So hopefully everyone's back on board... Let's all try and get a post up in the next 24 hours and get this game back on track. And just to reiterate, get on discord in case the site falls over again :)

Hi folks, welcome back :) Hopefully you're all still up for the challenge. Just a reminder to hit that discord link on the previous page in case of future Paizo shenanigans. I'm seriously considering going to D&D Beyond if this happens again, so we'll need another communication channel to make that happen if this site goes pop again.
Looking forward to getting into it again! We're nearing the end of our lull of meeting the setting and getting settled, so get ready to strap in for more action - if and when you choose to pursue a particular plot strand. As it stands, you're to see Alcedor Kolat now after your tour around Waterdeep with Arkiem, Reynwyn may want to seek more info on his missing uncle, Arthur's interested in finding word of the Albino Flind, Carric is being presented with something as we speak, Piety may have personal things to investigate, and Revjak seems to be soaking up his newfound fame as wielder of Azuredge (and would no doubt like to hear what Alcedor can tell him about the obviously enchanted weapon). Also, some of you have spotted tails while out and about in the city. And Kehlann has news as well...
There's plenty to do!
Has anyone downloaded the Adventurer's Guide yet? Just wondering if it's a useful resource for you guys. There are some 2e mechanical options, but it's mostly system neutral stuff.
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
I've downloaded it but I haven't had much of a chance to read over it yet.
As a general point, cheers Hewy for all the background you're bringing into the game. It feels very fleshed out and you clearly know your stuff here.
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
I haven't downloaded it yet, but will do so today. I very much enjoyed reading the descriptions you provide. I say we grant some Inspiration to Hewy!
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10

Aw shucks :)
I ran two pretty long AD&D campaigns in Waterdeep for my high school buddies in the late 90s/early 2000s. One was set in the AQ, one was more of a seafaring campaign based out of Waterdeep. Undermountain got a big run too. My Forgotten Realms campaign setting box set is falling apart, but the City of Splendors and Undermountain boxes are pretty well preserved. Just opened up my old PH to make a character for a Dark Suns AD&D campaign here on Paizo, and some of the pages are falling out :( Anyhow, this material's had a lot of use by me. This campaign is really nostalgic and fun for me, and I'm really glad you guys are enjoying it too.
I'm starting to spoil for a bit of proper adventuring though :) I think we'll go into a bit of character downtime for a week in-game after dinner with Alcedor, and you can all give me a bit of an overview of what you want to do. That may trigger proper encounters, and I'll lead into some options for dungeon crawls or city-based adventures for you to choose from.
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
It's good to know the background of the background. :)
Revjak is starting to get keen on tackling Undermountain. He could be convinced otherwise but various signs seem to him to lead there.
And I'm all for trying out Azuredge against some deserving monsters. :D
Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3
Yep...ready to try new skills with archerype.
So, once we get Piety on D&D Beyond, shall we make the jump? Maybe sort out the downtime here, then get stuck into a particular adventure on the new site?
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
I have no objection to that. I've yet to see DDB go down for weeks. ;)
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
I am also good with that, but I know Carric has some concerns/issues with the DDB site as he is primarily a mobile user. I'm happy either way, but I think at this point I might be happier over on DDB.
What are the main problems there with mobiles? I'm on mobile a lot myself.
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
The biggest issue is not having the text toolbar available and being able to do custom text jobs like adding bold/italics or adding links or spoilers and the like. There used to be an option in the drop-down menu to get access to the Desktop Site, but that apparently was removed during one of the updates to the site. I'll address it with the Mods and see if that was simply and oversight or a permanent change.
I can do that on my phone - I use chrome, and it gives me the option to use the desktop site. A bit of a pain to have to use a different browser for one site if you're not using chrome, but it works.
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
That's good, because whenever I try to do that with my Chrome browser it never seems to work!
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
A recent blog post from DDB about interfaces. They're still working on them.
And cheers Reynwyn for enabling us to use DDB properly.
Max HP: 40 | AC: 19 | Saves: Str: +5; Dex: -1; Con: +5; Int: +2; Wis: +1; Cha: -1 | Init -1 | Current Damage: -0 | Inspiration: [X]
Unfortunately, if you all are going to DDB, I'm going to pass. I use this site from work during my slow time to post, and dnd beyond is blocked.
IF that is what you all want to do, by all means don't let me stop you. You can feel free to even keep Piety as an NPC in the group.
Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but that's a bit of a deal breaker for me. I was a bit excited about the shininess of DDB, and totally over the interruptions here, but I don't want to lose anyone. If everyone else is super keen and happy to say goodbye to Piety, then we can do it, but my vote is no.
Thoughts?
Or, here's another option. I'm about to start playing another game here on paizo, a 2e Dark Sun game, but it has a bunch of players, so instead of that I could run another game for you four on DDB. I'd like to try it out. I don't have anything in mind, so we could brainstorm a new campaign. Just an idea.
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
I definitely do not want to lose Piety by switching this game out to a different site, especially if it is one he cannot access due to restrictions. So I’m okay with keeping our game here. Piety, are you able to get on Discord with your phone? That way we can all keep in contact even with the site outages?
In regards to you running a game over on DDB, I wouldn’t say no to that! I’m having a blast with your GMing style.
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
A big no from me to losing Piety. I'm quite fond of the condescending golem. :)
That said Hewy, I'd definitely be interested in one of your games over on DDB! I'd lean towards 5th edition personally but I'm open to ideas.
Male HP: 33(Temp 7/7)/33, AC 17, Saves Str +0, Dex +5, Con +2, Int +0, Will +0, Cha +5. Bardic Inspiration 3/3 Day. 1st Level Spells 4/4. 2nd 3/3. Inspiration 1/1
I'd be up for another game and don't want to lose Piety, Arthur is still trying to figure out who 'owns' the strange construct in the party.
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
I have notions for a warlock, perhaps sorlock in the future.
More to come re: downtime, that's all I've got for tonight...
Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3
Oh, I get it now. I was not checking both sites...I an on it now. I would welcome another game on DDB. I will post over there to let you know my interests. I still like the idea of the Realms. Sorry about holding us up here.
No probs Cartic, it's been a tough couple of weeks!
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
No worries, Carric! I probably should have explained the better in the Discord discussion!
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
Instead of one stalled game, we're now looking at two solid ones. :D
Gotta say, I have villains and plots well-thought out, but I'm largely making this up as I go along. What's making that super easy is the investment you guys are putting in. Your backstories are giving me heaps to work with, and your three choices for your downtime activities have made things really easy for me to join the general ideas I had with what you want to do. I'm having lots of fun here!
Oh, and expect a sizeable XP award for your excellent RPing efforts since you got to Waterdeep.
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
If you're doing this by the seat of your pants, then I must say you're doing a much better job than I could making up on the fly with all the level of detail! I must say that you are doing a wonderful job providing us with enough detail as well as time/information to make investing into our characters worthwhile! Especially with the extra flavors you've been coming up with for our PCs. For example, Rev's new axe? Very cool! Also, the dream portents? I'm not sure what the others were like, but I have a feeling what mine meant and I'm excited to delve more into that aspect :)
Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3
NPC Roster updated - correct so far I think :)[/b]
Also, I see no reason to hold off on this... I'm awarding each of you 300 XP for roleplaying through this period, which takes you all to 1,200. Great work, folks!

I foresee Reynwyn and Arthur walking in on a bar brawl shortly! LOL
Also, thanks for the EXP!
Carric, did you say you've run through the whole of Curse of Strahd as a player? If so, how did you find it? I'm running a live game for a bunch of noob friends of mine, they're just about to finish up Phandelver, and they're loving it. They'll be nearly level 4 by the time they're done, and I'm thinking of yoinking them into Barovia. Recommend? Tips?
I've already bought the hardcover, so I'm pretty much committed, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it.

I think you will be fine. My tabletop group made it through a few sessions, but no one was a fan of the horror/Ravenloft genre going in. If they have any interest in it, I am pretty sure it it is a quality umdertaking.
Just a heads up, this chase scene requires everyone to take their turns before we can move, so it'd be good to have everyone posting *at least* once a day, or this fun chase could drag on for weeks! Short posts are fine.
Hey, good work everyone getting involved with the chase so quickly. Also, gameplay page just ticked over to 1,000 posts, so going to mark the milestone by giving you all 100 XP - with all the roleplaying, there hasn't been much experience getting handed out!
Good job everyone, loving your work.

I'll await the others, give them a chance to get a word in past Revjak.
Maybe even cut a deal with the guy for feeding false information. ;)

Just wait until 5th level and +10ft movement. ;)
Sorry if my posting gets spotty over the next month, I'm in the final throes of my master's thesis, and it's getting hectic. My pbp priority will be this and the other game I'm running, so don't fear it's going to die or grind to a halt, but there may be days here and there where I don't get on the site.

Cheers folks :)
Also, almost forgot, 1,100 XP for nabbing Breck. He is quite the skilled practitioner (you got lucky...). That's 270 each, for an individual total of 1,570 :)
