Barbarian 6 Priest 1 HP 17/26 Armor +2 CON +3 STR+3 DEX+1 WIS +1 CHA+0 INT -1 Damage 1d10+1+1+1d4 XP 6 Green Gloves of Stealth, Amber Necklace. Club Glows in presence of men

That's fine. I have been trying to do that anyhow

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

No problems here. I wouldn't want to make life difficult for you, though I might wanna pay more attention to when I decide to roll from now. Frankly, I'm just glad to start murderising.

I think I'm having a little too much fun with this. All it takes is one instance of an intended clean cut turning into a stabbing frenzy, and suddenly I have THIS aspect to play with. Thank you, Arman. And you too, Mooshy.

F Kobold Bard Lv 7.03 | HP:19/22 | Dmg:d6 AC:1 | CHA:+2 WIS:+2 CON:+2 DEX:+1 INT:0 STR:-1

I think that the biggest trouble I have is with rolls I have to make in response to other players' actions such as Aid or Arcane Arts damage.

I'm really concious about how much my rolls ask of you, Moshy, and I do what I can to halt my input as soon as I have a 9-. It's mostly this class. I need to either get Sees killed or prestige her into another class.

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

Perhaps an amendment is needed regarding aid rolls. The currently described setup isn't really aid friendly.

Male Sanctioned Psyker | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: 4 | Fate: 4/4 |

I have been trying to limit the amount of actions I take per post as it is, so that is fine by me...

Male Tiefling Channeler (Shadow/Ice) | Lvl 6 | XP 5 | HP 14/28 | CON +3 STR +2 DEX -1 INT +2 WIS +0 CHA +0 |

I'm fine with this, though I do agree aids would be nice too, though if we are going to intend to aid in a post, we can put that at the top?

Also I see this coming up right after I just made the multi-roll post, so I do feel responsible. Sorry Mooshy for making it hard on you, sorry everyone else if this ends up slowing us down.

Having said that, I do like the idea. The reason I did a multi-roll post was to get everything over with. I would have stopped at the moment of impact if I'd thought that snake eyes was even possible. I really feel like I barely got punished at all for frankly extremely low rolls.
With those rolls, I should be at least half my health lower by my expectations, instead I'm merely being grappled.
(Edit: Nevermind, half health it is :P I overlooked the damage roll and I hadn't rolled my own damage yet.)

Sorry boys and girls I'm ill today. Update coming tomorrow

Male Tiefling Channeler (Shadow/Ice) | Lvl 6 | XP 5 | HP 14/28 | CON +3 STR +2 DEX -1 INT +2 WIS +0 CHA +0 |

Sorry I don't understand anymore. The first time I rolled for loot, it was 2d6+1, now it's everyone rolling just 2d6. Was there a specific reason for the +1 in the Arman Tent?

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

It's a situational modifier. It'll depend on things like say, location or difficulty. Not sure too specifically.

They're all rolling 2d6 because they don't know what the +loot modifier for this location is. As Greas says, it's situational. Looting a dragon's hoard would have something crazy like +4 or +5, a wedding reception for wealthy nobles (like this situation) would be a +3, a slaver's tent is +1, and you wouldn't even need to roll Loot for something like...I don't know, mugging a homeless guy. In circumstances like that I just tell you what you find in his pockets without a roll needed.

Side note unrelated to this campaign: I'm starting up a Dungeon World campaign on Roll20. Unlike the play-by-post games I run, it'll be in real time and only held once a week for about 4-5 hours each session, so I'm going to make sure it doesn't interfere with any of my existing campaigns on these forums. I haven't settled on which night it will be happening yet but I know that it will happen between Monday night and Thursday night. I don't have the ability to do it on Friday-Sunday because that's when I have custody of my kid.

Just gauging interest from people that I know are good roleplayers and are familiar with the system.

The setting will be the city of Salt in Wounds, a setting that I found from a creative poster on Reddit. It's a city built inside the constantly-regenerating corpse of a "dead" Tarrasque. I'll be using information from the above link for city design, factions, and monsters, but the story will be homebrewed by me.

Unnamed

i would love to, but i cant commit to weekly play :(

though i am thinking of running a DW campaign online myself.

Unnamed

actually i think i will, it will probably start with the slave pits of drazu module, just to get us cracking, then move on from there.

Mooshy, you have a standing invite to play if you want, i would probably feel better if you did actually!

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

I really, REALLY like the sound of this, but concerns about timing and being able to perform so well when live mean I feel unsure about whether I could actually do this. Which is a shame, because I can't get a live group for the life of me and I absolutely adore this stuff.

Trust me though, I'd be doing this in a heartbeat if I thought I could. You're a great GM, and I'd love to see where this would go. I'd just need times to line up. And preferably the ability to speak fluently and not lock up or get flustered. Or at least type REALLY quickly.

What would times and timezones look like, actually?

[Sheets] [Map]

I can do Thursday nights after 7 eastern.

I'm CST, and I work M-F until 5 PM CST. I usually try to get an hour's workout in at the gym after work, so I'd prefer to start after 6 PM CST if I can make it work with everyone else.

Thunk: Let me know when you have the campaign threads all created.

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

Dammit. Definitely no way.

Well, hope every who CAN play has fun with it.

Mooshy

Here s the initial post

What's your timezone Greas, out of curiosity?

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

GMT. As you might imagine, this tends to cause issues for me with regards to internet shenanigans.

Ah, yes...so it's nearly 7 PM where you are right now...mmm. I could see how that would pose problems.

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

And that's when it isn't 8 instead, like it is now. Daylight savings can be a pain sometimes.

Frankly, I'd be happy to be up at these sorts of times, but disregarding any questions of tiredness I'd be bothering other people. Needless to say, they would NOT be happy with me.

It's yet another reason that I like these play by posts so much. Time isn't so severe a factor.

I'd still like to run one myself, but first I have to be able to manage something coherent. Finding a module or seven on the internet might help with that, but I'd still like to have something of my own. I probably wouldn't NEED seven, but it's good to have backups while I make the rookie mistakes.

The #1 key is to keep things moving. Don't leave players wondering what to do next, give them five fires to put out and a relative that's at gunpoint across town and ask them if they'd like to stop and shop for a costume for the local gala. They'll keep themselves busy with at least one of those things, and if not, surprise them with a blue faerie.

Oh, and be oblique AF whenever you talk to your players outside of your game.

Male - Smoog's Player - RPGer/37th Lvl -

I am very interested but could only do it on Mondays.
Roll20 is such a great platform.
I ran a few BFRPG dungeon crawl sessions and had a blast.
I really like the dynamic lighting and Quantum-Roll features; so cool.

I love Roll20 too, though I'm still familiarizing myself with the finer points of its systems. I admit that I'm not as skilled at generating maps as I'd like to - that's why I've formerly stuck to theater-of-the-mind style narration instead of making a grid for players to interact with.

Male Sanctioned Psyker | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: 4 | Fate: 4/4 |

Mooshy, what effect can I try to produce with the halfling druid's spirit?

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

...that ended up far bigger than I had expected. Boy, do I go off on one sometimes.

Unnamed

i have space for 3 more in my DW if anyone wants in. mooshy is in with a paladin

Unnamed

out of curiosity what are the commonly accepted classes to play? There are so many out there, its hard to know what is useful to look at and what is not.

[Sheets] [Map]

The core classes are a good starting point, and I think most accept the Alternate Classes (Mage, Priest, Artificer, and Templar). The other popular books are Grim World and Inverse World. I seem to be the only one that likes to play with Class Warfare.

There's a run of playbooks to avoid. I think it's the person who put out the Clock Mage. The playbooks are a little sloppy and give the player too much sway. The Clock Mage in particular hardly has to roll to do anything, and if they die they can literally do anything no matter how long it takes.

Here's a fairly complete list of the available playbooks.

Unnamed

wow soooo many

mind boggling. Have you checked out any of the alchemists? I do like that class in theory

[Sheets] [Map]

The second one (pay what you want) is pretty cool. Bombs, personal Mutagens, and Potions that are ritual-like experiments. It's an INT/CON class. It's not too wild, and pretty unique. I think I went back and gave them another dollar after giving it a look.

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

...I don't know how I missed your mention of a campaign before now, MiniGM. At least I've noticed now.

Would there be any problem if I waited a little to see how you run things and apply later? I'm having a little trouble trying to figure out your GM style.

Unnamed

Sure. This doesn't take too long I expect, you could join for the part outside if you like

I don't know what my style will be in a DW game either

I tend to run my pf games a bit more relaxed, but am trying to model this one after mooshy's game we are playing here

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

Good to know. I may end up joining sooner rather than later, but I just wanted to know just in case I wasn't comfortable with that for whatever reason.

...that, and I have to figure out what I'd want to play. I find myself eyeing up Inverse World's Sky Dancer at the moment. Is there any particular issue with that I might want to be aware of? With regards to the game as a whole, not just character issues. I'll send you it if I need to.

Unnamed

I have those classes as we have a wall walker. I'll just be less familiar with them but that's ok

Unnamed

I would have to brush up on mounts

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

I'll at least say I don't plan on taking THAT option. I mean, come on, *I* can fly. Another guy can climb walls. What else could you need?

Unnamed

Lol. Famous last words.

It will be a challenge for me with the added maneuverability changes the dynamics but I'll get it!

Male Kobold Thief | Lvl 4 | XP 4 | HP: 16/19 | Armour 1 | Damage 1d8 | STR 0 | DEX 2 | CON 1 | INT 1 | WIS 2 | CHA 0

Apologies for not updating last Friday, had a big slamma jamma of a day at work. I'm getting on top of it just now by today and I'll be posting an update later on in the day.

Unnamed

And they need the paladin to save the day in the slave pits as well :)

Really sorry guys, updating tomorrow. Had a compulsion to see my son tonight and spent all of my after work time with him. I just got home and I'm too tired to update. Hate missing update days, but I'll make it up to everybody.

F Kobold Bard Lv 7.03 | HP:19/22 | Dmg:d6 AC:1 | CHA:+2 WIS:+2 CON:+2 DEX:+1 INT:0 STR:-1

We could do an end of session to review stuff and give you time to sort out your post. =D

I was on a 3 day weekend vacation yesterday. I'm trying to get caught up, but I've been struggling at work lately and it's killing my creative energy a little bit. Will post asap.

Hey all. Since you're all so patient with me (and I do very much appreciate that), I've made a decision.

Rather than half-ass this break and come back today, before I feel fully ready to, I'm taking the rest of the week off.

Updates will resume in full next Monday. I promise, I'll be fully 100% again by then, and my posts will continue as normal. Just need a bit of a break week to let my brain relax and re-gather some creative inspiration.

I'll be spending the free time this week reading, mostly, and collecting ideas that I can use in characterization, plot, and setting.

Thanks for your patience everyone.
