A mechanical note about Volcano's Land: an interesting consequence of getting rid of casters capable of 9th level spells (clerics, oracles, etc) is that the "Raise Dead" spell does not actually exist.
Let me know if I'm missing any obscure corner cases, but I think (in this campaign) the only class capable of reviving a dead creature is a paladin using the Ultimate Mercy feat. I actually like the idea of paladins getting this unique ability a lot.
Looks like this would take a 7th level paladin to pull off. While not unheard of, 7th level NPCs are not exactly common.

I started both the tables at the same in-world date. The two tables have considerably different stories, but yes, they are occurring at the same time. We'll see if it ever actually affects your characters...

Sorry posting has been slower this week - busy time at work plus my 2-yo son's birthday party today...planning on being back to my regular schedule this upcoming week.
I am moving and work was insane so it is all good to me. Now I am off to bed so I can run my game tomorrow.
No worries. Been a hectic week with the kiddos for me as well. One teenager going on 30.... and a pre-teen.
At least I got to spend a good 8hours at the climbing gym! :-D

Oh not at all. I would hope the bloodrager has experience with channeling anger/rage. Would almost say a bloodrager or barbarian is an expert on the subject.

With this being the start of Chapter 4 and approximately our 6 month anniversary, I thought it would be a good time to examine the game, make sure everyone's having a good time, all that good stuff.
The two main things I want to cover are: Loose Ends and Player Goals.
1) Loose Ends: Since this format is on the slow side and all the exposition is spread over 600 posts, I thought it would be a handy thing to remind you all of some of the things that have not been fully explained to you yet, since your characters may be interested in these, but it's not particularly easy for you all to remember every single little thing. Note that not all of this stuff is necessarily an earth-shattering secret, but it's stuff that definitely has not been fully explained.
--Gregori: what does he actually do? what's his relationship to the church? what happened to him?
--The White Obsidian: where exactly did it come from? who exactly attacked the people who found it?
--The Caravan Guards: how did they know about the White Obsidian?
--Infectors: are they on the fronts right now? how common are they?
--Previous Immune Heroes: who were they? how did they die?
--Lui: why was he so disturbed when talking to Bian?
--Sub-levels: where did the darkspawn in the Temple come from?
Let me know if I've missed anything that you or your character is still curious about!
2) Player Goals: I fully admit that I have not used your excellent backgrounds and goals to the extent that I could be. Now that we've established the basics of tone, setting, characters, and overarching "problem", I will be working harder to incorporate these.
Let me know if there's anything I'm missing, or anything you would like to add. This can be your character's goals (gain power in the Temple's hierarchy, or get So Khong to laugh, etc) or a player goal (more interaction with the NPCs you mentioned in your background, or more exploration of the city, etc)
Here are the basics I've got for each of you:
--Inam: learn more about your destiny, the secrets behind your sword and the chicken (and So Khong's interest in you); perform your duties to the utmost of your ability
--Kallik: work on your temper; find a place to belong and a group of friends (how does she feel about the others in the group right now?); player goal of working out issues like lineage and missing twin brother
--Ibinu: blackmail captain of the guards; get compensated for your time and effort; find out more about curse
--Bian: work on rift between Volcano and River (as well as rift between her and her family); find out what the heck is going on with all this darkspawn and infector nonsense in the last hour of her life
Just so that I have said it I am really enjoying this game!
I would like to add the young sylph I saved. So long as the rest of the group does not mind me keeping an NPC like that. From a mechanical stand point she could later be used for the leadership feat to fill one of those positions we do not have a good handle on, like a trap-breaker. Fluff wise Kallik is honestly interested in insuring the child is taken care of. Oh and because of her Kallik is going to want to look into the whole murder drug thing.
