Getting ready to run The Confirmation for some friends in a few weeks. Can anyone point me to a good set of Slides I could duplicate? Preferably one including maps, tokens, the cave drawings, etc.?

My Confirmation folder is here. It's got maps, tokens, some images of characters in the scenario and a document with images for the cave drawings (the latter I borrowed from somewhere). It should be all you need, though looking at the maps I notice I didn't extract them from the PDF, just copied them, so they still have the markings for the DM and such.

Thanks! I'm hoping someone has a set of Google Slides to share, but if not this is a much better starting point for me than what I would have had before.

Hey all i've got a question about the additional resources. It says "In Chapter 2, nothing from the catfolk, drow, hobgoblins, kobolds, and orcs entries are currently legal for play."
But then directly below it says that "all alternate racial traits, favored class options, racial archetypes, racial equipment, feats, magic items, and spells are legal for play." and this is on the Aasimars, Catfolk, Dhampirs(with some exceptions), Fetchlings, Goblins, Ifrit, etc...
So how is that ruled? Does that mean things such as catfolk are still illegal for play? Just realized catfolk is actually the only one that falls under both the Nothing and All tags.

If you're talking about the entry for the Advanced Race Guide, the entry begins at the top, with:
Advanced Race Guide: To create an aasimar, catfolk, changeling, dhampir, fetchling, gillman, grippli, goblin, merfolk, ratfolk, samsaran, suli, tiefling, vanara, or vishkanya character, you must have a Chronicle sheet that opens the race as a legal option at character creation. Aasimars and tieflings that were created and had at least one xp applied before August 14, 2014, remain legal for play. The boon restriction to create a kitsune, nagaji, and wayang was removed at the start of Season 6 and all three are now available for open creation. The boon restriction to create ifrits, oreads, sylphs, and undines was removed at the start of Season 8, and all four are now freely available.
I'm no expert, but I believe that the first quote in your post - "In Chapter 2, nothing from the catfolk, drow, hobgoblins, kobolds, and orcs entries are currently legal for play." - reflects that you can't play these races without a boon, while the second quote - "all alternate racial traits, favored class options, racial archetypes, racial equipment, feats, magic items, and spells are legal for play." - means that you don't need a second boon to take a race option. Once you have the boon to create a catfolk character, you can also use the alternate racial traits, favored class options, etc., for that race without needing a separate boon for each one.

Ah that makes sense, didn't know they needed a boon to play, neat though. Thanks for helping me clear that up, was actually looking for kobold stuff at the time but got distracted.

Hey, everyone,
I have exciting news. We have just finished a table of GM school, and I want to announce that the following students have successfully completed it:
Darren Whitehouse/GM Darren
Elinnea/GM Elinnea
bigboom/GM bigboom
Please join me in congratulating all three of them. They have worked hard and done well, and I would be honored to play at any of their tables.

Congratulations! I look forward to playing at your tables.

Well done - both the new graduates and their mentors. Always good to have more GMs. That is more games.

In one of my pbp I rolled a nat 20 to attack but didn't roll a 20 to confirm.
Next round I rolled a nat 20 to attack and a nat 20 to confirm.
Same round I roll to save and get a nat 20. I roll some test rolls in the same post but they are not 20s.
I have to roll a save later that round for my animal companion. A nat 20.
I then post in another one of my games and roll a monster ID check. Another nat 20.
I'm putting them all in the same way.
a check: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7
Am I on some crazy string of luck or could there be a bug?

As the GM in question, I'll just say that if they're gonna be all random, how about a string of 1s instead of a string of 20s?!?

Hey guys, we've got what sadly seems to be an abandoned table of Murder's Mark. Our GM's been gone for about two weeks, so it seemed like it was past time to see if any of you fine folk might help us out!
Our discussion thread is here.
Thanks!

Agreed! Not having to stress about what'll happen if a GM turns ghostly is really fantastic.

Force effects are preferred, but other magic still does half-damage.

I think that I'm solely responsible for balancing out all of those natural 20's because I seem to get a fair share of those 1's. Ever see someone with a wand of True Strike miss, two rounds in a row because of natural 1's? /sigh

It's just the "Classes/Levels" field on your alias. Instead of only putting in the Classes/Levels you fill out the pertinent information (usually AC, Saves, HP, DR, Perception and Initiative as well as your race, class and level.)
Whatever is in that field is what appears just under your forum Alias when you post.
Nyloth Moonborn |
@ItsJustAce Giving you one of my characters as an example. Go to your organized play and click edit on the character. In the "race" section put | HP 18/18 | [oo c]AC 16 T 16 FF 14[/oo c] | CMB +4, CMD 20 | [oo c]F: +3, R: +4, W: +8[/oo c] | Init: +2 | [oo c]Perc: +13, SM: +4[/oo c] and take out the spaces before the "c" in "ooc".
In "class/levels" put | Speed 30ft | [oo c]Spirit Dance Rounds 4/6, Spirit Influence 2/5[/oo c] | Spells*: Cleric 0/2, Wizard 0/2 | [oo c]Active conditions: Blind, Scent 10ft, Improved Blind Fight[/oo c]
And in "gender" put [oo c]Male LG Human Monk 1 (Master of Many Styles), Medium 1 (Rivethun Spirit Channeler)[/oo c].
Then change them to make sense for character using the formatting as a guideline

Each character for organized play is its own alias with all this info. Simply edit that character under organized play > my organized play to see it. When you make a post, you will have a drop down box next to the preview button that will let you select your PFS character.

Hi all! I've GMed PbPs in the past, but haven't done so through the Flaxseed Lodge before (though I've played in and am currently playing in games on here). I'm interested in running a game though - is there anything particular I need to do other than post in the recruitment thread, and is there anything I should keep in mind? Thanks!
Redelia |
Hi, Shalm, and welcome.
If you've GMed PbP in the past, and played games from our Lodge, then I'm sure you know the basic conventions of our Lodge and PFS rules.
Two general things that I would remind you of:
-It's important to make your expectations clear, especially about posting frequency.
-It's also important to have a botting policy, either in your GM profile or stated in the game's discussion thread before you get started.
I could offer other advice, but I think those are the only things I want to be sure a GM new to our Lodge is aware of beyond PFS rules.
If any questions come up or you find that you need help, please feel free to send me a private message, or any of our other PbP Venture Officers.
