"Uh, which party would that be, and when? If its this weekend, we can't make it cuz we're going with Tyrrin and her brother Ehos to a special Equinox Festival hosted by Ty's mother, who I believe is akin to a queen among her people. She's a High Seer, like the Headmaster, and I guess that's some sort of royalty among the elves."
Mel gives a sigh, Well, maybe when you done being bored there, you can come to a fun party. she says in a joking tone.
anyway, I'll be alright but I'll miss you guys.
Turning to Ginni, If you are not released, you can just sneak away right?

"Well, you may be going to the festival, Ace, but unless I suddenly master shapeshifting overnight, I'm gonna have to sit this one out. I've been on the wrong side of an angry mob before and that was just for being a half demon. I don't think they'll be happy to see an actual succubus. So, there's that."
"And I think I'm just stuck here until a staff member gets enough free time to give me a checkup to make sure everything is all okay before they let me out. I think they're having trouble with organization and stuff since the guy who is supposed to be in charge is in a cocoon. They probably have to call someone else in to cover for him while he's out. So I have no idea how long I have to stay. I'm sure they'll let me out tonight at least. But I feel bad about unintentionally causing the trouble. I don't want to cause more by sneaking out."

"it's a really big multiverse though, and new things to discover and expirence are made every day. Hundreds of planes to travel to and explore, even on just this one plane there are billions of stars, many of them with a dozen or so planets some of which are teeming with life, countless foes to be fought, people to be met, foods to try, things to learn. Not even with the lifespan of a god could someone expirence it all, not if you did so in person. I heard that one of the teachers, the abjuration one, he predates the creation of this planet by several orders of magnitude and he's still out and about doing stuff. I figure in a few hundred years or so when I'm starting to really feel old I might try for some form of imortality, but that's for me to decide later, in the mean time I'm having fun with my youth and relative mortality" when she mentions patrons he muses for a bit "mine is predictably full of himself, but otherwise fairly nice.... He insists on using my face when we talk... which...
"Huh. That sounds interesting, like having a conversation with yourself in a mirror. I honestly don't know what Kronos looks like. Well, I know what the old Kronos looked like. Big golden giant dude. Not so sure about the new one. I've seen her a ton of times, but I can never remember her face. No matter how hard I try, the memory just won't stick. I guess she likes to be anonymous."

"And that sums up the problem of immortality in a nutshell. It's not so great when you remember that not everyone else is immortal too."
"Hey, you okay? You're looking a little homesick....ummm.....not to be one to point out the obvious, but, the thing is, you're a Champion, which means you can technically teleport basically anywhere....so if you ever want to pop home for a visit and then come back....totally works anytime you want."

"...that seems on form with the Others. Do you know why it's 'contacting' you?"
[dice=Identify Weird Thingy]1d20+10+8
With the added description of the static, you know for sure that this thing is not listed in the book you read, although there was at least one description that included an aura of static to the surroundings before a group of Others showed up. It is the last entry in the book and is incomplete, ending with a blood spatter. There may or may not be any relation to Adon's problem.
"Hey, I found another book, but it has a magical lock that I can't get past. And a couple of scrolls. They're not in the best shape. There might be more, but I need winter gear to get any farther into that section," Sadie said, her arms full of more reading materials.

Djalos Tyon |

Djalos stands stock still. "There appear to be two distinct possibilities. One: an Other is attempting to conceal its identity from you. Two: an Other who has tried extremely hard to conceal its very existence has contacted you." Djalos cocks his head. "I would suggest taking the books to the front and attempting to contact somebody with far more magical expertise. I am trained to withstand the cold, I can press onwards."

As Jiminy says that, Ardiente notices two more bugs racing towards building 1.

Adon Derro |

adon looks at dajalos, shifting a bit in place, thinking a moment. After a few moments, he lacks a response, so he passes for the moment, forcing more on the new books. He outstretches a hand.
"Can I see the magical lock? It won't really stick, I'm sure. And I can read magic, if I don't touch it."

Ori Reading wrote:
Ori steps out from where she had been hidden behind a tree and approaches the cage. The nature spirit howled again, a haunting sound full of anger and pain. She put her hand out and gently touched one of the spirit's hands that was gripping the bars and there was a blinding flash of green light. When Lang can see again, there is a giant tangle of vines separating him from Ori and the spirit.
Rubbing his eyes and trying to get his bearings, at first Lang thought he was transported somewhere, but he soon realized he is in the same place.
Sifu Ori, are you alright?, can you hear me. Please be alright.
Lang is starting to sound a little paniced as he tries to find a way past the twisting vines.
"Uh, yeah, I'm okay," he can hear Ori's muffled voice from the other side of the vines. "So, you know how when the spirit comes into our world we get earthquakes and big vines sprouting from nowhere? Umm....apparently that works just the same when I come here. When we're in the same place, things go boom. I think."

Djalos Tyon |

Djalos silently hands the book to Adon.
Aaaaand everything goes to hell right now.

"I could probably help you get enough of a handle on your shapeshifting to make sure you don't accidentally reveal your true form before we leave in the morning. However, I'm totally OK with you opting to just relax for the rest of the night. While I'm sure Ty will be a bit bummed you can't make it, I'm sure she'll understand." "Well, you're more confident than I am. And I don't think it's a good idea to risk a diplomatic incident over it. I have a lot of things to learn, and who knows how long any of that is going to take? I think I'd rather skip the high pressure situations for a little while."

Nala Zamarosok |

Pokes her head into the room. "Miss Saeaera," she said, shrugging her white coat back on. So much for being done with work for today. "In your opinion is the patient stable enough to be released?" She pulled her data pad from the pocket of her coat waiting for the answer.

Tamina |

"Yes, Healer Zamarosok. Ginni appears to be stable and physically healthy as far as I can tell," Tami said, startled to be asked.

Nala Zamarosok |

"Good. Then you lot can all clear out. We need the space for other patients. No sense having healthy people hanging around."
She walked away muttering to herself. "I swear they can't do anything without someone there to hold their hand. It's not like out processing is complicated. And a cocoon! Now of all times! And things were going so well..."

"Ace" |

Ace flashes Nala a grin "Sweet, thanks!" He turns and hugs Ginni "Alrighty, I'll miss you, but if you think that's best, then that's what we'll do. Now come on, I have a special surprise awaiting a good friend"

"Ace" |

Uh. Ace isn't nor has left yet. He was asking Ginni if she wanted to come with him for something.

Silinrul |

Morrivan nodded. "Yeah, Tami's pretty cool. I figured if anyone would understand about the wings it would be her. She used to act as ambassador between the fey and her mother, so she knows a lot about that stuff."
"Hmm, I might to talk to her about fae stuff then, as I know pretty much nothing. Other than, apparently, I'm half-fae." He says this matter-of-factly, but its obvious him being half-fae does bother him, at least a little.

Serrin Surya |

While cleaning her closest, Serrin's stomach starts to grumble. She hadn't really eaten all the much before Umbral called on her, and she totally forget to take her dinner.
Turning, to stop a couple of books she had set aside from falling over, she stumbled and fell through the shadows in her closest. When she got up, Serrin noticed that she had somehow teleported into the cafeteria "I'm guessing that's probably one of the new powers from Darkness. That's pretty cool" She muses silently, as she goes and gets a second plate for dinner. Thankfully it wasn't too late and there was still plenty left.

"Hmm. I gotta say, I don't like the idea of your mind being messed with. I mean what purpose does making you forget what she looks likes... I mean I kinda can't talk, my patron insists on taking my form or that of a gilded mirror, but still...on the upside he thinks it's great the connection I have with Mercy's champion over here..." He says grinning at tybalt before his smile relaxes and continues saying "But he's wary of time... I think... He might have been messing with me..."
When tybalt starts to get all nostalgic David takes a couple steps in his direction and places his arm on his best friend's back to wordlessly console him.
He then turns back to andromeda, though his hand remains on the frozen feline. "Yeah that's something of a snag.... I hadn't thought about it really. I mean I know I'll outlive humans, gnolls and similarly mortal people I mean, between dragon blood and the celestial flesh, I'd already be living about as long as an elf, but now my flesh knits itself back together when I'm injured... I've no idea what that will do to my lifespan nor the long term effects of a few rituals I've preformed on myself. And that's not touching the champion business. I kinda thought of immortality as just an extension of my long life, it's better for my mental health to either only associate with long lived individuals like dragons and elves. That or not form attachments... But yeah. That requires some additional thought."
third time I've had to type this up and I swear that last bit gets worse each time

"Maybe it's not so bad... I mean, if the patrons are what they say they are, I get the feeling they can choose to appear however they like, and how we know them are just how they show themselves to us. So does it really matter if we know what they look like? I mean, I understand sanctity of your mind and all, but maybe you don't remember it because it's not important? I mean, she might just not have a face, even."
He shrugs and shakes his head as if trying to make sense of it himself. He smiles a little when Dave sets his hand in his back.
"We are pretty lucky, right? This whole champion thing is easier with friends, ya know? I kinda wish we could all get together and be allies, ya know? Easier on the whole universe if we aren't fighting all the time, but I guess that's just wishful thinking."
He bites his lower lip as he thinks about the past, and tries not to read too much into the hand on his back. This wasn't ever going to be easy.
"Aging is funny. People go by and live full, long lives and the elf they grew up with hardly even looks middle aged at their funeral." He glances down at his paw. "I don't even know how long I should think I have. Catfolk are lucky to live to 70 or so, but I'm part fey, part dragon, and I haven't even grown an inch since... this happened. I should be an adult right now and still can't even reach the top shelves without floating... That's part of why I'm afraid to go back home. I left without telling anyone and got on the only space ship my home had ever seen. And now I find out that was almost a decade ago. How am I supposed to just appear back and say 'hey everyone, I'm sure you thought I was dead after running off in the middle of a blizzard I caused, but guess what, I'm back, and I still look exactly the same even though all of my sisters are probably bonded and have their own families, and I'm still just the sad little ice sculpture that ruins everything. He puts his face in his hands and gets quiet. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be doing this to you guys..." He rubs at his eyes, trying to hide his emotions.

Ace flashes Nala a grin "Sweet, thanks!" He turns and hugs Ginni "Alrighty, I'll miss you, but if you think that's best, then that's what we'll do. Now come on, I have a special surprise awaiting a good friend"
"Well, alright then," she says, smiling and standing up unsteadily. "Just don't expect me to go anywhere fast. Hooves, tiles, joints that bend the opposite way they used to...it's a recipe for disaster."

Once Ace says his goodbyes, Mel gives her a hug as well, I'll save ya some cake, or something. you still can eat cake right?.

"Well, I do know a thing or two about how it feels when all of your siblings move forward with their lives without you. And yeah, it stinks. And you feel jealous. And then you feel awful about yourself for feeling jealous. And so on. But the longer you stay away, the harder it is. You choose to do what you think is right for you in your own time, but my advice is to go back, talk to them, tell them you're okay and they don't have to worry about you or mourn for you or whatever. You'll all feel better in the long run. And here's the thing about being Champion of Time. I have so much perspective that it is overflowing. Mostly gained from repeated failure, but hey, silver lining. Unless they are actually bad people, and you don't talk about them like they are, I don't think your family thinks of you as a 'sad ice sculpture who ruins everything'. That little bit of cruelty is all you. I do that too. We're always cruelest to ourselves. So maybe take it easy on yourself. And yes, I can hear the hypocrisy already. Trust me, I can dish it, but I can't take it. It's not like feelings of inadequacy just go away because you tell them to. But it does help a little when other people fail to validate your bad opinion of yourself."

Michael soon led Kitty back towards the school, an overstuffed Saffire in his hands as they go.
"So was the food as good this time as last time we went there?"
"Honestly? No, not really. But it's kind of a miracle they're still open at all with how wrecked the rest of the town is. Was. The construction seemed to be coming along quite fast. There were more buildings when we left than when we got there anyways. But the company more than made up for the food," she said, smiling as she squeezed his hand. "And there will be plenty of yummy seafood to eat when we visit my family. Nishioki is a port city after all." Saffire meeped contentedly from his perch on Kitty's shoulder at the mention of more seafood.
