Best of luck with your thesis, Hewy!
So, if the deal with Breck is sealed with someone shaking his spit-drenched hand, I'll let you know what he has to say and we can move forward a bit, hopefully hitting some old-fashioned adventuring shortly. I'm really enjoying all the roleplaying, personal investigations, and intrigue, but gotta say, I'm itching for some action!
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
Revjak is not inclined to shake the man's hand, being thoroughly wary of him. He would reluctantly do it if the others convinced him of the necessity.
And yes, it would be great to stretch out the muscles with some monster bashing. :)
Yeah, I've noticed Revjak's not really into all these shenanigans with Breck :)

Okay, so whether or not you take the gnoll job, I just want to make one thing clear. If you have/buy/find an item, it must be on your profile page. So if you buy things, you must deduct the price from your character's wealth entry on the loot sheet, and enter the item on your profile. From now on I'm going to be checking this stuff closely at random intervals. If you don't have something on your profile, you don't have it. If you paid for it but it's not on your profile, I may well make you pay for it again. Everyone cool with that? The only exception is recently found or looted gear that's on the loot spreadsheet under your name; but by the time we finish an adventure you should have put it on your profile. I know bookkeeping sucks, but I have to do tons of bookkeeping running the game, and if you guys do your bit it makes my bit a lot easier.
Now would also be a good time to audit your own profile page and stat lines. A starting point would be checking that you have all the equipment that you own on your profile. Let's everybody get their house in order before you go and smash gnolls :)

Sounds reasonable to me (although I will likely end up with a bunch of money I don't know what to do with, since I don't really gear, bro!)
I'm sure you'll have costly magical experiments to pay for once you regain your former might and glory, so you can show these saveges what real magic is :)
Also, full disclosure, I wrote that little rant above when I got home drunk from our end of term teachers' break up and realised I hadn't updated any of my own characters' inventories in other games for ages... So not actually directed at anyone, just a general reminder to be a better organised player than I am :)

I'm cool with that Hewy. I'm not much of a fan of book-keeping myself, but needs must.
Apart from his weapon, Revjak isn't much of a gear hound. Though perhaps that will change if magic items enter the picture!

Sounds good, Hewy, I will go over Reynwyn's profile and his entry in the loot tracker to make sure all is up to date. Also, I apologize for my lack of posting the past two days. My wife's sister and our nephew were visiting this weekend and I spent a lot of time with my nephew and son.

No worries Reynwyn, it's the weekend :)
Just a heads up, the more you guys give me in terms of proactive interactions with the (admittedly many) NPCs that you've met, the more I'll give you back. It might be more side quests, information, gifts, or just story, but I'll try to give back. Having said that, I don't expect a particularly high level of input from you, so don't feel obliged. I just want you to know that whatever you're keen to explore, be it plots, quests, or detailed and interactive relationships with NPCs, I'm happy to respond to that and weave it in to the game, even make it a major part of the campaign plot.

I'm fine with that take. :)

To keep the math easy, go ahead and donate any partial gold that I end up with to the party fund. I've updated Piety to match the document, and I'm not seeing anything there that I want.
Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3
My profile is up to date, and I think we need to sell everything if no one wants it and split the gold evenly.Carric is updated in the profile.
Just to reiterate, whenever looking at your personal wealth, remember that 1 gp converts in real world money to be roughly $100, although the economy obviously works a little different in D&D. So Carric, though having the least, still has over $2,000 in ready cash. Piety has nearly $35,000. Of course, adventuring is a costly business, at least until the windfalls happen.
As for the items on the loot list, the coins with holes in the middle are taols, worth 2 gp in Waterdeep, worth much less once you get very far away. I'll add those to the party wealth. The ornate dagger is worth selling, and the pipe will get a few silver. The ankheg carapaces will fetch a bit of coin, but I think the plan was to get that made into armour? In any case, they make nice trophies :)
Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3
Can Ankheg shells be converted to breastplate, and if so, what is the cost?
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
I'm good with selling the dagger as well! Also, I think Reynwyn might make a quick trip to visit the wizard and look into returning her spellbook before we depart!
Carric, I haven't really even thought about it yet, but it depends on what the finished product will be. Arthur referenced the Baldur's Gate (?) ankheg armour, which I believe was lighter than equivalent armour, and maybe gave some bonus to acid or poison resistance. I'm thinking we just go with a lighter armour than equivalent. So you could potentially get a breastplate made, which could be half the weight, maybe let you have Dex max 3 bonus instead of 2. It might still cost the same to make as a breastplate to buy, so 400 gp, but it would take some time to make. I would think that you couldn't have had it completed before you left. And when you want to do it, I'll look into it much more. But those are my initial thoughts.
So Reynwyn did you want to visit Lythis Phylund, at the Phylund villa before leaving?
Just waiting to hear what Arthur and Reynwyn are doing on the Ardeep trail, then we can see who these creatures are...
Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3
I would take it to a local blacksmith to get a quote and time for delivery to potentially place the order upon our return.
Alright, sounds good, I'll look into it properly and get back to you :)
It's been a day and a half since asking for actions for the encounter, I'll bot Arthur and Reynwyn in a few hours if we haven't heard from them.

Sorry I was working all weekend with limited time to post, I was catching up but giving priority to the games I am GMing. Posted now.
So got Waterdeep: Dragon Heist today - it has Azuredge in it :) A little different to how I've statted it, though.
No probs Arthur, I focus on games I'm running when I'm busy too.
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
Yes, I am sorry everyone. We were working short yesterday and were absolutely swamped with crashes. By the time I got home, it was a mad dash to help get dinner together, kid bathed, and then off to bed for the early rise today!
Also, yes, I'd like to visit Lythis' place and inquire about returning her book to her.
No sweat Reynwyn :) When your turn's up, remember you're on a horse, so you can move 60'.
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
So I did some reviewing of all my die rolls with Reynwyn and actually determined that in general I have a tendency to roll 11+ on a d20 just slightly more than I do 10 and under. I think I just notice the failures much more than the good rolls. Such as with my most recent posts; two extremely low rolls and two very high rolls.

Gah! I'm glad I went back to try and find some information in previous posts, because somehow I completely missed the post of Breck spilling the beans on his employer. I had a feeling that was the case already with him being a servant of Shar, in fact, I believe he may be the mysterious "V" from the letter. Otherwise, I would have missed all that information.

Newts, I should have checked again if I needed to act before bed.
Ah, sorry Arthur, hope you don't mind too much, might have been a bit trigger happy. What would you have done instead? You can still take a move if you wish.

No it's best to keep the pace going. The action was fine I just feel bad for not checking.
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
The party's done well thus far!
Methinks Arthur's hunt for the pale gnoll will go equally well. :D
Male Half-elf 4th Level Warlock | HP 26/26 (THP 7/7) | AC 15 | Str -1, Dex +2, Con +1, Int +2, Wis +3, Cha +6 | Init +2 | PPerc 13/16 | HD 4d8 | Spells: 2/2 | Conditions: Mage Armor
Reynwyn will split the reward for the spellbook equally with the party. So everyone gets an extra 20gp!

Or we could drop all of it into the party fund jar. I’m okay with either option.
Male CG Human (Reghed) Barbarian 4 (Zealot) | HP: 47/47, Temp: 0/0 | AC: 14 (currently: 14) | Per +2, Stl +3, Srv +2 | Saves: Str +6*, Dex +1, Con +5*, Int -1, Wis +0, Cha -1 | Init: +1 | Passive Perception 12 | Speed 30ft | Inspiration: No| Hit Dice: 4/4, 1d12+3 | Rage: 3/3 | Active conditions: Rage 0/10
I'd lean a little towards party fund, unless someone is 20g shy of something they're itching to buy.

Does casting spells in combat provoke A00 in 5e?
Male Wood Elf Ranger Monster Slayer (Soldier)/4; AC: 16; HP: 36/36; Passive Perception 14; Init +4 (Adv); Saves: Str +2, Dex +6; HD Used 1/3
