Okay on the nubmers, it'll be easier for reference anyway what with my shakiness on them.
For rituals, how many should I have? Should I pay to have them?
You get the two free ones at first level and have to buy any others.
You can perform one bard ritual per day of your level or lower without expending components, although you must pay any other costs and use any focus required by the ritual. At 11th level, you can perform two bard rituals per day of your level or lower without expending components.
Buy anything you fancy (and can afford) up to level 12 to add to your book. Bear in mind you'll need components as well.
If, for example, you took Aria of Revelation (level 10), it costs you 1000gp to learn. If you want to cast it, it could cost you an extra 400gp in gold and you need a musical instrument. You'd probably have one of those hanging about, seeing you're a bard :) HOWEVER, since it is a bard ritual, you could cast it twice a day without paying for any components and at this point it suddenly becomes very good value indeed.
If you wanted to cast it three times a day for some reason, you'd have to find 400gp of components for the third useage.

Hey Rev, I'm thinking, based on the name Tomb of Horrors, this is going to be undead heavy. I was wondering if the sample encounter you're putting together will be along these lines or if I'm totally off? lol
I've got no idea what the Tomb will feature, but that's a good point about undead.
I shall tweak.
Darwyn - yay! Thank you - that's really helpful. For your own sake, you might want to note down anything that your equipment does in the way of daily or encounter powers as well. They're often nifty and personally, I tend to forget them and realise two rounds after I died that I had a get out of jail free card all the time.

Hey Rosey, this is Tristan. This will be the character I use for your game. I pasted the stats and figures for most everything. I think the only things missing are Lay on Hands, Divine Mettle and Divine Strength. Take a look when you get a chance and let me know if I need to change anything. Thanks.

I'm just about ready, I just have to reformat the figures and powers for Norrin's profile. Although I decided to shelve the Vestige Warlock, Norrin will still fulfill the role of ranged striker and resident trap guy.
If those of you that have CB are willing to email me your character sheets, I would be most grateful. I appreciate that not everyone is happy to use emails, so don't worry if you'd rather not.
I've uploaded the raw character builder output into the profile for you to import.

I'm new to paragon tier adventuring so I'm unsure about how equipment powers work.
So I can use all of my magic items that have an encounter power, one per encounter, but those with daily power requirements I must spend one of my two daily item uses to power it (but only once/day per item)?

Thom (Eric) - looking good. Note that as a wizard, you get another free ritual of your choice at levels 5 and 11. They need to be those levels or lower. I've got the file. Thanks.
Norrin (Peasant) - That's quite right about the magic items. Character looks good to me.
Scranford - Rune-carved horns works for me.
Kidlat (Rad) - Yes, it takes time. Use the compendium to cut and paste.
Tavar (Xabulba) - got the file. Thanks.
Darion (Tristan) - looks good at the first pass.
I'll do more checking this morning and start putting links for all of you into my profile.
Cotesia and bmars3 - how are things looking for you both?

At level 12 we can use two daily powers from magic items, just not from the same item.
Edit: re-read your post and you allready knew that.

Ha ha, turns out only my boots have a Daily Item Power. I still can't activate my boots again with the daily item use gained after a milestone can I?

Thanks for that Tavar.
DM profile (this one) updated with links to all your characters. If you need a quick reference, that's the place to go. Team Tomb is at the bottom.
Still need stats from Scranford, Ragna, Cotesia and bmars3, otherwise we're looking good to go. No pressure at all, just let me know if you're going to be delayed getting set up so I know when to hurl you into combat.
Bluenose |
A couple of things.
If you use the Character Builder and copy/paste from the summary, it doesn't seem to include the Level 11 encounter/Level 12 utility powers from your Paragon Path. I had to put mine in manually.
@ Rev Rosey. Can you include Arishat's resourceful presence as a reminder for the other players? When they use an action point, it gives +12 to damage; or if they miss everything, it gives 11 temporary hit points. Thanks.

Done. Her build is similar (although I think she's more effective) to my own Resourceful Warlord who took the Commando Captain paragon path. He is much fun to play.

I've got a preliminary character put together in CB, but as I'm a virgin, I had a couple of stupid questions.
1. For ability points, the CB defaulted to 22. Is this what we're using, or some other number, or array, or roll. (Maybe I missed that somewhere)
2. When you mention magic items of Levels 11,12 & 13, I'm assuming this is in addition to the 13K GP starting funds?
UPDATE: Here is my profile picture, and the draft of my character (Not equipment yet, and I'm still going to do the same thing as a Dwarf, just to make sure)
Peasant Railgun |
Creating am Elven Seeker that uses Shiruken. He will have striker as secondary role or actually multi-class into Ranger or Rogue, depending on which opens up the best Paragon Path. I will create alias today and start putting in stats, powers, feats, equipment tonight.
I'm sorry bmars3 but could you please check your profile page? I seem to have inadvertently overwritten your profile with Norrin's stats during one of my updates. I was going to recommend the Sharpshooter paragon path, but changing your profile was probably going too far! :)
Rev Rosey |
There really isn't a huge rush on this, as it is just a trial run so you can all get some idea of how your characters will (or won't) work together in combat.
Don't fret. Scranford and Cotesia are still building and both bmars and Bluenose will have to entirely re-do their profiles due to board squickiness.
I'll tentatively suggest Sunday evening/Monday morning if that suits everyone? It's likely more sensible anyway as I have yet to manufacture a map for you all.
Peasant Railgun |
I got scared and just copied all my aliases' editable profiles to text files just in case they get overwritten.
Peasant do you need me to send you Norrin's editable profile as text or do you have another copy? I don't want to erase all your hard work if the boards somehow ate yours.
It's okay, I've got a local copy. Thanks for the offer. I hope Gary can restore your profile from the backup.

Fellow players, any suggestions on how to equip this swordmage?
It looks like your build is assault, a falchion or a 2h something with reach may be a good option. An item that maybe gives a passive to saves against ongoing damage is always nice when you are the tank, I have seen them, but I do not remember the names sadly. Also check out the tattoos have some interesting effects. I know you are a tank, but I love these gloves and I can see them be useful for anyone.
Antipathy Gloves : an enemy must spend 1 extra square of movement to enter a square adjacent to you
So the enemy cannot shift to you, unless they can shift more than 1 square, this is especially good if you have a reach weapon while marking enemies.
Also I think you can only wear leather, I cannot remember if you get hide, but Feytouched Leather +3 is great if you only wear leather. +3 item bonus to initiative.
