The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"Geysers? Awesome."

Acrobatics:1d20 + 23 ⇒ (17) + 23 = 40 to avoid any geysers

It would be a reflex save or the geyser's to hit versus your Touch AC, if anything.

"To bad Kam went ahead to look for a camp site, he's fire resistant..." Taron says thoughtfully. He concentrates for a moment, glows a faint red, then starts skating out slowly into the geyser feild. "Everyone follow me carefully. Don't worry too much if I get hit by a geyser, this red glow should be enough to keep me from getting scalded."

Manifesting energy adaptation to gain fire resistance 30 for 2 hours.

The whole group carefully followed Taron across the rumbling ground as geysers abruptly shot out at irregular intervals. Unfortunately the group was so large that by the time they reached a spot that had been safe for Taron they might easily find themselves being sprayed with boiling hot water.

Everybody make two reflex saves to avoid fire damage.

Reflex 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Reflex 2: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 Really, dice roller? Really?

lol. yeah, it does that to me too. Lucky for you that it's a flat DC 20. It's not like geysers can really aim all that well. :)

F Sylph

LOL good thing 'cos apparently Nasima is more hurt than she thought after her fall... :-p

"I'm glad it's going well. Most human children take many years to learn all the things you have in such a short time. You learn very well. It sounds like you really enjoy music. I hear you're part of a band. Is that fun?"

She looked around the room curiously. "I would have brought something for you, but I didn't know what you like. What's your favorite food?"

And as we monks can be a bit slow and contemplative at times...some very late Reflex saves (-_-)

Reflex Saves:
1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37

And since the stupid dice roller is cloning my first roll in that post....Grrrr >(

1d20 + 20 ⇒ (16) + 20 = 36

There. Honor is satisfied (^.^)

While everyone is wet and probably a bit uncomfortable, the group manages to make it through the geyser field without any serious injuries. Bradley, Ursula, and the rest of their group peel off from the larger group because Bradley wants to prove how manly he is and how well he can set up a campsite without any help. Ursula just sighs and surreptitiously makes sure that her friend Angela has rope trick prepared for after Bradley fails spectacularly.
I think his superpower might be incompetence. ;)

"So...we should look for a campsite. But not too near here. Geez. It smells like rotten eggs. Actually we all kind of do now. Yuck. One of many reasons to hate camping."

narrator wrote:

I will not doubt the strength of this seemingly useless superpower!

"Do you want me to see if Kam's found a good place?"

[Sniffs his gi surreptitiously, makes a bit of a face] (o.O)

"I do not know if the smell will be a deterrent to other creatures or not, given the...inhospitable conditions of being in the geyser field. We may need to find an untainted water source to clean our clothing and gear."

She breathed a sigh of relief. "Much. Thanks, man. I owe you."

Sorry ya'll...I have a major implementation at work and haven't had alot of time for this...Krays may need to get "recalled" because of a H'Tor/whoops! mishap...I'm gonna be busy the next few days...

F Sylph

Prestidigitation gets rid of smell? Huh. Had no idea.

Is this the type of rope trick that grabs his leg and keeps him from ticking off any more monsters?

No problem. Either you can have his amulet trigger or he just never came along because he's in detention with Spin due to said mishap.

Nasima Shearskye wrote:

Yep. It's the practically all-powerful cantrip. Oh, the things that can be done with prestidigitation. ;)

No, sadly it isn't. But they've gotten really good at swinging him into it after he gets knocked unconscious. :)

A dire bear comes shuffling through the woods and roars at the intruders.

Well it cleans so I'd say it can get rid of the smell as well. :)

"We have...a bear," Fei says as the massive ursine bellows at the group.

Can't think of much more to say in a situation like this. Well, that the filters will allow, at least... (^.^)

"Oh really?"

Ranged touch1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26 entangled for 3 rounds.

Asch says as he reaches out and wraps the bear up in shadows.

Amada makes arcane gestures and casts a spell in an attempt to pacify the dire bear.
Casts charm monster Dc: 22

Keeping a close eye on the bear, Taron covers one ear with a hand and his eyes go purple around the edges as he contacts Kam.

"It.. looks like there is a cave about a mile's walk from here. As far as he can tell it's empty and has been that way for a while."

The bear is quite confused as it is first tangled in shadows and then catches sight of the pretty lady. It wants to follow the pretty lady because she's nice but it can't get free of the shadows pinning it down. It vocalizes its frustration, a moarnful sound as the pretty lady goes walking away where it can't follow her.

"Sounds good to me. Especially since it's getting dark. Let's move quickly. Wouldn't want anyone else to get to that cave before we do."

Oh look I have a new pet for a little while ;) for 13 days. And with my charisma and telepathy I don't have to worry to much about controlling it.

Amada has Asch drop the shadows and allows the bear to follow her.

"Just tell me there aren't too many rocks to climb on the way there. Hooves and rocks don't go well together. These aren't mountain goat hooves, you know."

The bear lumbers after the pretty lady growling and snapping at anyone who gets in its way but otherwise totally focused on staying near Amada.

"Don't worry, Dennis, I'm getting the impression we've just got a slope to handle, and we can always have Kam or Feiri fly you up if you can't make it."

After a few minutes of leading the way, Taron stops and get a weird look on his face. He looks confused, and his eyes dart back and forth like he's trying to read words that are moving too fast.

"I don't believe it.. either Kam's amulet activated because he got hurt or he activated it himself to get away from something that terrified him. He's a good fighter and the one thing that scares him shouldn't be on this island, so neither of those explanations makes any sense..." Taron looks extremely worried.

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

"No, you're right. The only thing giving me that twinge is Amada, and that wouldn't scare Kam off....we did see some large flying things from the beach. Maybe he got ambushed? If his wings were damaged and he fell that would be enough to activate the amulet."

"If we find the spot I can try looking into the past a few minutes to see for sure."

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

Asch loads a chain lightning shell with two more shells in reserve.

"Can we get there in time for that?" Taron asks his sister. "You have a set limit unless Chronos helps you, right?"

Taron Sunwake wrote:

"I only have a minute that I can actually turn back time, but I can look into the past for an infinite amount of time. The hardest part is snapping out of it. But a few minutes shouldn't be any problem at all."

"Then we don't have to hurry, as much as I'd like too. It would be stupid to go there and be tired only to find whatever made him leave is still there." Hu turns to lead the way again, his fists opening and closely as he restrains himself from hurrying and leaving everyone behind. "I shouldn't have let him go alone... If only I could fly everyone there!"

Ephebe/Jiminy:
An afterthought, filled with resentment, comes from Taron.

::Curse this cage my ancestors made...::

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

Taron:

Spoiler:
::We'll find out what happened. Kam is okay, I'm sure of it. And one of these days I'm going to have to show you why they made this cage. Yes, they made a lot of mistakes, but it helps to understand why. When you're not totally freaking out. The last message from Conchoid...someday I'd like to shove that down the throats of the damn dragon council.::

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

"Would it be better if we teleported to the spot? If Taron can tell where Kam was when he disappeared we might be able to get there now."

Image

He tries to stay in the background for the most part. He didn't like outside, and while he was worried about what took Kam out, he was pretty sure Kam was safe and sent as much reassurance as he could to Taron while surreptitiously helping Dennis over underbrush and such in order to speed their travel up.

Honestly he didn't really share his siblings' frustration with their 'cage' as they put it. He liked it here. He'd like it better if less people were trying to kill them. That would definitely be a plus. But a contained world had serious advantages.

"Yeah, I think that would be a lot better," she said, looking at Taron with concern.

Ephebe:
::Agartha is a shield that has turned into a cage, and it didn't do a good job of being a shield, did it?::

Taron walks over to Asch and places a hand on his forehead, giving him the location in painstakingly accurate detail.
"Do it if you can, Asch."

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

Taron:

Spoiler:
::No. No, it didn't. I respect why they made it though even if they did do everything wrong.::

She does her best to help herd everyone together quickly so that Asch can teleport them.
