Eh...I want to see him take the potion, and it seems a bonus action to do so is reasonable. However, I am not in favor of house-ruling every rule we do not find in our favor, moving forward. This cannot become a slippery slope.
Revjak of the Elk
That's fine Hewy. I'm glad that you're open to debate and feedback.

Will post tomorrow.

Okay, updated the Loot Tracker a little more. I went ahead and made the call on coin distribution since no one chimed in. Everyone gets 600gp split from the large pile we found on the gnoll group and I'm putting 700gp into the party funds.
I moved all the individual funds over to the 'Claimed' section with the extra 600gp added in from the front page. I have no idea if those totals were accurate or not, so if not and you want to track your coinage on that sheet, then you will want to update that yourselves. Also, I like the idea of color-coding the magic items we find via the coloring system and updated the Attuned spot for Carric's bracers. This way we know how many attuned items we each have and whether we are getting close to our maximum.
Speaking of... Azuredge... is that an Attuned item? And what item rarity? Legendary?
Revjak of the Elk
Cheers Reynwyn! Ans good idea on the attuned items. :) Not sure about Azuredge but legendary sounds appropriate. I wonder what all the other items do...
I'm 99% sure that my total was up to date. After all, Revjak isn't in the habit of buying stuff.
Reynwyn
We also have 500gp worth of gems that we will end up distributing as well, and that's on top of whatever else we get from this haul! Hopefully we get some good stuff! :)
Annnnnnnnnd, I'm hoping that maybe when the BBEG gnoll drops some of these others will run away...
Reynwyn
Deal! As I currently do NOT have any Inspiration. Might help land that important attack considering the dire circumstances in which we find ourselves!
Reynwyn
Hey Hewy,
I wanted to check and see if you might be okay with me putting up a little recruitment offerings to all of the amazing players/GM in our group here? I started up my first 5E game this summer here as DM and already lost one player due to life issues arising. I really enjoy everyone here and thought it might be a good pool to try and find another player or two for my game.
Reynwyn
Thanks, Hewy! This invitation extends to you as well if you are keen on playing instead of DM'ing for a change. Right now I have three players (a dwarven Forge cleric, a halfling shadow sorcerer, and a human paladin). Its a homebrew setting that I whipped up with the players and while it will not be as amazingly detailed right now as Hewy's game has been, any of you interested in joining would be very welcome!
Here's a link to the Discussion page and I can provide more information for folks if anyone is interested. We did not get very far off the ground before several issues slowed it down a bit. I'm hoping to get it moving again once I get some more blood in there.
Revjak of the Elk
I'm definitely interested! Any type of character you'd like to see, in terms of personality, motivation, or mechanics?
Reynwyn
Hey all, just a reminder that we all can cast the Message cantrip with the Azure items we received.
Also, Revjak, I'll answer your questions in the other Discussion thread!
Revjak of the Elk
Good catch, Reynwyn!
Arthur d’Cannith
@All Guys when you spend HD during a short rest you get back an extra +1d6 hit points back with Arthur around. I keep saying it but people aren't rolling for the free healing...
Reynwyn
Huh, I always thought bards had to spend an Inspiration point for Song of Rest. That is why I didn't roll unless you had specified it in a post. Now that I know I am mistaken, free HP for all!
*EDIT*
For 4th level I selected ASI for two points into Charisma. I selected Mage Hand for my cantrip and Spiritual Weapon for my new spell. I decided to swap out Sanctuary for Charm Person as I've only cast Sanctuary once thus far and I feel Charm Person would probably give us more bang for the buck!
4th Level HP: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Less than average, so I'll take my 5 HP.
Revjak of the Elk
One more reason I want to play a bard: get used to their mechanics!
Reynwyn
So speaking of remembering things we have as a party, we all need to remember that Reynwyn has access to Guidance which is essentially a free +1d4 bonus to skill checks outside of combat. In combat it's not as good, but outside.... boom!
Also, Hewy, sorry you didn't get a chance to check out my game before all these guys swooped in! Haha, but I mentioned to Arthur in my other thread that for now I'm going to cap the player list to 6 PCs; however, if I decide that have the ability to run two parties I might do two 4-PC parties in the same campaign. I'll keep you and Arthur as my two players should I decide that is an option.
Arthur d’Cannith
@GM Hewy, I have't used Heroism since I got it, it's one of my favourite spells in Pathfinder/3.5 so I effectively ended up reflexively taking it but it's very different. Since we are leveling up would it be alright with you if I replace it with another spell of the same level?
Reynwyn
@Arthur, that option is already baked into your class! Bards/Warlocks (and maybe sorcerers?) have the ability to replace any 1 spell known with another spell known whenever they level!
Arthur d’Cannith
Ah excellent thank you.
HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Jack of All Trades increased to +2
Cantrip: Minor Illusion
Replacing Heroism with Unseen Servant
Lesser Restoration
Feat:
Inspiring Leader
Prerequisite: Charisma 13 or higher
You can spend 10 minutes inspiring your companions, shoring up their resolve to fight. When you do so, choose up to six friendly creatures (which can include yourself) within 30 feet of you who can see or hear you and who can understand you. Each creature can gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Charisma modifier. A creature can't gain temporary hit points from this feat again until it has finished a short or long rest.
So when we are next in action we'll be each walking around with 7 temporary hit points!
GM Hewy
Well hello lesser restoration :) Looks good Arthur!
All looking good so far, in fact. However, hate to be a party pooper, but the house rule was hp roll or half the dice, so Reynwyn you'll actually take 4 for the roll (total is 5, which I think you meant), and Carric you'll take 5 for 7 total hp.
As an aside, just had our second Curse of Strahd session tonight after completing LMoP, my bunch of noob players is loving it (and I am too)! I think 5e has really nailed it for me. There's plenty to gripe about if you get into reddit or other sites and love picking the game apart, but at the table it's just so smooth and enjoyable. Also, CoS is a great campaign.
Reynwyn
Oh! No worries, Hewy, that's not a problem. I'll update my HP to reflect that.
Yes, there are a lot of people that want to nitpick and say about what they could have done better, blah blah blah. Here's my thing, for what it is... 5E is beautiful in my opinion. Is it perfect? No, but I love it. And for what 5E is NOT, well... there's TONS of other options available out there for fit those spots.

*rereads page*
Ah, we levelled up. :D
I'll update after I get home.
Reynwyn
Hey guys, I know I might be putting the cart WAY before the horse with this question, but I'm already starting to look into my 5th level Eldritch Invocations so I can make some decisions when that time comes and there are a few pretty awesome choices that I'm mulling over and wanted to see what the party thought about some of them.
One obvious choice is Agonizing Blast to get my Charisma bonus to my Eldritch Blasts; however, as a party I feel like we do a pretty substantial amount of damage already and think we might be better with some debuff options. The two main ones I'm eyeing are:
- Thief of Five Fates: You can cast Bane once using a warlock spell slot. You can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
OR
Mire the Mind (Prerequisite: 5th level): You can cast Slow once using a warlock spell slot. You can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
Between the two, personally I think Slow is the more potent choice as far as debuffs go, but I know Bane can also be a nice little ability to lower attack rolls against us. I wanted to see if you guys have a preference or a different suggestion.
Revjak of the Elk
Good thinking to plan ahead, Reynwyn. I'd also lean towards slow as we might want to catch someone.
Revjak of the Elk
Barbarian Level 4
Ability Score Improvement: +2 Con -> 16 (+3)
HP: Con increase so +3 from first three levels.
Now taking 10 (average of 7+3hp)
Total: +13 -> 47
Divine Fury: damage is now 1d6+2 radiant
Unarmoured Defense now: 14 AC (10 + 1+ 3)
Reynwyn
Ohhhh, I just noticed the added caveat on Slow about affected enemies as their spells. I never noticed that before, so unless the rest of you guys REALLY prefer me to select the Bane option I'm pretty much set on Mire of the Mind! If only we had that right now.... lol
Revjak of the Elk
It's a thesis submission, so in my book anything beyond "I'm disappearing till this is in!" is a bonus. And best of luck with it. :)
Reynwyn
I'm with Revjak on this, Hewy. Anything you feel up to doing at this point is very welcome from me. If you need to knuckle down and focus solely on that for the next few weeks I don't think you'd hear any complaints from us.
*Piety
Posting this to all my games, so sorry if you see it multiple times:
This week both my office and I personally are going to be moving. It's been crazy busy and I am not going to be able to post until Monday at the earliest. Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in a game I am running, I will get a post up as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.
Revjak of the Elk
I was sick for a number of days there, still a little iffy. But catching up on posts.
Hewy, best of luck with that final push!
