I have put Darwyn up HERE
I have also rejigged Akemi to be a multiclass Cleric. Replaced her cat tabi (which I forgot I had) with a symbol of battle. And equipped her armour... Doh.

Whenever you get to choose a daily or utility power, you choose two and they go into your spellbook. At the end of each extended rest, you choose which of the pair you'd like to use.
You still end up with the normal number of dailies and utilities as everyone else, but you have more flexibility about what they are. You should have the following.
1 level 1 Daily being used/one in Spellbook
1 level 2 Utility being used/one in Spellbook
1 level 4 Utility being used/one in Spellbook
1 level 5 Daily being used/one in Spellbook
1 level 6 Utility being used/one in Spellbook
1 level 9 Daily being used/one in Spellbook
1 level 10 Utility being used/one in Spellbook
So, if you had picked Sleep and Freezing Cloud as your level 1 dailies, you just need to decide which of them you're going to have available today.

Samson Gord |

I hate to do this, especially after such a long unexpected absence, but I have no choice. I'm going to be moving(unexpectedly) and have no idea when I will be wired again. I hate to hold up the game so I'm going to bow out and wish you all the best. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience.

Darwyn Tafare |

Agh. The college internet is gone, I've hiked to the library to get on now, and I've too much study to catch up. My internet should be fixed monday, at which point I'll catch up properly, I'm very sorry for this.
With exams getting close, I may have to follow Samson's lead, which is a damned shame, but I'm getting very short on time, and a new pleyer who knows the system would be far more engaging.

Rev Rosey |

Same offer to you as to Samson - if you want back in when you have internet back, I'll be happy to sort something out for you.
In the meanwhile, Group 1, you are down to four players. We can do two things.
1. Attempt to recruit another player.
2. Continue as a group of four and I reduce the encounters proportionately for you.
There is also option 3, of course - which is the one where you come up with some other, better plan.

Aardvark Barbarian |

I hope it wouldn't be difficult to work in a new character. To me, taking over someone's character is like trying to date a good friend's ex, right after the split, it just feels awkward.
That being said, I would love to join, and don't have anything I'm dying to play. So, is there anything the group could really use?
Looking at Pat's post of group breakdown, it looks like a full defender might be useful. EDIT: was looking at the posts and characters for the thread, you are out a leader? Is that the case?
EDIT: starting gear by the book? So a 14th, 13th, 12th lvl item, and money equal to 1 lvl 12 item?

A cleric would be cool (and that's what I was going to rebuild Norrin as, if we survive...
I also need some idea of what rituals it would be useful for him to have.
I think this is a good time to consider rituals too, if Norrin follows the clerical path.
Rev, how many rituals do I get to pick/buy?

Rev Rosey |

Aardvark - welcome. Build what you want. I offered the option of take over mainly because building a level 13 pc from scratch isn't everyone's idea of fun.
We're down a leader, a controller and a controller/leader.
Thrugnipp is going Invoker, which sorts out the controller problem.
This being the Tomb of Horrors, a cleric would have obvious use. Peasant (Norrin) was planning to convert his striker, but it's up to you how you sort that one out. My gut feeling is that two clerics is good, but could conceivably slow you down in combat (i.e. you'll live longer, but may take forever to drop a monster).
I gave everyone a starting gold bump at the outset, so you would have 21,000 to play with.
Rituals
Casters (with the exception of wizards) start off with one free level 1 ritual and can buy any others up to their level. The only limit is how much money you have and how many piles of components you want to buy.
Things that cure death and disease or enable movement would be the obvious ones to pick I'd say. You're in necromantic hell for the most part.

Aardvark Barbarian |

Peasant, if you are wanting to play a Cleric, I can do something else, again not committed to anything. If all the roles are filled I'll play whatever, if a role is needed (like if Peasant is only playing a Cleric due to no leaders) then I will cover down on any role needed.
Also, are you guys covered for thievery?

Pat o' the Ninth Power |

Welcome, Thrugnipp and Aardvark.
Let me check:
Lyan - defender (minimally m/c striker) - mobile heavy infantry
Akemi - striker, m/c leader
Norrin - striker or leader (ask Heisenberg when you see him)
Liskarr - controller
(Aadrvark?)
So it seems that leader is the sticking point. As long as Norrin or Aardvark end up with one, the fifth slot could be pretty much anything. With a tactically-minded group, any doubling up can be an advantage.

Aardvark Barbarian |

I've been working on a Deva Artificer/Shaman, with an enhancing allies style build.
Unless, Norrin really wants the Cleric, this is what I plan on going with.
It's a little slow going, didn't have CB at work last night(or ever, no access allowed). Been trying to put it together this morning, but need to get some sleep.

Norrin Axebeard |

I'm trained in Thievery.

Oh no, I'll stay with ranger because the Deva Artificer/Shaman sounds awesome and gets my vote.
Y'see, Plan A was to stick with rangering, while Plan C was shamanism. If we fulfill the Quest for Swordy Ghost's Sword, I wouldn't be able use the weapon (effectively) if I were a shaman.
Norrin - striker or leader (ask Heisenberg when you see him)
I'm not certain I see what you did there... ;)

Rothel Nelis |

Rothel is completely finished. There were some issues with CB, but I double checked the rules, and it's not acknowledging it in CB.
1.) When I retrained familiar at level 12, it still doesn't give me the paragon list. I dumped familiar and then replaced it at paragon, but it will only give me the list if I select it firsthand at paragon.
2.) One of my at-will powers (infusing spirit)only showed up half the time, sometimes when I made changes it would vanish, and then when I came back it was available again.
3.) I have a daily (Enraged Spirit)that says clearly that I can use the attack power at will while my spirit is in this form, but the CB shows the attack power that goes with it as a daily, not an at-will.
Also, I hope it won't be difficult for mapping and tracking, but I have both a Spirit companion and a familiar. The familiar I expect to rarely be off my person.

Rev Rosey |

CB can be very fussy over re-training I've noticed. As long as all the details are clear in your profile and available in the compendium so I can clarify any issues, I'm quite happy for you to use the powers.
Like the backstory very much.
My maps are done using Fractal Mapper. I upload them onto Flickr and add pcs, monsters (and in this case spirit companions and familiars) as text. It's fairly rudimentary, but works well enough.
... I should say, it works well enough when the bloody thing updates properly, which is 95% of the time, but it's being tetchy this evening.

Rev Rosey |

Rothel and Lisbarr - is there any way you would be likely to know each other? I'd like to come up with some remotely sane reason for you to be there.
EDIT:
The brief background to all this is that engines have been created in the Feywild and the Shadowfell (the group's current location). These engines are clearly designed to siphon enormous amounts of power to somewhere else and are the work of the Archlich Acererack. This is perturbing, because he was killed years ago and his schemes stopped.
The Feywild engine was destroyed by a group of adventurers who were hunted down and killed before they could move along to the next one. This is where the group came in and they have been battling their way through the various traps, tricks and unpleasantnesses of a dungeon, hunting for the next engine and hopefully a bit more information.

Lisbarr Gorrowsel |

I'm sure we could make up a reason why we should both be there. It is not unbelievable that Lisbarr would join forces with a deva, given their penchant for being decidedly non-evil.
It is possible that he has noted the discomfort Rothel has with his past life (his high perception and insight) and has agreed to his company because it helps him feel good about his own moods. Given his self-centered nature, it is unlikely that Lisbarr will pay much heed to any snide remarks sent his way. He is quite capable of giving as good as he gets on that score.
It could be that Lisbarr was trying to follow up supposed links with his former captor and the Archlich (which are probably totally unfounded). He could have met Rothel during his investigations (where?) which have ultimately led to wherever they are now. [Just an idea].

Rothel Nelis |

Given Lisbarr's age, he was 14 and with his father when Rothel's last incarnation died.
Possibly, Lisbarr saw and recognized Rothel's spirit as an old acquaintance/customer of his father's. Lisbarr could be linking himself to Rothel, in hopes that it will lead to his father.
Rothel's spirit has led them here, with memories of the name Acererack.

Rev DM |

Lisbarr/Rothel
You will have followed the same basic pattern as the group you're about to join. Rothel's spirit has lead you to Moil (the lost city of the Shadowfell, downed by Orcus many centuries ago and populated only with undead). Tracking your way through the ruins of Moil, you discovered a recently activated teleportation device, with signs that those who passed through it were among the living.
Stepping through this you have been following the trail left by these people (they haven't been that subtle and have left a trail of carnage behind them). This trail has lead you to a small chamber containing three portals to other planes and a single exit door. Here, you are waiting, piecing together the little information you have and noting with interest that although two of the portals show signs of recent entry, there is only one set of exit marks. You might reasonably conclude that whoever you are following has passed through the central portal and not yet emerged.
It is entirely up to you if you wish to join them or would prefer to wait.

Lisbarr Gorrowsel |

Lisbarr will follow this trail if looks as if it may lead to any answers. He mostly agrees that any group of creatures that caused so much carnage may not be evil. However, he is also awarwe that it could simply be a new evil sect trying to take over the current encumbent and, is simply eliminating the opposition.
I think that, having come so far, we would follow. Lisbarr would be wary of trouble. Bearing in mand that we do not know how far ahead the party actually is.
