starlight makes it to the lunch room and sees others eating she heads over , well kind of pops into being on the table and takes out from bag a tinny dinner set and gets some coffee and rolls. sits crossed legged and lissens to what the other students say
Like clockwork, Fei was up well before sunrise, quickly making his cot before ensuring there were no overnight tasks that needed to be addressed in the Materials and Supplies building. That done, he makes his way to the western green, where Vai is already waiting.He greets her warmly, nodding with approval at the harp by her side, before beginning his morning katas and obeisances to Lathander.
After dealing with the kobold, Ace finally makes it to the cafeteria, grabs a tray and piles on pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns and toast, along with a giant glass of orange juice. He then heads to a table, props his staff up and digs in, enjoying his huge meal.
starlight has to jump out of the way as Ace puts hes tray down.
"look out big man! some of us are eating down here"
Ace starts slightly "Oh my, I'm sorry. Didn't see you, are you ok?"
Starlight stands (all of her 6" tall) and bushes off here cloths,
"yes just some bread on me nothing to bad, well you your going to meet some one best tell them your name, I am Star very nice to meet you errrm?"

He takes her little hand gently in between his thumb and index finger, and lightly shakes her hand "Please to meet you Star, I'm Casil, or Ace if you so choose. My full name is much longer and hard to pronounce, even for me sometimes" He says with a chuckle.
in an instant shes no longer on the table but standing on his shoulder, it felt as if she moved through you ace. Not unpleasant but odd.
"Ace, now that's a name, that says 'I want to be the best' she says chuckling. A fine name, could you tell me what is every one here early or am I late, I could be, I have problems with time you see, wibbly wobbly stuff time you see always running away with itself."

Renkai watches the growing crowd with interest, noting where the people sit in relation to each other as they break down into their cliques.

Vai was seated, lightly and absently plucking the harp. Eventually she settles on a melody. Peaceful and tranquil. Perfect to welcome the rising sun, when the world was still quiet. She seems to glow with her own inner light as the sun rises - and perhaps she does. Not unheard of, considering her patron.

Kezzin extends his hand, A pleasure to make thy acquantance, Ace. Avalon, eh? As good a place as any, I suppose. Perhaps someone here can explain to me why I am what I am not.

[i]Fei returns Vai's smile, unsure of her intent but glad for her company. That final moment as he finishes his kata is a picture of beauty out of any Lathanderan's dreams, he thinks to himself in a moment of inspiration...
The moment passes, and Vai leans forward slowly, and lightly, tentatively, kisses Fei's cheek.[/i]
...and then a small temblor rocks the earth around Avalon, the only disturbance in an otherwise peaceful morning. Thankfully, it passes after a few seconds.

The young monk stands there, eyes wide and very concerned...then very perplexed....and finally registering what happened (or, more importantly, what did not happen).
He raises his hand to his cheek, a new smile crossing his face like the sun parting dark clouds after a storm. He slowly stretches that hand out to cup Vai's cheek, stopping just before he touches her because he knows he cannot.
"Thank you," is all he says. The emotion, the joy, the...life behind those words, though, is like a palpable wave over her.

It had been more terrifying than facing down a demi-god in his element, but Vai had managed to do it. Her heart was beating like a hammer despite her outward appearance. She was surprised she had been able to keep calm enough to play the harp. It was all worth it. Fei's smile wasn't his usual politeness, or even the fond caring smile that was reserved for her. It was full of hope. Her heart was slowing, the fear receding, replaced by pride, and a sense of peace. She didn't flinch at Fei's outstretched hand, though moved no closer, knowing Fei's limits.
Tears of joy well up in her eyes when Fei thanks her. The passion... and again there was hope. "We don't have to walk our paths alone. Though the road is winding, may ours will wind together that we might walk side-by-side." Vai was sure she had read that somewhere - some book of poetry - but it fit here.
Albin smirked. "Well, I guess I better get back to Jaiye," he spat out her name like it was a curse, "or I won't be able to trick her into doing what we want. Maybe I'll see you after the assembly," he said, bidding Kris goodbye for now and heading back to join the girls.
Raelle laughed when Dave asked about her brother-in-law. "So, you've met Professor Sunwake. She has four kids. The youngest one, Vai, is still a student, but the others graduated. Actually Vai is adopted, which only requires explanation if you see them when they're in dragon form since she has different color scales. Anyways, the triplets....the oldest is Ephebe, and she teaches my sisters' class. And then there's Taron, who I've never met because he's been off-world since before I got here. And then there's James. He's the one who's married to my sister. He often goes by Jiminy. Weird nickname, but he's kinda a weird guy. He actually has factories in town where they build spaceships and giant robots. Anyway, he has a major reputation at this school for the general epicness of his pranks when he was a student. I missed that since by the time I got here he'd discovered responsibility on account of Fieri, that's my sister. But I've heard all kinds of stories. Last year he dumped slurk slime all over the student council president during orientation."
"No, I don't think the Desna candles will be too much....but there will be detention. So, you know, make it worth it," she said with an impish grin.
As the time for the start of orientation neared Ephebe ushered the younger students into the section of the auditorium that had been set aside for them.
"Stephanie, no pushing, please. All of you move quickly to your seats in an orderly fashion. Jennith, this is not an appropriate time to use that whoopee cushion, put it away or it will be mine. Ignace, it won't kill you to have to sit next to Torrim. He had a thorough flea bath last night. Torrim, I don't care what form you choose, but pick one and stick with it."
*lounges in his seat looking for all the world like he's asleep while he waits for the assembly to start*
"cool, so all of them are dragons, that's freaking awesome, and he builds space ships? that's pretty cool, next weekend or so I might want to check it out"
after she says the part about the candles he then gets a contemplative look on his face.
"hmm detention before school even starts... maybe I could hide that I did them... no I'm already going to do the confeti cannons and the like the'll look to me first unless someone else is also doing something... hmm this bears considering"
he ponders for a bit and turns to skeets "set up the Desna candles just in case, I'll decide when it comes time"
"Uh sure, probably" Ace says slightly confused. "Anyways, I'm rather hungry, so I'm off to the cafeteria. Feel free to come along"
After finishing his breakfast, including getting a second large glass of orange juice, Ace checks the time. "Cool, still have a half hour before orientation"

Umbri seats herself in the back of the new student section orientation with Rin. listening to the orientation and keeping a close eye on her flighty friend.
Rin sits herself Next to Umbri. aware she is being watched. and informed that sneaking around wasn't such a good idea.
Kezzin follows Ace into the building, but turns aside short of the cafetiera when he sees a sign indicating the direction to the headmaster's office.
Perhaps I should pay a courtesy to the person in charge of this institution. I thank thee again for thy assistance, Ace; perhaps I shall see thee again.
With a short bow, Kezzin walks swiftly away.
When he reaches the headmaster's office, he knocks firmly on the door and waits for an answer.
Albin smirked. "Well, I guess I better get back to Jaiye," he spat out her name like it was a curse, "or I won't be able to trick her into doing what we want. Maybe I'll see you after the assembly," he said, bidding Kris goodbye for now and heading back to join the girls.
Krisilanni just gave Albin a nod as he stood up, and then he stood up himself, done with his tray of food. "Just remember; don't tell either of them what the hat does, and don't tell them how to fix it," he reminded him, just to be on the safe side. And with that, he put away his food and then attempted to find his way to the auditorium, which he figured everyone else would be heading for that orientation.
Lang was sitting by Tres until the other younger students came in.
Lang goes to Ephebe and bows to her
Lady headmaster, If you need any assistance I would be glad to help with these younger ones. back home I had to help teach our forms to them I gained alot of respect from them
He looks over the younger students for any getting out of line.
until one sticks his tongue out at Lang and with a motion of his hand a blast of air nearly knocks him off his seat but also serves the purpose to let jim know he was caught.
Lang helps him to get back up it seems drafty in here you should be careful the wind can due some funny things
