This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Enre finishes his letters before going to bed. After getting up the next morning and readying himself he goes off to send the letters. He than walks around the school for a few hours thinking about what he will show everyone when they come visit. He finally heads back to his room to check his belongs along while also thinking if they were still scared of him because of the raid.
Enre does not go the concert I posted this so if you guys need him know where he is.

The first to enter is a gray-haired dwarf. The second is a very tall middle-aged man, with close-cropped white hair. The third is a fellow in his late twenties, and he seems rather out of place. But the other two eye him with respect.
And he is the first to speak. "We've been hearing things."

Headmaster Ryo wrote: "Recruiting practices? Coming to this school is a choice, I merely send the invitation. What could you possible be suspicious of?" The dwarf chuckles hollowly. He reaches into his pocket and withdraws a black scale--Krays's, although Ryo may not know it. He sets it carefully on the desk and looks up. "A very reputable source has indicated that you house dragons in this school. Can you deny it?"
"I can, since there are no dragons in this school. I would know if a destructive creature such as a dragon was roaming my halls." He picks up the scale and examines it critically. "You know we have a serpent shaman here, right? Your 'source' seems to have picked up a scale from one of his friends. May I asked who is stirring up trouble for my school?"

Taron has to save himself, or none of it will have any meaning for him. Because sometimes the 'mistakes' are the only way to get it right," she said, comprehension dawning, her attention completely diverted from Alton, as she started to look at things from a completely different perspective. "It makes so much more sense if you don't try to look at it in a linear fashion," she murmured to herself.

"Your peril? Dragons have been extinct for thousands of years, and unless some necromancer has gotten a hold of some bones, you have nothing to fear?" The man shakes his head. "Don't try and worm out of this, Cardcaster. We know very well what forces may be found in your school. Demons! We were hit by a few of yours. Failed experiments, I hope, and not some deliberate sabotage. But enough is enough. I'd hoped that you could find some reason, something we hadn't thought of. It's no good."
Ryo acknowledges Filne with a mental nod.
"The demons were not my school's. A student was overconfident in his abilities to summon and control. Have you ever thought that the very existence of this school is keeping the people of Agartha safe? Imagine what would have happened if that student was not in the school were the demons were contained! They would have run rampant and spread like a plague."
"Now, I am more than willing to send someone to take care of any and all demons that got out of the school, but I will not have you thinking that we encourage the possible creation of a full-scale demonic invasion in this school! You have accused me of having dragons in Avalon, and I have said I am innocent of such a charge. Then you accuse me of unleashing demons on the city, and that is a charge I am also innocent of."
"Of course, how I could have been harboring a creature that has been confirmed extinct is beyond me anyway."

Filne comes in shortly after the three leave. He is rubbing the back of his head with a half amused half concerned look.
"You know I smell trouble. Two of them seem reasonable but the third I make out as someone with something to prove. People like that tend to only be interested in their own truth. Should I keep an eye on them?"
"Spying is not something I generally condone, but keeping an eye on them when they are in public would be harmless people watching, so there really isn't much I could do to stop you as long as it does not interfere with teaching your students."
Ryo does not appear to be giving out his stance on the matter one way or the other, merely option.

Filne shrugs.
"Spying implies their is something worth hiding. Innocent people have nothing to fear from their little secrets. After all what could simple townspeople have to hide that would matter to us. I for one could care less to find out who has been sneaking extra eggs out of the hen house or that so and so's son is seeing the local barmaid. Anything that would be worth our attention would be dangerous and so being forewarned would give us time to avert such a tragic event in the making or at least prepare for it."
He shrugs again then bows.
"Well all these theories serve little purpose. Let us simply do our duty and hope for the best. If you'll excuse me I must return to watching the students and stopping a highly strung kobold from putting more students in detention then in their classes. Headmaster."
He quickly walks away towards yet another victim of the rampaging kobold.
Feel free to hold him back if you need to say anything. ;)
"I really do need to remind him about his vacation time..." Ryo says to himself as he sits back and starts reworking the magical wards on the school. Again.
Ephebe wrote: "And we wouldn't want that, would we?" she said airily over her shoulder as she ran off backstage to change into her performance shoes. "Best of luck."

Vakkler frowns at Michael. "Fair enough."
He turns and leaves, inwardly making a note to come back and give the boy a night of slurk duty. Once Dacamara's gone, of course.

"That went better than I expected." Michael says as he returns to Kitty's side. "He didn't yell at me."

Since folks are sharing some of their build ideas, figured I'd toss this up...
Mr. Sinh is based off the question "What skills, powers, and spells would make for the badassest janitor in the universe?"
My answer is a Monk/Sorcerer (Elemental Earth bloodline) of pretty decent levels. He isn't optimized by any stretch of the imagination. I purposefully picked his spell list biased towards spells that had fun 'custodial' uses... either in terms of 'cleanup' or in preventing him from being killed by the various toxic substances and nasty creatures a janitor at an occult school is likely to encounter. With all the races and magic present, you can imagine that cleaning up a flooded bathroom is likely to be a CR15 encounter. :) Mr. Sinh is designed to handle it. He also has a WICKED 'Profession: Janitor' roll.
I will be posting his full character sheet if any cares to view it, when I'm happy with the format.

Hey, who optimizes in a roleplay? That'd be silly. Victory's as simple as "I win", after all. :P

At Vakkler's words, Sinh perks up... a hunting dog on a scent. He returns to his normal form and casts a professional eye over the traces of (non building-leveling) :p lightning damage. "Nothing that can't be fixed with a mix of Windex and Salamander blood." He begins digging through the supply bag attached to the pail.

A young man sits at a table with the parts of two guns spread out before him. His short black hair spiky. His supple fingers cleaning and reassembling both guns leaving two beautifully crafted weapons. The guns themselves look like oversized desert eagles made of adamantine with mithrial accents along their sides.
He stands up and slides both guns in their holsters with a flourish revealing 4 spare clips set along each leg for quick reloading hidden inside his red trench coat. His clothing beneath it is a black sleeveless outfit with red stitching. Just before he slips on custom made sunglasses his strangely colored crimson eyes seem to glow.

Well, for now I think that DB3 and I are taking turns 'driving the boat'. Others may get a chance to run encounters as things go on, but it's better to get used to the format first. (The first rule is, if you're running the encounter find some way to take your character out of the action.) And I'm really glad you're enjoying it. :)
This game is basically continually open, so if you have a character concept you're just dying to try out please consider yourself invited. :)

Rules light, rule of cool wins, don't worry about mechanics, we'll help you figure it out if there's something that doesn't fit exactly in the rules. Vaguely Pathfinder/3.5 based. Level is mid to high teens. Students and teacher ideas welcome.
And the beast boy idea sounds awesome. :)
Eben, good to see ya, I was wondering if this game would appeal to you! Lynora and DB3 aren't joking about the flexibility or looseness of the game. If you can create it, you can play it. :)

Oh, great. The only thing more annoying than an illusionist.
(in other words, welcome to the game, don't make a mess. :P)
By the way, is it alright if I leave my backstory unfinished? I haven't decided why Vakkler hates magic yet, but I want there to be a bigger reason than 'these dagnabbed newfangled spellbooks...'
Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Totally fine. Make it up as you go. :)

I'm heading out from school now, and off to pick up kidlet at his school. I don't know if I'll have internet at home since a lightning strike knocked out the cable at my apartment complex last night and I don't know if they've fixed it yet. But I'll be on again in the morning if I have to drive in to school on my day off. I has too much homework and studying to do to be without interwebz. :)(Both for the study tools and the sanity breaks.)

Okay, I'm out for the night. RL game tonight. :)
Will be back to finish conversation in the morning.

A short 16 year old looking kid steps into the Headmaster's office, his short, wiry frame carried by quick, springy steps. His bright orange short-sleeved shirt is untucked from his loose dark blue-gray pants, from which peek the toes of his brightly-colored shoes, and two drumsticks are not quite hidden in his back pockets. He hands a folded and sealed paper to the headmaster, the word Despin'lashahzman'Slisterbahn crawling across the front in a flowy script.
He cocks his head to the side as if he heard something - though you haven't made a sound - and looks over at you, meeting your eyes. A quick winning smile flashes towards you just before his face becomes a smaller but perfect mirror of your own with its tongue sticking out. After a second, his face flashes back to his own, and the grin returns as his he turns back to the reading Headmaster, fingers drumming on the front of the massive desk, head nodding to his own rhythm.
So Despin'lashahzman'Slisterbahn is ready to roll, if you still want him. Oh, but you can call him Spin for short. :)
He's all doppleganger, but a kid.. .maybe 15 or 16. I'm still fleshing out his background, but I now have a solid personality and set of mechanics. He's a rogue, but mostly for the skill selection and athletic bent of the class, I dont' know how much i'll be pushing for sneak attacks. And he's not a trapfinder at all, so i'll be switching out those mechanics with some kind of APG alternate class feature. Maybe acrobat or something. Basically, he's a sarcastic, fun-lovin' kid who loves physical activity and hates anything that could really be called "work". Loves people. Loves fun.

Oh, forgot to mention. I actually see this guy as being kind of a doppleganger savante. The doppleganger entry (at the end) says there are variants out there that can actually shapechange using Polymorph spell instead of simply ALter Self. I kidn of see this kid that way. He can change quickly into practically anything living between the size Tiny to Large. Thoughts?

Ok after reading the original thread I totally want a short range teleporter. Think deadpool's from marvel. It would go about 50ft at most or something of that nature.
Will his teleports be accompanied by a 'BAMF!' bubble? :)
Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate
Possibly and maybe a bit of fourth wall breakage. Though in all likely hood probably not :)

Okay, mechanics are in there.. i gave more than you're generally requesting, but it helps me understand his capabilities. I'm working on his backstory. The short version is that he's actually a half-blood doppleganger, having human blood from his mother. She raised him regardless of his freak-ness, only realizing she was not capable of continuing to nurture and teach him as he needed as he got into his mid teens. The long version will be up some time today.
Lynora, DB3, what do you think? Should I jump in? Is he gonna fit? Do you want to do the intro for the guy when the story makes sense?

(If you're taking a mechanics class I'll even help you build your own.)

Yes, please jump in whenever you feel ready to do so.

Are there any (male) students without roommates? The new kid needs a bunk-mate. He'll also definitely be signing up for the advanced Phys Ed class. is there an Introduction to Psionics class? :\

I'm not sure I think Asch and Amada (and technically Silver) are rooming together. (How they managed that is unknown Asch is ba like that I guess ^_^)

As for the roommate sitch...Er, well.....I think Asch is rooming with Amada. So I don't think so at the moment. Unless Ephebe switches rooms to bunk with Nasima and then he could bunk with Jiminy. Oh, wait I forgot...I don't think Krays has a roomie yet.
Did we lose Marra somewhere?

lynora wrote: Did we lose Marra somewhere? I hope not. I was quite intrigued to see how her character was going to develop.

Exceptions as in most were scared of Asch needing a bite to drink :)
