I am gonna facilitate the Vai transition by bringing this scene to a close.

After several more minutes of sitting together in pleasant silence, Phaezeriel shifts slightly, causing Vai to sit up and release him. He 'speaks' as she does, ::I am sorry to abandon you to the eggs and the silence, but I must seek out one of my patients; it is time to resume her treatment. I will see you later, okay?::

He rises, gathers up the empty trays and leaves the hatchery. After dropping the trays off in the cafeteria, he brushes a wall with his hand and flies off in search of Nala.

Nala is in her office updating patient information in the system.

Nala's office can be accessed from either the elementary school or the infirmary since it sort of connects the two. She'll answer differently depending on which door you knock.

We're trying to catch them and stop them. That girl, Ginni," he said, nodding towards the bed, "she was one of the victims, but she has powerful psychic abilities of her own. Instead of giving her false memories, the killer shattered her mind. We're trying to set a trap to catch the killer, but the girl who was going to act as bait backed out."

"That's the super short condensed version. Obviously there's more to it than that."

She cocks her head slightly to one side, then shrugs and nods. She speaks a couple of unintelligible words and a silent illusion springs into existence beside her. The animated image shows a rather cartoonish looking Alys skipping through a forest and climbing into the pan of a very large bear trap where she settles down to wait.

"I'll take that as a yes," Keme said with a grin. "So what do you say, Ace? You cool with proceeding as planned, but my cousin Alys taking Illy's place?"

"That sounds pretty amazing actually. I am definitely going to want to hear more about that once we get you back to this universe where you belong."

"Umm...it's kinda hard to remember details. Secondhand memories," she added with a shrug. "They were...silver I think. Kinda blocky. A bit like him," she said waving a hand towards Hermes, "but way less streamlined."

Mel thinks for a bit, I wonder if Susan knows anything about them, but I can't ask her as I am only a SIM and I don't have full access to all the ship's data in this SIM.

So, lets say we make a detection device to find the weak spot to pass the bomb device between dimensions.

SIM Mel then starts to draw up some basic schematics.

"Yeah, but I know how her ship works. It's like a primitive version of my sister. They've used the black hole to trap a piece of the time vortex. It's perfectly safe. Well, mostly safe. There is the slight chance of a universe destroying bang if the core were to be breached. But there's security measures to stop that. Well, probably. I mean, sure there are plenty of people who might know how to get around those. But I'm sure this Susan has probably updated the security systems somewhat so that not just anybody could get into her ship. So it's almost certainly perfectly safe. Whereas you were trying to do something almost perfectly unsafe. As in has never been done without disastrous consequences. No need to get tetchy just because I know more about this subject than you," she added with an annoyingly cheerful smile.

Ace is quiet for several long moments, contemplating, his eyes continuously flickering back to Ginni. Finally he speaks "No. Actually I'm not. No offense to your cousin, but there's already been too many lives lost. The girl I love lies in a comma, her mind shatter by this bastard. One of the sweetest people I have ever met has had her world torn asunder, as not only did this monster kill her, but he also slaughtered all the innocent animals she took care of. If this killer is going to be taken down, I'm going to do it myself. However, I'll still need help"

He looks at Alys, noting the silent exchange between her and Keme, as well as the illusion, and makes a deductive leap "I'm going to guess you have some problem similar to Ehos which prevents you from speaking. Would a telepathic bond between all of us be helpful?"

Image

"This is personal for me too, Ace. Kitty is my best friend, and I'm the one who found her body. Hell, I'm the one who's been lurking around gathering up clues, and going out and interviewing people in the town and camp to get information about the victims who weren't from the school. So, if you have a better plan than the one to lure the killer out with bait while the rest of us lie in wait to catch him, the plan you've had me setting up and gathering stuff for all week I might add, then do please tell. I'm all ears," Keme said, visibly frustrated.

Alys' expression falls and she shakes her head as the illusion fades. She speaks a short phrase, and though her words come out completely unintelligible, the sound of them seems to shiver and crawl its way along the spines of any who hear them while the utter dependability of reality shivers slightly.

For the record, Hermes is still in the SIM room and can be addressed, but it's just incredibly easy to forget he's there unless you're looking for him. It's a character and abilities thing, but also convenient for him being a side character without much to say sometimes.

"Alys can understand, but her communication problem is the same for every form of communication. Probably worse for telepathy. Would probably be quite the headache. As far as I understand it anyways. Yeah, sure, go ahead. I'm not positive the killer still can't overhear us that way, but whatever advantage we can get," he says with a shrug, still annoyed.

He ran off to a safe distance, knowing there might be collateral damage(his poor room suffered so much!) and tried to pluck the spell from the magic around him and cast it...

adon narrows his eyes. This is very much not what he expected. He walks behind, likley unable to catch up due to his inability to actually run after her, at least for a while- after a few moments, a second shadow of an armored man manifests next to him, and his free arm starts to form a hazy black aura. Forgetting about the pain in his gut at the sight of combat, he darts foreward, trying to go around sadie's ball at first- and if not possible, he will attempt to touch it with disjunction.

Well he's not wrong...

Lyn, could we handwave/skip some of this scene? If so, how much? And do you require more details from me?

Not much to skip since it's just conversation at the moment making sure all the participants have their parts down before we head into the main event. All you'd be skipping is the buffs...never skip the buffs. ;P

::Just so we're clear, I don't approve of this. But I will help anyways,:: Tyrrin said primly before leaving to fetch the scrolls she didn't have with her.

::You're going to need more than those scrolls you asked Tyrrin for,:: Tamina said, starting to pull ingredients out of the belt pouch she always wore as Tyrrin hurried off to get the extra scrolls. ::Protection from Evil for a start. So Ginni's demonic side doesn't gobble you up.:: She held the mixed powder in her hand and blew it into Ace's face. ::Now, let's see, what else?:: She pulled out a different powder and blew it at Keme. ::That should take care of the fatigue. And there has to be something more...Here we go, this one will improve charisma. And this one for wisdom. You may need both if it becomes a contest of personalities. With the killer or with Ginni.:: she said mixing two different colored powders together before blowing them at Ace again. Owl's Wisdom and Eagle's Splendour mixed into one 'potion' ::And...I can't think of anything else...Are you really sure about this?::

At this point Tyrrin returned with the scrolls he had requested. ::Yes, that's my question exactly. You realize that there is a good chance that you might make things worse?::
