Whoops! I didn't see any update tags for the game so I had no idea it was moving along.

I also need to wrap up the chronicle sheet from my last mission. I need to learn/purchase some spells so it might take me a day to figure that out.

I'll also be making some changes to my build.

Almost done with the changes. I Just realized that Investigators have the option to craft things just like Alchemist for 1/3 the cost. So I'm finishing that from the lats adventure. If you're okay with it, I'll go ahead and post while I finish up my changes.


Actually, the wording that allowed Investigators to use their Alchemy skill like Alchemists was removed in the 2nd revision... not sure if they intend to put it back in or not, but you might want to be cautious about doing too much of the crafting, might make the paperwork a pain later if they don't add it back in when the official class comes out.

Thanks for the heads up. Can you point to the actual link for the 2nd revision. I know they reprinted the guide a second time. I'll double check that.

I just downloaded the Guide that was updated on 12/9/13 and it says this:

The problem is not that bit, its getting around the 'no crafting' rules in PFS... there's a specific rider that allows Alchemists to do it (and for a brief time, Investigators, but the later was removed apparently) ... dunno if they intend to add Investigators back in, probably won't know til the official class comes out.

Its similar to using wands... Alchemists are allowed to, but Investigators cannot.

The revised playtest document just replaced the original one, there's not a separate link to it.

If Investigators, by RAW, function as Alchemists for crafting alchemical items, then why would you need separate entry in the AR to allow something that is already stated?

In order for it not to be true it would have to be explicitly prohibited.

Also can you point to the link that says Investigators can't use Spell Triggers? I see one that says they can't use Spell Completion.

Hmmm. I think you're correct on spell-triggers. It's specifically mentioned for Alchemist, but nothing similar for Investigator. Good thing I invested in UMD and took Pragmatic Activator!

Well, You got to play what you enjoy playing. Though I have to say, in the missions I've either played with Kyra the cleric pregen, or GM'd, god it's been a cake walk for that group. And I've seen this at level 1, 4, and 7. And this is the pregen Kyra with zero optimization.

While I will agree that PFS missions are easy enough that you don't really need a dedicated healer (and this mission is no exception), having one changes the game dramatically. A good cleric can allow the front line fighters to just wail full on. Especially with low AC frontliners like rage Barbarians. Few classes, if any, can do as much single target damage as a standard THF rager.

That having been said, I tried playing a Varisian cleric of Sinashakti: Luck Domain and Travel Domain. Extra Channels, traits for boosted heals. After having teamed with Luck Domain clerics, I thought I'd really enjoy hitting people with Bit of Luck. But man that cleric was just not fun to play at level 1. I really can't stand the lack of Skills. So I can't fault anyone for not wanting to play the dedicated healer. And in except for a few occasions, there just isn't enough combat to make the class as rewarding as it can be.

Krash, the next official PbP begins on April 5. I am seriously hoping we can get this done by then. At this pace, I'm hoping we are skipping the optional encounter...if any.

Guys chill. As long as we all pull together and post daily, We should be able to finish this by April.

To speed it up, I suggest if there's any reactive actions such as perception, initative and saves to be made, let our GM do it.

Ours is to post our actions and have him resolve it.
