 2:

...draws a slender wand of solid iridescent quartz shaped like a crescent moon, and concentrates upon it to generate a telekinetic shield before continuing to move at half-speed...

Round 3:

...and begins to dramatically accelerate though still sticking to half total speed for Stealth's sake as he begins to twist himself free of crude matter!

Round 3/4?:

Recorporealizing a tad now, but still moving rather like a thing unfamiliar with how space, time, gravity, and motion are supposed to work (half-speed for me now should be 25'), Candledark continues attempting to keep to the shadows of the whale carcass...

...when suddenly, it appears to the others that by some abyssal decree, now is a jolly-good time for the shifting-imaged Signifier on top of your collective asses to EXPLODE!

First off, Candledark can't realistically be topside unless he was planning on riding on the dorsal fin the whole way that and he would have encountered the harpooners and boarding party before round 1. But beyond the ship's sphincter I can't think of a more reasonable spot to shove him, so sure, he was above when the harpoons hit hiding behind the top fin.

He doesn't fall off the whale when is tugged to a stop by the men on the dock.

Waiting for his chance he moves to and climbs down the ladder. There's no place to hide on the rope ladder down and the inside of the Whale is lit enough to be considered bright if moody. He can't get to the floor though because there are people with quarterstaffs and readied actions waiting for him. So he delays 10' up to avoid attacks of opportunity and asks "Is this is a bad time?" Just then the second jolt comes as Poppo pulls away.

This time Candledark falls to the tongue at the feet of the two thugs taking no damage (the whale is a sort of bouncy castle). He refrains from pulling his wand because he might get hit and goes totally defensive.

By the next round the thugs are sufficiently man and dog handled that they are a minimal threat and Candledark, still on the floor, recovers his wand to cast shield.

Candledark takes two standard actions in round 3 (casts expeditious retreat and uses formless body ability). Looks like he can do that with something called formless spell. He is still prone, so he gets up.

Will save v glitterdust: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

He is blinded by the lights near the tail end of round three-ish. He still has actions and can make another save at the end of his turn.

The whale's sides expand outward, and then spring back into shape as smoke billows up from the blowhole.

The ship is suddenly alive with the noise of sailors and marines. Officers bark orders. Men with small, bright flags begin signalling the other ships in the blockade. They begin to come about. Gunners, and smart men with spyglasses begin to calculate ranges.

575 ducks the worst of the incoming inferno, though frowns as Olandil stumbles past towards the incoming zombie-creature... while still unable to see anything.

If he wanted to close the hatch, why'd he run way over there? Sheesh =)

Seeing no one else even moving to close the hatch, despite everyone's insistence it is of such import, he takes it upon himself! Grabbing the nearby rope, he hauls himself upwards with well trained haste, grabbing the portal, and slamming it shut!

Move action to fast climb up... then remaining standard to close the portal (or start closing it, if it takes more effort!)

Fast Climb: 1d20 + 9 - 5 ⇒ (15) + 9 - 5 = 19

Candledark becomes more illuminated than he though was possible and completely looses his cool.

Candledarkbot will (rage!): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 1 = 12

But it doesn't help the situation.

Poppo causes the whale to dip further into the bay. It's top scraping along the bottom of the Chelish ship above.

The Tiny squid-like aberration detaches itself from the remains of its useless flailing corpse--which instantly grows still and flops over on to Aiden's prone form.

With a scowl, he raises one heavily-booted foot, and stomps down on the thing, hard.

Corrections So Rowdy is at what? Technically, 1 hp and not down (though it looks like I neglected to list 3 points of previous damage for him--is that right Reg?) and Aiden is at precisely 0 and staggered. Now because Aiden was raging the last time I looked he doesn't actually fall nor drop his handheld items. And finally, Candledark has an action though I left him off the bold-list last time. Since both he and Aiden have connection issues, I'll give them a bit of time before moving on.

I'm not even going to say a thing about forgetting the arcanist's +3 damage bonus [intense spells] on the initial fireball. ;)
