Phaezeriel |
Vakkler blinks. "That...should be fine. Alright, then. Right this way."
The kobold turns and heads for the oft-visited Headmaster's office.
Phaezeriel pads quietly along at the kobold's heels, chafing that yet again, his despicable kin have caused him trouble.

"Those of you wanting to quit, let's makes this faster. Pass your resignations to the front of the line and remember the confidentiality contract you all signed when you came to work here. Have a nice day."
"Next person who isn't an ex-teacher please."
There is a flurry of paper, and a large pile of resignations are shoved into Ryo's hands before there is a mass exodus of disgruntled former teachers anxious to shake the dust of this accursed school off of their shoes.
Ephebe |
Ephebe gets up and nearly runs into Krays coming into the room.
"Hey, umm....it seems I have a bit more stuff than I originally thought I did," she said sheepishly, "so we need some kind of cart or something. Fei might know where to find one. And since I'm not supposed to wander the halls alone, I either need someone to go with me or someone to go for me."
Krays |
"I'll go with then."
Ephebe |
"Alright," Ephebe said cheerfully. "'Sima, would you mind finishing the sorting for me since your winds are doing such a great job of it?"
Barely waiting long enough to hear the reply, she and Krays head out to look for Fei.
"I guess we should probably start with the Materials and Supplies Building. That's where he usually is."
Ephebe |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Vai is close behind Krays, her eyes still rimmed a little with red. She peaks into the room and sees the tornado of clothing, turning pale. "How much stuff do you HAVE Ephebe?!"
"Ummmm......I don't know where it all came from.....it's like the clothes multiply when I leave them alone in the closet," she mumbled, embarrassed.
Long-running brotherly prank finally coming to fruition....her clothes actually do multiply every time she closes the closet door. :)
Ephebe |
Ephebe and Krays hurried off in search of Fei and found him sooner than expected as he was on his way inside.
"Fei," she called out. "Just the person we were looking for. Um, the thing is, we were trying to move my things out of my old room and it seems that I have quite a but more in the way of clothes than I thought I did. So Nasima mentioned something about big wheeled carts that are sometimes used for laundry....so I was wondering if there was anything like that in the school. And I thought you might know."

"Hello," Fei replies as he bows to the two of them. After hearing Ephebe's idea, he thinks for a moment before speaking further.
"There...are rolling pallets in the Materials and Supplies building that are used where the larger machines cannot safely maneuver, as well as large containers that some of the larger fruits and vegetables arrive in. I would think placing one on the other would make for an efficient conveyance for your effects."
Ephebe |
Ephebe wrote:Long-running brotherly prank finally coming to fruition....her clothes actually do multiply every time she closes the closet door. :)*humms innocently*
And I totally would hgave suspected the other brother....huh. Although if it's set specifically for the closet than Vai is in for quite a surprise when her wardrobe suddenly expands itself. :)
Fei, of the Sun Soul |
"Yes, that would be perfect! Thanks, Fei! Can we go and get those things now? I think the sooner we get this done the better. After all, Vai can't move in until I move out."
"I...think so," he replies, turning around (and surreptitiously glancing at his cuffs to make sure they were 'okay').
Fei leads them back to the Materials and Supplies building and speaks to the foreman on duty. After a few moments, he nods and Fei goes off - and returns with a large container resting on a rolling pallet, as promised.
"Will this be sufficient?"
Fei, of the Sun Soul |
"It should be," Ephebe said cheerfully. "This is a lot more efficient than boxes. 'Sima was right about that. She's back now, you know. Want to drop by, say hi....You guys used to talk a bunch, right?"
"We spoke when she arrived during the incursion," he replies with a nod as he maneuvers the pallet onto the walkway to the school. "But it might be easier if I assisted in at least moving this once full, if not in the packing." (^-^)
Ephebe |
"Thanks, Fei. That sounds like a great idea....between 'Sima, Vai, me, and Krays none of us are exactly big and burly....at least not in any form that we're allowed to wander the halls in," she said with a wink. "We could definitely use the help."
With Fei and the pallet/crate contraption in tow, they headed back to the room.
Gustav Stonecutter |
Gustav finally found his room. Or, at least the arrows on the map stopped moving once he got to a certain room. The door opened at his touch. Inside was a plain bed, stout wooden desk and chair, a footlocker, and walk-in closet. Gustav took a look around, setting down his backpack. The stone walls were covered in some kind of fragrant wood. A narrow window had real glass in it; the boy closed his door and raised the window frame to let in the midday breeze. (Boys' dormitory or wing?)
Gustav looked at the plain walls. Nobody said I couldn't decorate. Gustav thought to himself. He snapped his fingers, and woodworking tools appeared in his hands. Gustav began carving the surface of the wall.

Unisex dormitory....boys and girls don't share rooms except in special cases, so you wouldn't end up with a female roommate, but it's entirely possible that the room next door might be occupied by female students.
Kitty Tanaka |
Kitty did her best with the sandwiches, but they tasted strange to her. She had never adjusted to this style of food. She should have tried harder to learn to like it. Once she was finished eating she bowed respectfully to Michael's mother once again.
"Thank you for the food, Dacamara-sama. I appreciate the effort you put into making it." She paused. The risk of being insincere was disappearing so she couldn't just not say anything. "I'm sure they were very good, but I'm not used to this kind of food. It's my own fault. I should have been more adventurous when I was at school and tried harder to get used to other types of foods. I will do my best to learn to appreciate the type of food that is eaten here," she said all in a rush.
Michael Dacamara |
"That's okay, Kitty, I don't mind. I can make my husband eat the rest."
"Hey!" Michael's dad protests. "What if I wanted something else to eat?"
Michael's mother puts her hands on her hips and fake huffs.
"Are you saying my cooking is no good?"
"Now would be the time to go, unless you want to copy Anthony's retching. Last time they started this it lasted for hours." He gently picks up Saffire and quickly makes his way out into the hallyway, where he waits for Kitty. "They always started that when Anthony or I had friends over."
Kitty Tanaka |
Kitty laughed. "It's so different from my family. I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do. It's so much less formal."
"And people wear shoes...in the house! I've gotten used to it mostly at school, but somehow being in a house makes it seem that much more shocking. Not as shocking as chairs...you really should have seen me the first day of classes. It was amusing to say the least. But since no one noticed me my tendency to sit on the floor didn't bother anyone." ^.^
Kitty Tanaka |
"Yes, shoes. Amazing isn't it?" Michael winks at Kitty. "Why, next thing you know, you'll find out I don't sleep pn a pallet on the floor or something!"
"I do," she admitted sheepishly. "I still haven't been able to get used to sleeping on a bed....so every night I drag the mattress off and sleep on the floor instead, like I'm used to."
Phaezeriel |
Phaezeriel pads into the headmaster's office and after glancing around to ensure that no one else was present, he shifts back to his natural form and lands on a seat in front of the headmaster. Headmaster Ryo? I am Phaezeriel. Some few days ago, I found myself in a very untenable situation. I was rescued from certain death, but as a condition I was sent here to report to you. Phaezeriel offers the letter or acceptance to the Avalon Academy to Ryo.
Kitty Tanaka |
"Should that matter to me?" Michael asks, leaning in to give Kitty a quick kis. "I used to sleep on swaying branches. Helped me sleep easier."
"Really?" she asked, curious. "Weren't you afraid of falling if you rolled over in your sleep?"
Phaezeriel |
For 147 years, I have been working against my nature. I seek not to harm others unless they earn it, I practice no deceit, no treachery, and I seek not to lead mortals into corruption. I seek only to help those who need it, and to learn more of the skills I have learned since my master died. I have taught myself the arts of the wizard, and honed my mind into a formidable weapon.
43 years ago, I helped a small group of church knights defeat an attack of demons. Since that day, I have been hunted by demons and devils alike. Four days ago, I was cornered by several very powerful demons who prevented my escape by any means, my magic was exhausted, my mind was tired, and three of them still lived. I was about to die.
I do not know if I will be banished to the Abyss if I am killed like a normal demon, but I had no desire to find out. When I heard a voice in my mind offering me a chance to live, and knowing that it was not a fiendish voice, I accepted the offer. I was teleported away from my enemies, though the interdiction magic the other demons employed should have prevented that. When I became aware of my surroundings once more, I was standing in a forest clearing holding that letter, and this one which gave me directions to this building. Phaezeriel offers another paper, showing simple directions to Avalon.
Headmaster Ryo |
"Hated by your own kind because you are not like them..." Ryo mutters, looking over the directions himself. Why did the writing look so familiar? "Despite my better judgment, you couldn't lie to me in this room, so I have to ask... do you want to stay here? We suffered an invasion from the Lower Realms not two days ago, and no one is quick to forget that here."
Kitty Tanaka |
Kitty Tanaka wrote:"Really?" she asked, curious. "Weren't you afraid of falling if you rolled over in your sleep?""Nah, I just had to be sure I was wearing my granfather's ring before going to sleep. I woke up on the ground a lot."
"Well, that explains it....On ships they use these rope nets called hammocks. They hang them from the ceiling and they sleep in them at night....at least that's what my uncle told me. I bet it would work pretty well in a tree too."
"So...what now? There's so much to see here...I don't even know where to start. It's all so new."
