Seeing her "companions" heading toward the stair Yess shrugs her shoulders.

Perhaps they might thank me later...

She winks at the drow head as she continues to talk to Gurrak.

Giant:
Brave Gurrak, my friends head down the stairs. What lies that way? Would you care to accompany me to check on the Plants?[/b]"
Yess indicates the shaking green wall down the southern corridor.

At the bottom of the stairs is a large stone door. It has a mechanical lock, and is too thick to hear through.

Results of Midio's knowledge check:
The Pyramid of Shadows was created centuries ago to be a prison for one individual. Its one-way entrance travels the planes, and occasionally picks up others. The more intelligent residents of the Pyramid have organized themselves into rival factions.

Time within the pyramid is erratic and does not match time on the material plane. Creatures within the Pyramid do not need to eat, drink, or sleep to survive due to the magic holding the pyramid together.

Back in the entrance room:

Giant:

"Water over there. Gurrak not fight plants, Gurrak stay here. You thing stay away from Gurrak's collection!"

Before bowing low to Gurrak, and heading around the southern side of the pit to rejoin her party. She comes partway down the stairs.

"Gurrak says there is water beyond the door. What that means, I am unclear. It may be wise to proceed with caution if it is a water-lock of some kind. There may be a fountain beyond the portal, or, a full chamber that will flood..."

GM - is the door wood or metal. If wood, does it show water damage/expansion?

When the group gets to a reasonable spot near the bottom of the stairs Mundarion addresses the group in Elvish (if anybody can't understand Elvish say so in character soon).

"The head seems to be alive because there is some sort of magic item in it that has a strong aura of transmutation. What that item is or what its various properties may be I have no idea. So, given that, if we decide to take the head with us we shouldn't have to worry about it 'dying' if we take it too far from that room."

"As far as other matters are concerned, we need to come up with some sort of marching order and general plan of what we are going to do. Obviously our main goal should be to kill Karavakos three times, or at the very least as often as we can make that happen. I guess we'll find out after that how many more people we might need to kill off in order to get out of here."

"In terms of setting up a marching order, I'll volunteer for point. We'll need somebody as rear guard who is good at spotting things. Beyond that, I don't know you all well enough to come up with any good suggestions. All I do know is that if we get in the habit of letting people take off at random without some sort of plan we're likely to get picked off one by one."

And another thing. I see some faces that I don't know so some sort of introductions should be in order. I'll start! I am Midiotoziggeroto. Elan explorer extrordinare. POP!
Midiotoziggeroto appears on the other side of the room
And teleporter! I also can teleport others if needed. I don't know about a marching order but I could port back there behind the giant and grab the skull and be back in a flash! you said it was the elf one? Oh! I'm also good at getting into places
He says that last one with a smile

Edit: Physical description.
Midioto is a slight creature, thin and not especially tall. He has long ashen hair, a golden complexion and dark brown, almost grey eyes. He is wearing a volumious poncho like atire and a billowing, flowing cloak. Yet his most distinguishing features are not something you can see rather it is his boundless energy, his excitable personality and the psionic energy that exhudes from his entire being. He gives off the impression of golden lightning.

Yessai bows. Her war-panoply, baroque Gith armor is articulated finely, emblazoned with leering faces, grimacing skulls and generally overwrought with filigree and embossing. Her overlarge and similarly inlaid and sigiled bastard sword looks improbable in her thin arms.

"Vassekh-Arokh Yessai - Direlock of the Spiral Radiant. You may call me Yess. I can stay in the middle or at the back with Midio."

Yess addresses the excitable Elan:

"Perhaps when we are further away from the Ettin. It seems rather touchy and extremely protective of its "collection" of heads. If one were to go missing I fear it might become quite angry."

Gemheart is a humanoid and stands a few inches taller and more broad than your average human. His skin has a mettalic sheen that appears to be comprised of several metals, copper in some places, gold in others, and even some indistinguishable metals. There are also small, faintly luminescent crystals that protrude from "his" skin in regular intervals.

He carries a multitude of weapons, but wears no clothes other than boots, gauntlets, and a cloak. His psionically-created armor resembles half-plate armor, except that the plated areas appear to be crystal and the chain areas appear to be ectoplasmic thread.

"I am known as Gemheart. My people are created and recreated, like folding the steel of a blade in the forge. I am adept at front line combat."

Thomas' mindblade continues to burn a pale blue until he dismisses it with a gesture. He stands proud in his billowing blue cloak, his serious eyes (Guess what color they are lol) scanning the assembled heroes.

I seek to vanquish the Fell creature that has trapped us here and would appreciate any assistance you can give. I shall stand by readily to aid you, whether it be with my blade or my healing skills

Thomas then bows his head deeply.

There is a sturdy handlebar, along with a keyhole.

De'Arv'Ki is a mystery to behold. Silvery armor of a make not Golarion, Heavy clothing of a strange style visible beneath her armor. A strange accent accentuated by her rasping whisper of a voice, This grey-tawny being seem not of this world. The crossbow in her hands and the long, thin blades at her back have seen little use, but her baring suggests a high level of proficiency with them.
"I am De'Arv'Ki, outcast frrrrom the Planes... of Dust, mid level thief of the grrrrand city of palanthas..., and I believe I can act as a forrrrward scout..."

The door opens. On the other side, you stand on a balcony which overlooks a room filled with dark water. A rope bridge
slants sharply downward toward a wooden platform just above
the level of the water. Two other bridges connect that platform to
other balconies. Each balcony is 10 feet above the water. For clarity, the bridges for a capital "T", and you are at the base. On the far side of each of the smaller bridges sits a door guarded by a harpy. Save for the tattered wings and taloned feet, these creatures resembles feral women with wild looks. Each harpy's hair is tangled and encrusted with blood. Both harpies turn towards the group, but do not make any sound (yet?)

knowledge (nature) DC 17:
Harpies lure unsuspecting travelers with their captivating songs. The fate of their victems varies from tale to tale, but it is usually quite unpleasant.

knowledge (nature) DC 23:
According to some legends, harpies were the creation of the elf wizard Corellon to entrap musicians of weak will. The truth of such legends is unknown.

perception DC 20:
There are three creatures in the water next to the main bridge (the one directly in front of you), and a 4th creature behind the stable wooden platform. These are green-scaled humanoids with webbed hands and feet.

Knowledge (nature) DC 12, only people who made the above perception check:
These are sahuagin, underwater hunters who were drawn into the Pyramid when its entrance manifested at the bottom of an ocean or on a plane of water. They cannot survive for long outside of the water, but can communicate with those on land.

perception DC 30:
A hidden door lies in the wall underwater, leading back towards the entrance pit, possibly to the bottom of the pile of bodies.

As Paddfoot moves past him Mundarion says: "You want point? You've got point. I'll take rear guard. Just try not to make so much noise, you're bothering the corpses back in the pit."

As Mundarion moves back towards the rear of the party he says to Thomas: "Hopefully you're a real good healer and the kitty cat is a fast learner, or we may be down a party member before too long."

"It is useless for me to give advice to someone who is unwilling to listen, and I don't have the legitimate authority in this group to tell anybody to do anything and make it stick. So I gave Paddfoot what she asked for. The same abilities that make somebody a good choice for point also make them a good rear guard. So with Paddfoot on point it is logical for me to come back here."

"There are a whole bunch of things we need to decide among ourselves as a group. Preferably before we get into a real fight. Who gets point and rear guard is probably the least of them. Yessai looks over the balcony to see the creatures, but she cannot see the door Thomas speaks of. While she looks she answers Thomas over her shoulder.

"No bickering here good Thomas. A little housekeeping is all. And again, I remind you we are here to support one another."

Yess draws her dire bastard sword, and waves it with impossible ease in the air, though not without great strain on her face or her taut ropy musculature. She seems unperturbed by the harpies or creatures below, though from time to time she looks past Mundarion to check on Gurrak.

"I fight. I scare. I eat magic - even yours if you will give it to me. You pass your magic into my mantle and I gain power. Foes that come too close to me suffer, and I can make them suffer as they come close. I am not strong. I have no bow or ranged competency. I will stand and fight with you Gemheart. Yess turns to the draconics:

"Harska, Nightblade - what are your abilities?"

The harpies begin to sing a duet, in common--a cry for help:

Oh mighty adventuring band,
Will you not lend our tribe a helping hand?
Travelers arrived from another plane
We desire to see to your world away from this place's pain!
The Key for one to leave lies beyond that stair They gesture to the door you just came out of

If you give us your aid, you will be cherished,
