The Avalon Chronicles
Game Master
lynora
This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

There is a high seer here.
Tough, naturally, riviarti couldn't do anything, even though it's her job to find things.
Dude! I'm just kidding
besides, even if the ward to prevent you would be bypassed, the ward to save him would not

Lord Foul II wrote: besides, even if the ward to prevent you would be bypassed, the ward to save him would not What wards?
ahh yes wards.
a magical force that prevents students from harming fellow students and also in the event of injury instant teleport to the infirmary to be attended by nurses and over worked healers.
So...Ghalen is a test tube baby...can you come up with something that would fit him DB3?
the school is warded
there are 2 wards relevant to this discussion
one that whisks rulebreakers to detention
another that teleports injured students to the infirmary

And, pardon me, but you don't need to be concerned with how powerful my characters are or aren't.

That's possible, I suppose.
The test tube Ghalen came from May very well be the reason he could so easily bind with the red dragon.
Ok ok, yousa point is well seen.
The Archimedes project power doesn't have to be unique... Ghalen can use it too if he wants...
Meh. Being able to turn into a huge red dragon is cool enough.
Kryzbyn wrote: Meh. Being able to turn into a huge red dragon is cool enough. o.O oh,
yeah... that would beat most template bonuses
It's not that I wouldn't have tried, Kryzbyn, but I'd need a computer again. It's a lot easier for me to type stuff out that way.
Could I get Dragonborn3 and Kryzbyn (who seem to know the most about the Empire's Tactics) to help me design a background with more detail/believability please?
(more Exact strategies, teachings, and way of belief/thinking of the Empire)
in Private Messages please?
I actually know very little about the empire... ^^;
Dragonborn3 wrote: I actually know very little about the empire... ^^; oh... uhmmm... who does?
well I would assume lyn
whoever does know I would like to be PMed to
He person who knows the most about he empire is the dalesman.
Dalesman is our resident expert on the Empire, but he is unfortunately on hiatus. I know a reasonable amount, and so does Kryz, but specific tactics would probably need to be a question for Dalesman.

the empire wants to portray itself as 'good' to its subjects, like the Empires of old did correct?
a group of people would likely resist an 'utterly evil' governing body, so the Empire Propoganda would need to be strong, What would they tell people, teach people... that sort of thing.
what methods does the Empire use to convert new worlds to convince them?
what are the Emperial beliefs?
actual tactical strategies wouldn't be identical to normal tactics or my character wouldn't be a "prodegy" :)
well for one, the more draconic you are the better you are treated
I actually have the Empire source book, which I can try and use to help out.
Monkeygod wrote: I actually have the Empire source book, which I can try and use to help out. Oooh :)
That'll be quite helpful, thank you Monkeygod
Is that the Starfarer's Handbook MG? If so, I have the same book (in PDF format)
Kryzbyn wrote: I have all of them :) Can you all collaborate to give a decent explaination about what I want to know?
Sure
I can't promise to do so in a timely manner, but I can answer questions you send me via PM.
It might be better to do so by e-mail, if DB3 doesn't care. That was we can have an actual discussion going.

I need the questions ive posted answered first :)
About the propaganda?
Dragons rule us because they are the wisest of all creatures.
They know what's best for us.
Ergo, the society they've set up for us is the best possible.
Trust them and their agents, and report those who would subvert their wisdom.

sorry I can't do email from my phone:/
This game moves foreward at an alarming rate... O.o, I'm online a lot, but there's hardly any way for me to catch up...
Do I have to read everything that happened before I come into the game?

Your character would have no way of knowing, so you really don't have to know the Avalon cast and crew, you can learn as you go, and Lyn can probably give you a vague overview of what the Dragon Empire thinks of the Rebels
as far as keeping up once you get active you learn which other chaarcters yuou are interacting with and follow those.
and follow others as what interests you.
for example Mel and Kai are a couple so even when they are not togather I try and follow his posts as well as mine and those I am directly interacting with.
there are other story arcs going on at the same time but I only casually follow but nothing to in depth.
This is the game on a slow day/week... <_<
FireclawDrake wrote: This is the game on a slow day/week... <_< all my games have been very quiet all day so far.
even other games that I am following have slowed drastically tonight
How fast does it usually go?
Over 100 posts a day sometimes.
Wow! How does Lynora keep up?
With varying degrees of success. ;)
Sometimes she requests we slow down. She is really committed to the game. Every once in a while school builds up on her and the game slows down, but she always gets back to us. :)

with breaks / slow-downs like now.
giving her a chance to have her own life until she is ready to return.
as for players...like mentioned before you don't need to read and respond to everything.
this game is like several games all rolled together. you may not be involved in a particular story so you only need to read as much as you want to keep yourself informed or entertained.
follow your character and who they are involved with and things will be easier / better than it sounds.

Some people have like ten to fifteen characters! How can they keep track?
I think I will only have Iosus for.... awhile/ever
We have the voices in our heads to help keep things straight, of course! ;)
they're on to us
shut up, they can't hear you... lucky them
keep it up and I'll show you some of my previous host's memories, you know, the ones where
shut up shut up shut up shut up
*evil laughter*
