De'arv'ki Paddfoot
|
Hearing the irritation but not the meaning of the ettin's response, De'Arv'Ki flicks her ears back and rasps to Yessai:
"He doesn't sound verrrry happy, Yessai... What did you say? Arrrre we in dangerrrr,... should we get rrrready to fight?"
Thomas of the Blue Blade
|
Thomas is standing slightly behind and to the right of Yessai. His hood is obscuring his face and his body language is calm. However, the activation phrase for his mindblade is at the forefront of his mind, ready to manifest his will.
Readied action to raw mindblade should the strain attack.
De'arv'ki Paddfoot
|
And with a small puff, De'Arv'Ki vanishes from sight, drawing her Wyroot katana as she does.
Stealth: 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (4) + 33 = 37
I intend to move up behind the ettin and attack in concert with the party, unless anyone has objections...
| Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
"If you no give head, I take it!"
Gurrak raises her weapons simultaneously.
Initiative
Gurrak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Mundarion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Thomas: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Midiotoziggeroto: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Yessai: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
De'Arv'Ki: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Gemheart: 1d20 ⇒ 13
| Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Initiative Order:
Thomas: 24+
Mundarion: 24-
De'Arv'Ki: 15
Yessai: 14
Gurrak: 10
Midio: 8
All of you start to the west of the pit in the center of the room. Gurrak is to the northeast of the pit--there is not a clear enough path to charge. There is ample space on all sides of the pit to fight (about 15 feet on each side, not counting the alcove to the northeast.)
Thomas of the Blue Blade
|
Seeing as this confrontation is about to turn violent, Thomas focuses his will into his palm and the glittering brilliance of his blade springs forth! He steps in front of Yessai and clearly recites a holy passage under his breath.
Begone from this wretched place Monster! We have no fear of you, for the Lady of Justice walks with us!
And with that a faint blue aura surrounds Thomas' armor.
Actions:
Free: 5ft step to be beside Yessai
Move: Form mindblade
Standard: Cast bless on party
Swift: invoke Judgement to armor (+1 AC to me)
De'arv'ki Paddfoot

"Larrrrge monsters shouldn't pick fights... with small hunterrrs..."
Having vanished from sight Swift action to activate Ninja talent, De'Arv'Ki moves behind the Ettin, but doesn't attack until it is closer to the party, so as to take advantage of flanking bonuses 3 rounds of invisibility remaining, 3 Ki points left
Actions:
Standard: 30ft movement
Move: Stealth (see previous post) + 30ft movement
Swift: Turn invisible
Free: Speak
| Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
Yessai's blade suddenly shimmers, the edge gaining it's characteristic spiky and hooking protrusions. She moves, determined to end the creature resolutely, and slashes at its legs, missing terribly.
Swift Action Inimica - Blood Zone
Move Action: Close with Gurrak - up to 30ft.
Standard Action: Attack.
Shaauw!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 + 1 = 6 [BAB, +1 Str, +1 Mwk, -2 Large, +1 bless]
Chanque!: 2d8 + 1 ⇒ (8, 7) + 1 = 16 [+1 Str]
Ehrmagherd. So fantastic.
| Gemheart |
Gemheart charges, bill in hand, for an attack on the ettin. (reach weapon, so no AoO from moving through the giant's area. you also forgot Gemheart on initiative)
1d20 + 9 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 2 + 1 = 32
1d8 + 6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 3 + 1 = 17
crit confirm, if hits, triple damage: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 9 + 2 + 1 = 21
| Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Thomas glows, empowering his allies.
Mundarion fires an arrow, striking the ettin on the chest!
"Ah! I..."
The ettin releases a loud cough.
De'Arv'Ki turns invisible and moves towards Gurrak.
Yessai runs around the pit and strikes at the ettin, missing wildly.
Gemheart approaches and stikes her with his bill
Critical hit! Roll for extra damage.
Heavily wounded, Gurrak lowers her spears and attempts to withdraw to the east. De'arv'ki may take an AoO if she wants due to being invisible.
When she reaches the edge of the eastern hallway he turns around to face the group, panting.
"Ok", she sighs, then lets out another cough.
That went quicker than I expected...
De'arv'ki Paddfoot
|
Sure i'll go for the AoO, but i'll be nice...
Seeing the creature attempting to retreat past her, De'Arv'Ki lashes out at the Ettin, but only with the flat of her blade to stun the pitiful creature.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Non lethal attack: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 4 = 16(+5 MAB, -4 non-lethal with a lethal weapon
WHY!!!?!?!?! >_<
De'arv'ki Paddfoot
|
Seeing that the Ettin no longer poses a problem, De'Arv'Ki sidles up to Thomas, and whispers in elven: "You should heal this crrrreaturrrre... we may gain... a frrrriend..."
Thomas of the Blue Blade
|
Thomas sighs to himself
Your lucky my Lady is benevolent goddess, Monster. Let us and our allies free roam of your domain, and offer your assistance to us in the future and I will spare your pitiful existence. Take any malevolent action towards me or my companions and I will personally make sure to escort you to whichever of the Nine Bells is reserved for cretins such as your self. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!?
intimidate: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Iomedea must be more benevolent than I thought. Apparently she doesn't like shows of violence...
| Mundarion |
Thomas, not that it's likely to matter with a roll like that, but smaller creatures take minuses to Intimidate when trying to influence larger creatures. It's also possible that Gurrak might get confused trying to figure out where the nine bells are :-)
Mundarion holds his position with bow ready and arrow nocked, though not pointed directly at Gurrak.
Thomas of the Blue Blade
|
It's supposed to be Hells, but you know, Auto-correct hates me. Almost as much as the RNG does sometimes. And that is kind of disturbing and I don't want to even think of the implications if the giant would have gotten that reference somehow. Lol
| Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Can I try Diplomacy or Intimidate again within 24 hours?
You can try intimidate again. If you want to make a specific request or trade or something, you can use diplomacy again, but not just for making him/her like you.
You have a good chance of doing better than Thomas, though...Gurrak scoffs at Thomas's threat. He isn't afraid of any bells.
But turning back to Gemheart, she inquires
"You want what you want? What you want?"
| Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17*
Yess attempts again to break the creature's will. She empowers her mantle with dread power, faint limnings and traceries emerge to enhance the aura of doom. She draws her fell blade, now bereft of its wicked flanges and hooks, but nevertheless terrifying to behold at a hairsbreadth from one's eye. Yess speaks clearly, in Giant and hisses out her message.
in Giant: "We slew the noisome beast in the pit. We won freely through the harpy lair. We smashed you when you turned on us. We go where we please and make all follow. Gurrak is sick. Gurrak is weak. Gurrak is beaten. And close to death. We could even heal you. Join us, or die."
Swift Action: Change inimica to fearsome power.
Standard Action: Intimidate.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 12 + 2 = 34 [+2 from fearsome power]
* disregard Kn. Nature if no untrained checks allowed
| Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
Yessai makes a motion with her hand and gives a slight bow.
"Gurrak has seen the sense in submitting to our obvious primacy. We should take the pitiful creature's weapons, though that may leave it vulnerable. I told it we might heal it at some future point, but we can dispense with such honor."
in Giant, to Gurrak: "Wait for us here. If any come from behind us call out to warn us."
| Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
Yessai listens to her fellows, and nods.
"As you wish."
Her face contorts again into a study of indomitable might as she turns to Gurrak, making sure to speak to both heads.
in Giant:
"My mighty compatriots bid you keep your weapons close, and to hand. Remember the awesome grace and generosity of Dire Yessai and her demons of destruction."
| Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
| Mundarion |
Mundarion heads off down the south hallway. When he gets past Gurrak he will put his bow and arrow away. Then he will draw a throwing dart holding it such that it is not blatantly obvious that he is armed.
Perception check: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Just naturally being watching and wary. But with a roll like that probably not seeing much :-(
