The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

Rosa: if you are watching the door you see nothing.
if you are watching Treisdan: as each of the spirits talk their sign manifest on me.
Marchosias: glowy eyes
Haures: reversed hands
Dantalion: faces on chest

btw... these conversations are taking about 5 mins in game each

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

::We refer to You in general... The young ones, the ones without the memories of a leniage... He believed that he was wise, he believed nothing could harm him and he was always right. He was wrong::
The being seems in no hurry to question your presence

Image

"That belief is not limited to the young. Gods are as likely to fall prey to it as mortals."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

::True but always questioning the old ways leads to Anarchy, and false wisdom. And as gods fall prey to it seldom, the young walk hand in hand with it everyday....::

horrifyingly you see the face of a former student in the terrifying conglomeration. Juno Verantus; an unremarkable student who was stepped on by the gear wyrm. she chose not to come back to life.

::We must ask why you who are powerful risk yourself for he who is weak. another healer could do this, you could have waited for his souls to come into harmony naturally, Why did you choose this?::

"Sometimes the old ways are wrong. Questioning does not always lead to overthrowing. That is wisdom too."

She does not flinch or look away when he shows her the image of one of the students they had not been able to save. She forces herself to look straight at it.

"It is my atonement. In remembrance of great harm I once caused. Before I learned to question. And harm done in anger before I learned restraint."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

Not image, and he isnt deliberately showing it either, she is really there

::We didn't say that questioning was always wrong, nor did we say that it always led to overthrowing.... Is Haures Correct? Do you only come to help yourself, your concence? ease the pains of your past?::

The stars surrounding them are moving, but Miss jones feels no sense of movement.

Image

She could see among the stars constellations that she remembered from the island. they hadn't been real stars. And she would never see them again. But she had thought them beautiful at the time.

"A healer who has never been broken is poor at their craft. You asked why I did not let another healer come here or let nature take its course. I answered. There is no ease for my burden. I am cursed." She said it matter-of-factly, no attempt at apology or persuasion. "It is my atonement. To help these young ones find another way so they do not have to follow my path."

Treisdan:
She isn't kidding about being cursed. It would take direct intervention from a deity to remove it.

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

::We too are cursed. We find no dwelling in the afterlives of the gods, our family line, from begining to end is here, All of us.::

Their voices sound saddened

::we feel your pain, we know your loss, and for that empathy, we shall assist you. Follow Dantalion, Star Emperor.::

she feels a sudden queasiness like she had just gotten sucked through a straw, deposited, blown back up to normal then turned around a bunch of times

The stars blur into streaks and lines as she arrives in a throneroom, behind the throne, Treisdan is in chains at the foot of the stairs leading up to the throne and the back of the throne is to her

Image

She approached the throne.

"Treisdan."

"You cannot continue like this."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

from the throne:
"he Deserves to be destroyed. He betrayed me."
From the one in chains:
"I did what was nessicary, I did what I had to to survive... Even if it meant I had to try to destroy you. I should've done so sooner..."

Marchosias, Dantalion and Haures are all standing on the steps in front of the throne.

Image

"It is a difficult thing to be at war with yourself. You are not the first. You will not be the last. But you certainly have a flair for the dramatic about it," she said, the ghost of a smile hovering on her lips.

"But not I think as suicidal as you currently sound. You cannot kill a part of yourself only. It would destroy the whole of you. This is not about who has the right to exist, only who has the right to rule."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

The one on the throne:
"Who are you?"

From the vestiges:
"she is a healer, this is true... she passed the test of Truth"
"she is a monster, she failed the test of Others"
"she is a teacher, she passed the test of Reason"

"If I was such as you, then destroying him would in fact kill me. But I am not such as you. With my power I could sever the last shred that keeps us bound, then I could kill him with Impunity"
As he speaks he gestures to the shadows cast on the floor, Treisdan's two shadows fall across each other opposed to where they would fall with the lights in the places they are.

Image

She nodded in acknowledgement as the vestiges named her.

"I am as they say. I am also more, and less."

She sighed and took off her suit jacket. She folded it up impossibly small and put it inside her pocket. Her clothes change appearance, becoming a short simple tunic and sandals instead of a conservative suit and sensible shoes. Song surrounded her. Water rushed out of the ground in front of her becoming a small river. The river flowed into a larger body of water that appeared boundless.

"You think you are the ocean. Without the river your power is still so great that it cannot be affected by the loss of one small river."

The larger body of water was revealed to be much smaller than it previously appeared. The river was dammed and the water began to dry up, the small sea becoming smaller and smaller.

"You are not as you think you are. Do not disregard what you were or who you will be will pay the price for it."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

He gestures and creates a river of lava, the lava flows through the throne room.

"Your point is well made teacher. But I am not Damming the river."

at another gesture a stone wall slams into it lengthwise

"If it helps you to use images such as this... then look."

the river of lava is split so that it flows in two different directions.

"I am not Damming the river, The river has forked. I am simply removing an unneeded tributary that is threatening to take the river in an unwanted direction"

The Treisdan on the floor in chains pleads to her.

"you must not let him get rid of me, without me there is no him, You must convince him...."

Image

"And how can you be certain which picture is the truth until you are forced to pay the price for it? Is it worth the risk?"

"I knew someone a long time ago who thought as you do now. She will never be done paying the price for it. I wish for better for you. There are other ways. It is not too late for you."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

"If I allow him to live then he shall try once again to take my place... I cannot allow him to do that."

"Please Lady...."

Image

"But he is you. You do not have to be divided."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

"We are Devided" he shouts slamming a steel shod staff onto the floor.

"Once we were one, then I learned that What we Were cannot be What we Are!"

"Treisdan Achdarach, I find you Guilty of all crimes, for this you are to be destroyed, From this moment onward we are not one" he stands up and slams the end of the staff onto the overlapped shadows

Image

"And so you become what you wanted to destroy...that is the burden you have chosen. I am sorry. I failed you." Her voice was filled with sadness.

For just a moment there is a watery scene almost visible. A flame inside a temple of some sort. And a pair of hands throwing a bucket of water on the flame. The ground starts to shake. The dark-haired beauty from the earlier memory rushes in. "Calliope! What have you done?"
"I had to! It's wrong! And it will never ever stop! It has to be destroyed!"

Fei, of the Sun Soul wrote:

The young monk does not turn back around until he has left the Cafeteria, and in fact watches him with an almost palpable focus until he is out of sight. He then sighs and turns to Vai.

"What...happened here?" he asks simply.

Vai's face scrunched up a bit as the smile faded. "Grandmother told me to help evacuate, and he wouldn't leave. He was ignoring me!" Vai pauses, looks at the ground. "Like I didn't even exist. I hate that. I've lived that. I survived. I exist. I deserve to be treated like a person."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

There is a giant crash, a thunderous boom and you are no longer standing in the throne room but on a desert wasteland with a huge crater in it.

a small voice comes from the Treisdan that is left, "I had to get rid of him, I couldnt let him control me again..."

Rosa: if your looking at me... I am now smoking, like about to burst into flame smoking...

She sighed. "And now you have to bear the consequences. They will not be light."

A huge wave crashed through the parched landscape, turning the crater into a deep lake.

Miss Jones pulled out her jacket and unfolded it, putting it back on. Her clothing transformed back to the sensible shoes and conservative suit she had been wearing before. She pulled out a silver comb from one pocket and with swift practiced stroked tamed her wild hair, pinning it back into the severe knot she usually wore it in. She pulled her glasses out of the other pocket and put the back on. She straightened her jacket.

"I am afraid there is nothing further I can do for you at this time, Mr. Achdarach. I would appreciate it if you did not share what you saw of me during this excursion. I do not choose to share my past with my students. I took the risk in this case in an attempt to help you. I regret that it did not work," she said crisply, her voice diminished to something quite ordinary sounding.

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

"If he got control Noone would be safe.... I am sorry for dissapointing you... But it had to be done..."

A black cloud rises off of treisdan, after it grows into a bulbous cloud with darkened eyelike patches, it dwindles into itself dissapearing.

"I will lead you out Ms....?"

the black cloud doesnt register on the monitoring equiptment or on the security systems. It is only visible to the naked eye

Fei's face saddens a bit as Vai's smile vanishes like the winter sun behind clouds.

"I...am sorry he acted that way toward you, Vai - every one here deserves to be treated like a person. His pride will make his time here very...difficult...until he learns to be respectful of those around him."

He crouches down on his knees so he can actually meet Vai's downturned gaze.

"Please do not let the callous actions of a stranger, who knows nothing about you, bring you despair. He holds no such power over you...and I would much rather see you smile again than worry about his perception of you." :)

Vai couldn't help once again breaking into a smile. She couldn't help it. "It must have been a powerful god I pleased to deserve you. Somehow, you always manage to make me smile."

Vai reaches out a hand as if she was going to help him stand back up straight. She looks nervous, but at the same time determined.

"That is a feat for which I will allow myself a small measure of pride, then" he answers, smiling back.

Fei puts his arm out, elbow bent and hand closed into a fist, so his wrist is in her reach to help him up if she wishes. After what happened at the table, he hopes this 'compromise of contact' will be less stressful for her to do since she will have full control of it...

"I am Miss Jones. The enchantment teacher. And that won't be necessary. Good day, Mr. Achdarach. Or rather good night. You will rest in the infirmary until you are fully recovered."

She turned to leave and then turned back. "And it did not have to be done. It was what you chose to do. That is the first hard truth that you are going to have to learn to accept."

With that she turned and began to walk away, pausing for a moment as if listening to the strange cloud before continuing on beginning to fade from view more and more with each step until she disappeared.

She opened her eyes and stood up. She walked out of the room, stopping to tell the healer that it would be alright to untie the student in isolation now. And then she headed outside to the new lake. It was not the ocean, but it was worlds better than the swimming pool.

Vai gently takes Fei's proffered wrist, and helps him to stand. She is shaking much less this time, but it does look like she is making an effort not to. Noticing the time, Vai suddenly realizes that Ace had been the last to leave the cafeteria. She and Fei were alone. "We... we should probably go to bed, shouldn't we?"

And scene!

Nice. ;)

"...I believe I still have some freight to unload for all of the new arrivals before I turn in, but I will walk you to your room so you may get some rest," he says with a nod of agreement. :)

They leave the Cafeteria, and Fei drops her off at her door with a deep bow and hopes that he will see her at dawn. He then makes his way back to the Materials and Supplies building (bowing respectfully to Miss Jones as he passes the new lake) and completes his work-study duties before finally retiring for the evening.

The excitement of the first day finally gave way to the relative calm of night as the students eventually all made their way to bed.

During the night notices were slipped under each student's door.

ORIENTATION NOTICE: All students are required to attend orientation in the auditorium at 10 am. No exceptions. Those who choose not to attend will receive a very different orientation presentation in detention. The detention room was updated over the summer into a sim room much like the ones now used for PE. Professor Relkav was extensively consulted on the design. This is something to consider when making your decision which orientation you will choose to attend. Any student not in the auditorium bu 10:10 will be teleported to the alternate presentation in detention.

Morning posts may now commence.

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

Treisdan wakes up at about 8:30 and after a (very extensive) check up, was allowed to go to his room and grab a shower/prepare for the day.

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

Vai had in fact managed to wake up in time for Fei's usual morning routine. Except instead of books and studies, she brought her harp with her today. Fieri's lessons had been paying off. Though Vai was in no way a great player, you could probably say she was good. She usually plucked the right string anyway. She was a little early at the pair's usual spot.

Ace wakes around 8ish, showers and then gets dressed. Buckling on his belt, he grabs up his staff and makes his way to the cafeteria for a delicious breakfast, his favorite meal.

As he opens his door, he sees the note. After reading it, he tosses into a recycling bin he creates That's right ladies, he's environmentally conscious then heads to get something to eat before the orientation.

Roel wakes up around 6:30. moans, and then stays in bed until 8. He then gets up, reads the note, and gets ready for the day, not really paying attention to his roommate until he gets up.

the drip turns more into a stream, and then forms a large puddle on the floor. it moved around, and then a bubbling voice could be heard from it. (it sounds really distorted.) "Hunh. So this is where this pipe leads."

Male Kitsune Oracle/Soulknife (16 Gestalt)

As morning rolled around, Krisilanni suddenly kicked in his sheets and work up with a surge of energy, having just awoken from a dream full of zombie tricksters trying to tell him that he was a woman and should accept his fate as a fashion model. "I am not my mother!" he yelled rather loudly as he awoke, then suddenly came to his senses. "Oh, wait, mom was a stay-at-home wife..." he reminded himself as he looked around the room, and saw a bunch of stuff that he swore wasn't his.

"The crap is all this stuff?" he asked himself aloud as he slowly got out of bed. He then saw that there was another bed in the room, but no one in it; weird. In any case, he soon realized that he was starving, so off to the cafeteria he went. He hoped there wouldn't be any strange things in red hats that would bother him this time, though he still had his own hat that the thing gave him in his pocket. Before he got out of the room, though, he noticed a piece of paper on the floor; something about orientation that he had to go to, which he was going to, anyway; he pocketed the paper along with the rest of his stuff and made his merry way to the cafeteria.

8 posts before I got mine done, and I'm not retconning at all; just assume that he was gone before you showed up, Treisdan.

"Oh hi! it seems your sentient." it bubbles, then forms into a humanoid form. It seems to be amorphous, And is wearing no clothes. It is built like a male, and has no genitals. it is thin, and drips occasionally. it has a glow of pestilence in his eyes, and it smells like dead things burning. The ground dissolves slowly where it stands. it removes the head of the shower, pulls a whip, covered in the same caustic material it is, from the shower, and says- "Hi! what's your name?"

Male sorcerer 16 wilder (leader/telepath) 3 elocater 2, thrallherd 1, pyrokineticist 10.

I'm going to repost my previous post with a few minor modifications
dave wakes up early in the morning roughly 8-7:30 in the morning blinks twice before hearing a sound like sand falling on something very fast it's the closest sound I could think to a plasma cutter sound, in actuality it's skeets taking advantage of the fact that he is a construct, not requiring sleep, he's using his mindblade he then blinks twice again and then smiles realizing where he is, and sits there for a bit simply enjoying the feel of the magic in the air wafting over him, he then gets up meticliously combs his hair and cleans his teeth and even polishes his arms and chest for good measure and calls skeets to him
"breakfast time skeets, the day waits for no man, and I am hungry, let's go check on Raelle before we eat, sound good?"
"if you say so Sir, but couldn't she still be asleep?"
"hmm possibly... would it be creepy to scry on her to check?"
"very much so sir.. not everyone is an exhibitionist.. and you have yet to solidify the relationship formally yet"
"I didn't mean it like that...Look, I'm just going to go on my usual morning run, and then I'll go to check on weather or not she's awake then"
"sound's good Sir!"
"you stay here for a half hour and get some more work in, meet me at her room then"
Dace exits his room and finds the notice affixed to his door and says "huh, guess I'll have to make sure to go there too," he then proceeds to run on the exterior walls, not particularly caring what he is runing on as he is not familiar with it yet, the rock on rock thudding can be heard inside if anyone in the rooms he walks on is awake or a light sleeper,he happens to run on the headmaster's office, Ace's room and Raelle's room, compleetly without noticing he then spends 10 miniutes simply stretching his wings before going to see if Raelle is up yet.
is a 41 craft check to the standards of the teacher?
