with a flash and some smoke the golem breaks into pieces, its core joints burnt up.
"You are so lucky my gem isn't flammable!"

The golem is destroyed! Thomas is still at negative hitpoints.

Strangely, Midiotos words seem to have a small healing effect.
I will use 2 move actions to transfer 2 natural healing tatoos to thomas and 2 full round actions to activate them. Thomas heals 6 hps. At least you are not quite so deep in the negitaves now :)

Midio doesn't find anything of note. The room was set up by Karvakos as a trap for Vyrellis--there doesn't seem to be much else in it. At least not that Midio notices:)

There are no critical successes or failures on skill rolls. A natural 1 on a skill roll is just a 1 (plus normal modifiers).

De'arv'ki does not notices anything more than Midio.

Vyrellis has referred to two different temples during this adventure. The Hermatige of Knowledge, (which she specified is on the north edge of this floor, although she also said she isn't sure if it still exists), and the Sundered Temple (which is on the second floor). The Arboreans directed you to the Sundered Temple, so you'll either have to go through the Grand Stairs to get there, or do one of the other things the arboreans asked for, or ignore them entirely and find Karvakos on your own...or do something else I haven't thought of.

I should have an updated version of the map up tomorrow.

De'ARv'Ki, after a quicl search of Thomas, pulls out his wand of curative powers. Unable to make it work, she turns to Mundarion:
"Can you activate thissss... in any way, or... issss that beyond your talents...?"
Whilst waiting for an answer, De'Ar'Ki proceeds to continue to administor aid to Thomas.

Mundarion replies, "I do not have the ability to activate wands and items that I can't activate normally as a wizard. So that means that just about anything related to healing people is beyond my expertise. Neither have I had any training as a healer. So other than give you moral support and encouragement there isn't much I can do."

If I had designed this guy as a pure rogue he might have had the "Use Magic Device" skill. But as a wizard multi-class he arguably didn't need it because he could then activate pretty.much everything I thought he'd have to without having to roll for it. Unfortunately that means he's not a backup healer.

Midioto looks at the others expectantly, then sternly. Finally he exasperates.
Wait, you mean that you guys cant heal, at all? I wouldnt be able to stitch myself up and while i am strong willed enough to prevent most forms of harm, there is little i can do after the fact. Thats why i got these!
Midioto rolls up his sleeves to show off some tattoos splayed across his shoulders. With concentration they seem to shift and swirl.
I had an arcanist friend back before scribe these onto me. Some, like this one, augments my natural healing. While others, like this beauty give me a reserve of power, if the need is great enough. Here, watch.
Midioto concentrates and one of the tattoos uncurls itself and snakes its way down his arm and onto his palm. Then he places his palm on the forhead of Thomas. When he pulls his hand back, the tatto has transcribed onto the forehead of Thomas. Next he takes his finger and presses it on the tattoo and concentrates again. A flush of power is seen and when he removes his hand, the tattoo is gone and there is a bit more colour in Thomas face.
There. Thats how its done. Now i dont have very many of these, and their ment for emergencies but now you know how to do it if i go down.
Midioto is enjoying the spotlight.
Its a lesson i learned :) always have a healing pot!
I think i only got 2 left tho :(
So i healed Thomas 9hps total. I hope thats enough.

Or we could go old school D&D and use a skill! I loved the fact that fallout 1 gave you an XP reward for successful use of the heal skill too, made me use it much more than i otherwise would... lvled up once that way.

Sure! Go ahead and use a skill! In fact I got another character who's a doctor and spent significant resourses to be one :)
I also know its limitations. You can spend 1 hour healing him, with a -4 to the check. If you suceed, he heals 4hp!
Or I can spend 20 seconds to heal 3, and multiple times. No check. (Pet peeve of mine is the drastic difference between magical/non-magical healing)
I like the skill, its just. Not very useful :(

Ya, agreed.
Midioto is bristling with pent up energy first thing in the morning. Having gotten too little excercise the day before, he is determined to burn off the excess by the end of the day. And he was going to get an early start.
First thing in the morning, he is a whirl of activity, teleporting here, there and everywhere. Inspecting the monoliths, trying to lift Gemhearts hammer, sneaking a pet in on De's fur, then pretending it wasnt him. Sneaking a peek over Mundrarions shoulder as he read from his spellbook, and not understanding a word. And just being a hyperactive nusance to everyone.
When Mundraion suggests that they check out the Ice chamber Midioto quips up
Finally! Lets go! Lets go! and starts teleporting eratically and spastically all over again, and usually near the roof, while levitating.
Ill take the high ground. Deny gravity and teleporting
