Agazi Faustino |

Fi told Osric, Osric put it in the paper. Plus, there were witness to the event. Word gets around, especially about the Blessed.

Kallik Sisa |

Fair point though clearly the Temple doesn't care, not about much. Also you poked the Egret button. I am actually not sure how to resolve this situation with out PVP and I do not like that style of gaming.
Also I gotta go to work so it will be a while before i can jump back into this madness

Agazi Faustino |

Yeah, that's why he hasn't brought it up yet. He figured, if he can discredit Inam, the rest of you would follow. Nobody seems to care about it, so it was only useful for tweaking your nose.

Agazi Faustino |

I don't like PVP either, especially when I only have 12 hp and I'm surrounded by people who would immediately end me. If it helps, Agazi doesn't even care about picking a fight with you. Browbeating is just kinda his thing.

Ibinu Kemish |

Okay to be simple about this, I'm done.
I will not be continuing this game.
I am leaving for one clear specific reason. Player bullying and abuse. Since Agazi has started this game I have been stressed in real life on a regular basis due to this game. I play this hobby simply for enjoyment and escape. I have found very little of that here. It has been one month. I have given it enough time while watching and hoping for the promised change. There has been none. Good bye.

Kallik Sisa |

Honestly I get Ibinu's statement. Agazi is a fascinating character but I was under the impression that he would be turning towards working with the party and in an honest way. Not the way that it seems to be going.
I will not drop the game and I really want Ibinu to come back. I do not want to see this delightful game fall apart but it is getting harder to want to post with all of the contention within the characters.
I can enjoy bickering within a group and I have been in that style of play before but it was always light hearted and not attacks on someones character, it wasn't something that made one character want to get physical.
As a player I get wanting to play your character a certain way. Hell I had Kallik get tainted by something that caused her to kill someone in cold blood. She even had an chance of attacking her allies. I let her become a rage monster. But I also made sure everyone was cool with it. And that changed pretty quickly too. She is returned to her level-headed ways and some lingering scars from it.
But the part of my brain that channels Kallik was all for attacking and killing Agazi for a variety of reasons. Withholding vital information, browbeating everyone, joking about kicking children, bringing Egret into it, ect. But I hate PvP. Especially in a PbP game. You cannot read body language and that style of gaming needs to be face to face and with clear agreements of what is aloud.
I like table top RPG's for the cooperative behavior it fosters. I plan on getting my nieces into it and their parents love the idea. I love table top games. But there is no working with others to be found in Agazi and that has had an effect on the game and the joy to be found in it.
I did some thinking about it while I was at work and I think talking things out in the discussion before anymore posting happens is necessary.

High Servant of Volcano |

I did not sleep very well last night. I know it sounds silly, but this is my only hobby, and currently this is my only table. I enjoy this group greatly.
First of all, I want to apologize. I gave the go-ahead for Agazi's character concept. I thought it would lead to interesting tension within the group. I was also surprised by the tone Agazi took, but I'm the DM and I should have been more proactive about asking how everyone was feeling about the antagonism flying around.
We've had a character come close to quitting over this (I really hope you come back Ibinu), so the simplest thing before the weekend is just to say Agazi is going to be taken care of, one way or another. He might try to attack Etrah, which was implied in the text, or honestly one of the council members would have him killed tonight since he is crazy and violent.
Again, it is the DM's responsibility to vet characters, referee the game, and make sure everyone is having fun. The only thing I ask is that if you have a problem, please post or PM about it, because I can't always pick up how everyone is doing based purely on Gameplay and Discussion.

Kallik Sisa |

That is the real down side to the PbP style of gaming, you cannot see peoples faces. I understand oking something and then not understanding the way things turn out. I have seen it happen in live and PbP games. You are human and things happen.
I am perfectly fine with getting rid of Agazi. He is not a good character for the group and no longer would be a good mix as even an NPC. And I agree to giving it a few days. Mostly to give Ibinu and chance to think about things and hopefully return to us.
Inam you there? What are your thoughts on this?

Agazi Faustino |

I am in total agreement with everything that has been said here. My intention was never to cause anyone distress, but rather to have some interesting RP opportunities. I misread the signals, and I was out of bounds. I apologize profusely for making this game less fun for anyone.
Thank you guys for being honest and bringing it up now rather than letting it go on. I sincerely hope that my dropping out will allow for Inibu to return and have many more good times.

High Servant of Volcano |

Agazi, you have no ill will from me. I have learned a valuable lesson about thinking hard about not only the mechanics and personality of a new PC, but exactly how they will fit in with the overall plot and existing party.
Kallik, Inam, and Ibinu (I hope!): see Gameplay. I know that this is a busy weekend from most or all of you, so no pressure to post. Let's all have a relaxing weekend and start fresh next week.

Inam Smithrock |

I survived the Con and am back online. Working on catching up with my online games (and yard work and such) today. Hoping to get to gameplay here in a bit.

Kallik Sisa |

Yep. I did a bad thing and have to try to do the right thing. Beyond that Kallik need to talk to Bian about the eventual situation of her taking on Egret if Kallik has to leave, she really doesn't wanna do that.

Inam Smithrock |

I've nothing to prepare before going to the Dims.

A little time after we started I worked up a backup character option. An Ifrit warpriest... with an alternative racial that removed his fire resistance. I even built that lack of resistance into his backstory to explain how he dealt with mocking from other Ifrits (cause... let's be honest, they are all jerks). :P

Kallik Sisa |

I have entertained the idea of ifirt monk with the Drunken Master archetype. I have never had the chance to play a monk and the idea of a really drunk, friendly, and always bubbly ifrit calls to me.

Inam Smithrock |

Hmmm...In am may like that... I don't wanna save... ;-)

Ibinu Kemish |

Busy day for me, I should be good to post tomorrow as needed. Head to the center of the disturbance in the former steam slums sound good?

High Servant of Volcano |

As a little tribute to Eo:
During your two week break in Hearth (way back when), you all spent time with Eo. Here's one other thing you did. Feel free to narrate it in Discussion over the weekend (I won't be posting until Monday)
In addition to Undine, Eo also taught you the basics of High Ifrit. Put it down as a language for free, but add parenthesis (basics only)
Eo taught you a few of the tricks of speaking politely to others in the city as you passed out ashbread together.
+1 to diplomacy
Eo was very fond of Etrah, and showed you a particular spot on the back of the chicken's head where he liked to be scratched.
+1 Animal Handling

Ibinu Kemish |

Kay, that does effect what I would have done so very good to know. I'm also waiting to give Kallik a chance to add anything before I continue. What check would it be to know of a safe-ish place to lead these critters too?

High Servant of Volcano |

To untangle Kallik's combat round:
1) Entering mystic state in the surprise round is fine, but you do not need to do so for spellstrike (which is what I think you are using). You need mystic state for spell combat (which is a full round thing, which you can't do in the surprise round)
2) It looks like you gave one attack in case you couldn't use spellstrike. You can use it, so let's just go with your second attack (which hits)
3) Spellstrike doesn't give the -2 penalty (spell combat does that). Spellstrike is: you cast a touch spell (shocking grasp) and just because you are an awesome magus you get to do a melee attack rather than a touch attack and add in your weapon damage as long as you hit.
Does that sound right? I haven't actually played a magus before.
I'll have a map tomorrow.

Kallik Sisa |

Sorry I am really sleep deprived. I have not slept since noon yesterday and I am having to watch my nieces though they are happily lounging in the living room right now. Anyways my responses.
The magus is freaking weird! I think I miss read. I am not using bloodline stuff and that is what the mystic state is for. I think.
I think I was thinking that you had to use spell combat to use spellstrike. For spellstrike it says you make one free attack to 'cast the spell' as part of the melee attack. So I think that is why I rolled two attacks.
I think in my sleep deprived state I understand spell combat and spellstrike a little better. That says something about me I am sure.
So spell combat is a full round action with any spell I am able to cast that has a casting time of one round. This one does not have to be a touch spell and is not cast though my weapon but I get all of my attacks? This is the one with a minus two penalty.
But Spellstrik is different. Only touch spells and it says I get an extra swing at my highest bab, which I must declare is the one with magic? And yeah it is not against touch AC but I add my weapon damage. Magus is weird and awesome. Just needs some better explanations. I am seeing why the alchemist and not the magus is being carried over to 2nd edition.
Also in the time it took for me two write this the baby has unpacked a box for me. Cause she is EVIL!

Kallik Sisa |

To make matters more fun I am finally stepping back into live games with the remnants of my table. I have about four hours till they should be showing up and the demon baby is refusing to take a nap so I can. The other one is helpful in the way a six year old can be... so not very much.

High Servant of Volcano |

So you are using spellstrike again, which only requires 1 attack roll. To be consistent, I'm going to go with the second attack (like I did last round), which misses. Good luck with the baby and the game tonight! Are you DMing?
(let me know if I got any of the combat stuff wrong)
So Ibinu and Inam can go now, but take your time (it's the weekend)

Inam Smithrock |

Sorry! Though I'd posted here...but a whirlwind weekend...let alone work today...
I should be able to post here in a couple hours.

Yes I was DMing. I am running them though the Pact Stone Pyramid. I have a dwarf barbarian name Ulfgar. A human skald named Cordg the long winded. Teifling alchemist named Boomer Smash. And a ganzi oozemorph shifter named Oozy Mandious though he only uses Mandious. Clearly seriousness was not on the docket. I ran a suli cleric so they would have a healer.
So Mandious becomes an ooze when he is unconcious or sleeping so he sleeps in a bucket. One time he was tossed out as toilet water. He is trying to learn how to better blend in with humans cause the player though it would be funny and it was. Anyways Ulfgar overheard his mumbling and called him out. A bit of bickering ensued and some failed sense motive checks. The apparently female dwarves are mushrooms and they sprout out male dwarves. and the skald who is an unlfen so really tall. He is a dwarf frost giant. The ganzi believed them and the alchemist got really confused on how that works.

Ibinu Kemish |

Also busy, but am back and catching up. Will post soon.

Inam Smithrock |

Got home about 60 min ago. Made 1 post, began typing post here and... power went out...
Phone post it is! Lol

Ibinu Kemish |

Okedokie! All caught up on old Ibinu's memories. We need to go back down into the forbidden level of the dungeon and figure out who might be down there. Should prolly talk to council and get any info on that, though they may not know.

Ibinu Kemish |

Well, I always think I'll have more time to post until I actually get to the day. I may be able to post Saturday and Sunday morning/early afternoon. Monday is likely not until late. Very unlikely to post Tuesday. Wednesday normalcy returns.
