I get that all the time. It is annoying, but it's harmless.

I don't know if you all have seen this, but there is a Goblin Boon Raffle that is being held to raise money for someone's cancer medical expenses. Goblin boons are rare... Only 34 were ever issued, and only a handful remain. Here's your chance to try for one and help a life at the same time.

Oh wow that's terrible. It always makes me happy to see the paizo community do stuff like this though. I'm constantly reminded time and time again of how non-toxic this online community is, especially compared to some of the other gaming sites out there.
Also, as someone who knows firsthand how medical expenses can stack up, it makes me happy to see people trying to help out. I'll be joining in, just so I can be a part of something so awesome.

Sometimes I forget how lucky I am: the concept of 'cancer medical expenses' just isn't a thing over here.
Where do you live?

On a completely different note, my Monk is presently in a game in which the DM hasn't posted in over a week. We're a gnat's eyebrow from the end, apparently, and I'm a little concerned.

*thumbs up*
By the way, if you're Australian, I don't suppose you'd happen to know anything about DM Under the Bridge? I know he was a sociologist based in Melbourne. We were becoming real friends before he was banned from the site, and I don't have too many of those.

Trust me, you don't want to ever have to worry about medical expenses, cancer-related or otherwise. Just the cost of two weeks of care in the CCU is... staggering. I'll never complain about the cost of insurance again.
I don't even want to talk about the cost of my medical bills from my little stint in the ICU recently.
America blows when it comes to healthcare costs.

For all its failings, Obamacare's turned out to be really helpful for my family and I. Shortly before that came along, the insurance company was ready to say I'd reached a lifetime limit on psychiatric appointments (having been continuously seeing therapists of various sorts since I was 6), but then Obamacare stepped in and told them "nope, can't do that, only they get to decide how much they need, and you're gonna cover it."
On the other hand, I just had some serious dental work done that cost a small fortune, and none, if any, of that was covered by insurance. Apparently, dental care isn't considered a necessity or something, which is F*##ING STUPID.

What? All that healthcare, and you still all have garbage-can lids for heads....

know he was a sociologist based in Melbourne.
Nah sorry mate.
Australia has a small population but an enormous landmass - for my last game day some of the guys drove 100 miles each way, Melbourne is the capital city of my neighbouring state, around 550 miles distant.
So yeah, in the same city its a small circle - outside that its just the other side of the world.

They say that Americans think 200 years is a long time, and Europeans think 200 miles is a long distance - given that, where do Australians stand?
GM Aerondor
|
Kiwis say 200 miles is a long way and 200 years is a long time.
Of course, Europeans have only been over here for less than 200 years, and top-to-tail we are only about 1000 miles long. That said our coastline is around ten thousand miles. Still small compared with Aussie.
I note your missing GM seems to be a kiwi, any idea where he hails from? Auckland?
| Shifty |
Distance is an interesting concept - out of the cities, long hauls are pretty common. In the outback it can be a trip of 100 miles just to get to your neighbours house, and in the intervening distance you wont see another person.
We're a big place. And we are very empty.
So driving 200 miles for a game isn't really a biggie.
Similarly, we're the oldest landmass on Earth and mostly unoccupied - so 200 years is nothing.

My rogue here has played The Devil We Know, pts II-IV, but he hasn't played pt I. He's level 5 right now, so I'm hoping to get it in before he levels out. Anyone willing to run 1-29 at either Tier 3-4 or Tier 6-7? (I'd prefer the latter)
| GM Andrew |
Just out of curiosity, has anyone heard from Nohwear lately? He went from pretty prolific to MIA around the beginning of the month. I hope all is well with him...
Not sure. He was supposed to join a game of mine as well and didn't show. Hope everything is OK, but usually it means it is not. :(

Dittoing a seek for a part I (I could use part II as well, but will happily take just part I, #1-29. Either tier is fine).

What about Faithless and Forgotten? That's a 2-Scenario chain or so, correct? My Occultist was in it once, but then something happened to the DM and the plug was abruptly pulled. I'd like to do that.

It's actually a three parter, though I kind of feel like the second part is a bit unrelated to the other two. I'd be open to running it in the future, but I'm still rather new to the PBP having only done 1 before.

I'd also be interested in playing "Fortress of the Nail"...and of course, "You Only Die Twice" (though I'd want to play that with my Alchemist, who's busy at present).

I know what you mean. I have been in a number of games with him, and that is very much not his style. Like you said, it normally means not, but I can hope..
