The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Lyn, gonna take slight liberties here, but I feel it's fitting considering

Ace and Ginni sleep in his room, so he can keep an eye on her, plus they haven't had any alone time since before her attack.

Come morning, they make their way to breakfast, Ace staying close to his girlfriend, in case she needs a steadying hand.

Yep, that's fine. Nice to see he's learned from his mistakes. :)

Ginni was feeling very self conscious as they entered the cafeteria. She still hadn't figured out how to manage shapeshifting, and her more demonic appearance was bothering her. At least she was getting a little bit steadier on the hooves with practice, but it still felt pretty precarious to her. It seemed like forever since the last time she was here. Thanks to Phaeze's work helping her mind work through the trauma as he reassembled her mind, she just felt sad when she saw that their normal table was empty, not the too familiar feeling that nothing would ever be okay again. She missed Joneh and Rodhas, just like she missed the other friends she'd lost over time. But she knew that being sad all the time just wasn't possible, so for now, she tried to set the feeling aside. At least long enough to get breakfast.

"I don't know about you, but I am definitely in the mood for some less than healthy breakfast. I think waffles maybe. With syrup and whipped cream and fruit and chocolate chips, and cinnamon rolls, and maybe some chocolate croissants. Ooh, and muffins."

Pre-transformation Ginni had a fairly small appetite, and was definitely not a sugar fiend. :)

Ace chuckles at Ginni's new found appetite, "I'm going to guess that being in a coma for a week really ramps up one's hunger huh?" He gathers his usual several large, diverse plates of food, then summons a minor entity Unseen Servant to carry his food so his hands are free to assist Ginni, should she need it.

"Dajalos woke me. Then I realized I was hungry. Really hungry."

"Apparently," she said, a little bit sheepishly, as she piled her tray full of every breakfast sweet she could get her hands on. "Or my metabolism changed with the new shape. Guess we'll have to see if it's a one-time deal or not." She had a little bit of trouble with the tray as she stepped away from the line, but with Ace there to help avoided an embarrassing tumble. "Er, thanks. I know this is gonna get less awkward eventually."

"I see you're showing your true colors now," a boy sneered as he walked past. Ginni winced. She recognized him the boy who had forcibly kissed her at the beginning of the school year and had part of his soul sucked out. She grimaced remembering being forced to vomit it out.

"Well....he used to be a typical seven year old. Running around, getting into trouble, playing with his friends. And then his powers happened. He used them to stop his friend from getting run over by a cart. He can control metal. Well, it's like some kind of extreme magnetism. But just because he used his powers for good doesn't mean that the townspeople cared," she said bitterly. "It was bad enough when they ran me out of town, but with Dara...they were going to kill him, Adon. For something he couldn't help. And when Mom and Dad protected him....they killed them. And Dara saw it. People that he'd known and trusted and they killed our parents right in front of him. Somehow he got away. Someone must have helped him. He got away and he made it here by some miracle. But now....he doesn't talk anymore. Hasn't said a word in months. He's terrified of people. It's hard for him to trust anyone. He has trouble making friends, or even just sitting in a classroom. He tends to make a sort of walking fortress around himself out of any bits of metal he can find. There was someone who was teaching him how to use these special gloves to talk. It's a sort of sign language and the gloves can translate it to text that they display in the air. But that guy just sort of disappeared. Stopped coming to lessons. I don't know exactly what happened. But I know that Dara isn't really making much progress lately. And I don't really know what to do for him. I'm trying, but...I'm hurt and angry too and it isn't really helping."

"Uhhh....Sorry. That was probably a lot all at once. It's just been weighing on me for a while," she said sadly as she nervously crumbled a piece of toast on her plate.

"Where I'm from you get to do whatever you want. Everyone usually has daily chores, but on your birthday, you get your day off and you can do whatever you feel like. I always liked to go fishing, or climb trees. I explored the mountain on the island one time, but as you know, that was a really bad idea."

He exhales slightly more heavily than usual, making his breath visible to demonstrate that his icy condition is the product of the bad decision to explore the mountain. He's learned to breathe quietly to keep that from happening. If he had to be a popsicle, he didn't have to make it any more obvious than it has to be.

"But, I also lived on a tiny island. This place is a lot bigger. Plus, you and I and the others can go, like, anywhere since we became champions, right? Is there anything you've ever wanted to try but couldn't til now?"

He keeps up his sewing work, moving faster and making far fewer mistakes than any normal person could.

Sorry this took so long. Busy week.

"Unsure how my or Ginni's form matters" She says in sultry voice, before she alters appearance once again, this time becoming an ugly, hunchbacked old man. "True beauty is in the soul, and Ginni's soul is gorgeous. Trust me, I know, I saw it.", in a voice weighed down by years. He then reverts back to his 'normal' self.

"Yeah," she agreed, setting down her tray at not the usual table. Because if things were going to be different anyways, well...this was easier somehow. "I would have to say worst week of my life so far, and you saw that I had quite a few doozies to compete with it. Or maybe you didn't. I'm still not sure how much you did and didn't see inside my mind. So I'm glad that we're able to move on, change the old patterns and create new ones that will be better from here on," she said with a cheerful smile. No sense getting dragged into the mud with them, right?"

"Yes, actually. That is something that she and I have in common. Along with a love of frilly dresses. And she's a really good marbles player. Did you know that? We had a lot of fun playing...it was one of the few times I could get her to step away from the sewing machine. But she hates books. Well, I don't think she actually hates them, if she'd just give them a chance. And there's a program on her data pad to read things aloud to her if she'd just get over being so scared of change and actually use it. It's kind of frustrating sometimes." She stopped herself there."Sorry. I got a little bit carried away. You were just asking about food. It's so hard to get a word in edgewise with my siblings and cousins around that I've gotten used to just talking full force in the hopes that a few words actually get heard. Ignace says that bothers people because they can't talk over me either."

"Oh, that's rich," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "After all this time, now I'm supposed to believe that any of you actually care about my well-being? I'm not that naive. Or that stupid. You won't get anything by being nice to me. My family considers me damaged goods, and I can't leave the school grounds because they'll kill me if they get the chance. Something about erasing the stain on their honor. Because murder and torture are totally okay, but I'm too much of an embarrassment. The only firebird I trust is my little brother. The rest of you? Hot tears of anger and frustration dripped down her face in spite of her best efforts to keep them in. "Can't trust you. 's a trick," she said, her voice starting to slur. "'s always a trick." Her vision blurred, dotted with black spots. Oh, no, not now. This couldn't be happening now, she thought, right before she crumpled to the ground unconscious.

Fei gets a hand behind Asha's head as she slumps down. As he does so he opens a comm channel via his neural lace and powers up his starcaster..

"Infirmary - this is Fei. I am bringing in a firebird student suffering from a metabolic crash and loss of consciousness."

Lucas looks shocked as she falls over "woah, what's going on with her?"

"Whatever her current medical condition, your presence did not help it. Please refrain from speaking to her for the time being, for her sake," the young monk states flatly as he picks her up, the tone of his speech most definitely statement rather than request.

Once she's hooked up to the IV and getting nutrients, her color improves quickly. As she regains consciousness, the first thing she does is reflexively curl into a ball, with her hands around her head to protect it. When she notices the sounds of the infirmary around her, she slowly uncurls. "How did I get here?" she asks, still a little disoriented.

After a while, other people showed up to use the practice space, and she decided to go and get some breakfast. And then maybe some more practice. Or not. She'd probably get dragged into something else instead. But she planned to have more practice. On the way to breakfast, she decided to see if Jasper wanted to join her, and used the arrows to try and locate him.

Morrivan's hand pokes out from under the blankets and the water in the pitcher on her nightstand is directed towards Melody's bed, landing in the general vicinity of her head.

The arrows would lead Ephebe to a closed door with a faint whistling sound and rustling paper coming from inside.

She knocked on the door, standing on one leg as she adjusted her leg warmer and wondered why it hadn't actually occurred to her to change into normal clothes before going for breakfast. She had clearly been spending too much time as a passenger in other people's minds. She was forgetting basic details of life. "Hey, Jasper?" she called out and knocked again. "You awake in there?"

Sleepy Morrivan did not consider that angle, but now that she's thinking about it, there are more advantages to being a water bender than perviously considered... ;P

The door seems to unlatch and be blow open inwards as if by a vacuum.

Inside, the room is alright with literal hundreds of paper airplanes of every size and shape imaginable. Some are small and simple, classic planes. Others are large and complex, the most impressive being an articulate whale and a pirate ship chasing each other in the counterclockwise sea of other papers.

In the middle of all of it, Jasper is on his back on a couch, two hands laced behind his head while two more conduct the currents the origami fleet cruises. He tilts his head back from looking up at the display to consider Andromeda from an upside down perspective.

"Yo."

"Yo."

Andromeda was speechless for a moment and then she laughed. "Oh, wow. Jasper, this is amazing! I didn't know you could make this many kinds of paper airplanes! Oh, man, Jiminy would have been so jealous back in his immature days before he was all serious all the time." She takes a tentative step into the room, trying to to interfere with the flight path of any of the planes."The whale is especially impressive," she said, ducking and weaving a little as she followed its path through the room.

Jasper smiles a bit more genuinely than his usual self assured facade when she seems impressed. "Heh, thanks..." He blushes slightly as she continues. "I just had a lot of time on my hands for, like, decades."

The creations seem to flutter around her as the slight breeze in the room tugs softly at her hair and clothes in the gentle cyclone, save for one lavender butterfly that settles on her hand before taking back up into the fray.

"Jiminy is your brother with the factories in town, yeah?"
He still seems to be trying to keep up with the family members, and Andromeda may notice some of the flash card sized airplanes bear their names and things she'd told him about them. Other larger pages contain notes for various classes, and still others were fancy origami paper made for being used this way.

"I always did like the whales. The pattern took me like 4 years to make and like a whole nother one to make it move. But now I can fold one in about 20 minutes."

She unconsciously twirls and moves along with the breezes, absolutely enchanted by the whole display. "Yeah, that's right. That's Jiminy. Oh my gosh. You have study notes. About my family. Nothing says your family is complicated like flashcards arranged in a flow chart," she laughed as she spotted the pattern. "I think your study method definitely looks like more fun than mine, too," she added with one last twirl before she landed on the couch next to him. Her hair was still tightly pinned up in its ballerina bun, but the wind had managed to work a few tendrils free and she brushed the hair back from her face, tucking it behind her ears as best she could manage. "I can definitely see there's a lot of attention to detail. It's hard to believe you can actually make all of this out of just paper," she said, smiling and shaking her head in disbelief as she couldn't decide where to look next.
