Looking into the rules for Trade Edicts:

“If your kingdom has surplus production from farms and fisheries that reduces its Consumption to below 0, you may export food. You must have at least 1 Granary and 1 Stockyard in your settlement.”

We haven’t built either of those yet so I don’t think we can formalise a trade route with the Kobolds at this time, but I think we do have a food surplus so perhaps we can negotiate a one off trade for now?

Yeah the web spell being flmable is probably spellcraft since it's the side effects of a spell, but she'd definitely know fire works.

The only fire based spells I can think to prep are Trial By Fire or Trial of Fire and Acid but both are touch attacks so not really useful unless our hit and run plans go very wrong. If we can get some fire arrows she’ll focus on getting as many shots off with those before switching to healing anyone who needs it.

Happy to let the party discuss the plan of attack as it pertains to the troll threat as long as they would like. Obviously these discussions can continue on the way up to Bokken's/Oleg's, but before that I will hold off on moving us that direction unless there is nothing else you wish to discuss with the other council members who will not be making the journey with you.

My intention is to hand way the trip north and just let you know how many days it takes to get to and from your destination(s) and move directly into any RP you might have with Bokken/Folks at Oleg's.

Thoughts?

My hope was to have Meridian make some acid or alchemist's fire while journeying, but unfortunately the PF crafting system makes that largely impossible. The easier of the two, acid, has a DC 15 Craft check. Meridian has a +11 in that check (thanks for witch's Cauldron ability) so she can hit a 21 by taking 10. This means that her weekly progress brewing acid is (roll times DC, 21 × 15) 315 silver pieces of progress on an item with a value of 100 silver pieces; this means she can make a vial of acid in ⅓ of a week. So, if it takes us three days to reach the trolls, Meridian is able to make one vial of acid.

Worse still, doing this while traveling means she is spending 4 hours working after 8 hours of travel and gets only 2 hours of credit for the work (presumably the other 2 hours is eaten up in the set-up and tear-down of the lab while on the move), so she actually makes stuff at one-quarter that rate while we are traveling, meaning it takes her 4/3 of a week to make one vial of acid—about 10 days.

Soooo not real useful. We should probably just buy a bunch of acid at 10 gp/flask if we can.

There's a lot of party cash and gems etc that we haven't unloaded as yet, so assuming we can sell the items or use things like gems as cash, we should be pretty good.

If we need to go to Oleg's to sell items for gold we can do that next. There's a pair of Bracers that should go to Celebeth as the only person who can't wear armor.

Wasn't trying to make it a big deal... but a big pile of money seems like something for the leaders to decide rather than something that Azen would feel free to use however she likes.

Maybe that is how it is supposed to work in this game, since we're building a community, not looting and dividing, or investing in individual gear as much as investing in the community's ability to create better things?

I just don't know how my character should react to it.

My thought is "get what you need". Got a great idea and we got the credit for it? Do it. It's a collaborative effort after all. It's not like you're a rogue picking your party's pockets "because it's what my character would do". So in summary, go nuts :)

Cool... I'm good. I think we got all the fire stuff they had. Wish I would have taken Acid Splash instead of Stabilize for my Two-World magic, but I do have burning hands if we need to make sure they are dead. It's just a limited resource.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Initial sweeps will be looking for large groups of trolls or evidence of such. Not taking the time to explore the entire hex, but with Greensight on, Trolls in motion should make easy targets to spot.

With the Troll Camp in J2 and knowing that they have raided the Lizardfolk Village in I3, I'm thinking Garethane can do a scouting sweep starting on the west side of the lake of J4 moving toward J1 and heading back along H1 through H5. That should burn through all of the Greensights for a day.

The next day he can do a sweep starting at the Ferry in J6 and moving through J3, then swing back and return from K1 to the west side of the Ferry in K1.

Does that sound alright to everyone? Modifications and collaborations welcome.

So skipping the I hexes on the sweep. The way that reads to me is J4, J3, J2, J1, I1, H1, H2, H3, H4, H5. That's a lot for a day's scouting (120 miles as the cro...er hawk flies without doing much searching. Do I have your intent correct? If so, give me a Perception check per hex.

I think I screwed up my communication of squares as it wasn't my intent to skip the "I"s. Intent was to do the I's and H's on one pass and then do the J's and K's on the next one. And yes I recognize these won't be the in depth explorations that will unlock the hexes. These initial scouts are just to see if there are any inbound (or outbound) big troll groups.

I'll put the course next to the rolls in a gameplay post.
