The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

I am told that acceptance is the key to the door of progress, grasshopper.... (-_-)

....Though I am still uncertain as to what particular bit of acceptance that master was referring to when he spoke those words to me. (o.O)

F Sylph

Fei seems awful sweet, too. <_<

[Thinks for a moment.]

I...believe a more accurate description would be...helpful. Yes. I try to be helpful.

[Breaks open burn kit for screaming student who just set his arm on fire with a lighter.]

(^.^)

F Sylph

Well that'll do, too.

Male Half-Elf

Great, now I've got a really fit guy as competition. *eye roll*

Michael slowly glides back to the floor with Kitty in his arms, enjoying one last moment of weightlessness and hugging before they land.

"I'm going to have to take you flying again." He whispers in Kitty's ear. "It's a lot of fun."

Keme stood in the back and watched. This was good. People were relaxing, thinking that maybe it was all over, starting to have hope. He grinned. This was the best part, the rush of power before all those hopes were dashed by whatever the next crisis was.

She came to a halt as the song finally ended, slipping off the stage before anyone could be certain she wasn't just one of the illusions. She grabbed her robe and threw it on over the overly clingy costume. She wasn't sure if she felt happy about a good performance, or worried about the song or just relieved that it had all gone off without anything going horribly wrong. Yet.

"She did a pretty good job." Taron comments, looking a Jiminy. "We should get her on stage more often."

"Yeah," he agreed. "This was a lot better than those boring recitals. It's hard to stay awake long enough to even see her dance in one of those. It's good to see her starting to act like her normal self."

"After a few hours with you around my family, I'm going to need an escape plan anyway." He replies with a smile in his eyes.

"Normal for Ephebe, dimwit. I don't expect that to match normal for anyone else. Not freaking out that everyone is gonna leave her or crying or in the infirmary...all of which have been overly common for her lately. And hey, she even almost kind of looks at me when she talk to me now, which is a big improvement from when she first got back."

"At least you weren't a total stranger to her." Taron replies, trying to be a bit comforting. "She didn't even know who I was until someone told her."

"You did great!" a familiar yet disembodied voice says to Ephebe.
"So graceful! Didn't much care for the song, but your dancing was top notch!"

"Yeah. That makes a lot more sense now that we know that she has the memories of all the other versions of her, and after all, you only exist in this one reality. So, you know, you're probably supposed to save the world or something," he said jokingly.

"Yes, because I want my family to decide they need to chase me down and Come to Avalon. Yeah, that wouldn't be embarrassing at all." Though his tone is sarcastic, Michael still smiles genuinely. Seeing his family again would be nice.

"It did a great job of getting everyone in the party mood, that's for sure. I liked it."

"Just one sec, 'kay? Fi's up next," he said, stepping away and tapping Fieri on the shoulder. When she turned around he leaned over and whispered in her ear. "Taron and Kam are fixing it so travel conditions aren't so great. You should have an extra day. So just relax and enjoy this.

[i]He kissed her and then pushed her out onto the stage before she could start overthinking things again.

::Kam?:: Taron thinks to his mate. ::I've got a storm brewing to make travel a bit difficult. Feiri needs some time to prep for her family, so I want your help on this. You've got more experience with storms anyway.::

::I'll see what I can do. Shouldn't be to hard to make it a historical storm.::

::No property damage.::

::Wouldn't dream of it.::

Fieri froze for a moment like a deer in headlights and then one of her bandmates handed her some equipment to set out. She started moving again as they quickly got the stage set up for their first ever performance. They barely had things set before it was time to start. She'd arranged things with the lighting crew so the spotlights wouldn't come on right away. She tossed a handful of flame spheres into the canisters she'd set up and flames shot up, illuminating the stage as the guitar started playing, and the spotlight came on just as she started singing.

Well, I was going to link to a song, but firefox apparently hates youtube, so not so much. :/

"See, you say it won't be bad, but my little brother alone is a terror sometimes. Add the rest into the equation... Dad would point out all the girls he thinks I might think are cute or, Tapio forbid, actually ask them if they think I was cute. Mom would fuss over the state of room if she saw it, even though I keep it kinda tidy, and might just ask in public if I'm wearing clean... well, never mind what she'd ask about."

"I just get the feeling talking to a family made up of ninjas wouldn't be nearly as bad for me. Think they could teach me how to use a sword before we go talk to mine, or do you want me utterly defenseless in the clutches of my family?" Michael inquires, obviously laying it on thick for comic effect.

"Yeah, I can't say I was a fan. I was able to put that energy into dancing, but even then, it was a close call a couple of times. Yay for rigid discipline literally beat into me by my dance instructor," she said sarcastically.

"Looks like Fieri's band is up next. This should be good."

Spoiler:
It was 'This Week the Trend' by Relient k. Seemed like a good choice for them to kick things off. Except for the whole firefox freezing thing every time I tried to copy/paste. :)

She laughed. "Well, they might be able to teach you, but you'd have to find them first. Good luck with that. My cousin came to visit for two weeks once and still hadn't seen anyone by the time he left. Poor guy looked so discouraged. I tried to talk to him, but, well, it was after my ability started to manifest, so that pretty much tells you how that went."

"Actually your family sounds pretty great, embarrassments and all."

Male Half-Elf

Michael can't help but agree as he listens to FAIN's first song.

"Yeah, I guess so. Now if I could just get the lock on my door back home fixed. All of my snacks are probably long gone by now..."

At this point, why don't we just have a Parent's Day and invite everyone to the school so we can wipe up a bunch of possible subplots in one go? :D

I'm sure we could find the descendents of the minors who dug up the ore that was used to create parts of you, and those of the loggers who chopped down the wood. They'd probably have some stories to share.

So, you were hoping for a repeat of what happened with Kam's mom? I mean, Fieri's family is bad enough, but mostly they'll just be coldly rude. Inviting Nala's mom would be a mistake. You don't let the powerful evil fey queen inside the school on purpose. It will end badly.:P

Well, duh. Do you know how many firebirds it takes to melt an Ice Queen? Less than are in the school right now.

Besides, with all the bad families fighting each other, the chances they'll wipe eachother out fighting to get at their children.

Definately do NOT want my parents here. Not that they talk anymore, but dad was a grouch and mom was always out killing stuff.
Oh, and the whole 'they're evil dragons' stuff.

That would be your pre-reincarnation parent's -who are outside of Agartha and have no way of getting here- right? Bring in the kobold ones so Vakkler isn't as outnumbered.

And then I met someone who had an invitation to come here and tagged along. It hasn't exactly worked out great for me so far, but it's still better than being out there."
