The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"Maybe it is impatient, but my birth parents are still alive, despite what has happened, and I'm going to rescue them. I don't know if they're in danger or how much time they have. Sorry if you aren't ready, but stuff happens when you aren't ready. I don't want to waste more time." Vai's features are determined and resolute, though a slight quiver in her voice belies the fact that she's more fearful than her words might let on. Vai definitely /does/ appear to be rushing. Even know, scaly blue wings are emerging from her back, as she readies for combat. "We're going to my hometown, on the planet Belsayv. The coordinates are already programmed into the Starcaster, you just have to push this button and hold on. If you need some time, come catch up with us when you're ready. Or not. I'm going."

I'll post the group's arrival in the morning, giving folks like Phaeze a bit more time to react.

"I could show you if you like, though it is fairly advanced engineering. There are classes here that can help you learn. You're already a fairly accomplished spellcaster, so you ought to be able to at least grasp the magical aspect fairly quickly." Tyrrin says appreciatively as they reach the door to the stairs up into the observatory. "It's a little bit of a climb, I admit."

"It's okay, walking is easier than climbing. You think I'm a good spellcaster..? My spells are all battle stuff, mostly, cause in needed to hunt and fight those bug things. I mean, I got one spell that's good for storing stuff. I decorated my room with some of the things I found thanks to that spell. Makes something really small, and then into cloth if I want it."

"I suppose so. What can I do for you, Mr. Kiln?"

As he ponders his next move, Ace mentally checks in with Repp ::"How is everything going with Kitty? Is the burial sight ready?"::

Your Survival and Knowledge: Nature rolls (which I had assumed would be disgustingly high akin to your Perception rolls, were factored into the feedback above. There are hints in there, I promise. If you are still stumped or what not, PM me, I'll try it in another format. As for number of corpses, that's up to Kitty to state, oocly, since practically all the animals in there, which she tended too, were slaughtered, along with her, with masterful killing strokes (and more).

Vai is standing there with blade drawn, seeming ready for combat. In fact, just as Anahita was teleporting in, she was casting a spell on herself which causes her clothing to shimmer slightly. A Mage Armour spell no doubt. She hands Anahita a device - chrome in colour with a screen with many numbers and other assorted 'tech' stuff. "No problem, but we're short on time now. My Grandma says that something already attacked, but we're not sure what except for it's /not/ the other me. Phaeze has a healing and telepathic collective, if you want to join." Vai says quickly, obviously in a rush. "The devices will allow us all to transport at once."

With that quick summary of the situation, Vai stands ready, looking around. Assuming everyone appears ready, she nods and activates her Starcaster.

Gotta go, so if you have anything you want to do before we go, do it now. :D

Phaezeriel turns to nod at Anahita, ::There is nothing to fear from the collective. No one can harm you through it; mind or body. And I am the only one who can use it for more than telepathy.:: A gentle presence appears in Anahita's mind, reminding her of an offered embrace. If she does not refuse it, her mind is linked to those of the others.

With a small smile, Phaezeriel turns to Vai and nods, activating his starcaster in the same instant that she does.

With a small smile, Phaezeriel turns to Vai and nods, activating his starcaster in the same instant that she does.

Catching the nod from Phaezeriel, Anahita returns the nod and mentally accepts the embrace, joining up in the Collective.

Speaking directly to Phaezeriel, along the Collective, Anahita mentally asks:

>> I apologize if I have not been able to speak with you earlier on the Bradley situation, but did you manage to visit and study him for psionics yet? If you have been too busy, then please consider this a gentle reminder for your time when able. <<

Her mental voice certainly doesn't have an accent when speaking telepathically and her words flows smoothly without the usual oddness of speaking she appears to typically affect.

"If it hadn't been for my training and studies, your spells would've easily had us befuddled during our skirmish on the mountainside. It is no small feat of bravery to stand strong when faced by so many, and defend your home as you did." Tyrrin says evenly, not wishing to embarrass the boy, but to encourage him. "And to survive for so long against so many Remorahz is no small feat either." The stairs continue up and up... and then finally they are at a door, which Tyrrin opens into a circular chamber, in which sits the massive telescope. Fortunately, the roof was closed right at that moment, so the rain wasn't flooding the room.

::Yes, Michael is making short work of the task with his abilities. All is as good as might be expected, and Kitty is safe.:: Repp glances over at the girls as he sends the telepathic reply, just to ensure the words he was sending were true.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Belsayv - The now defunct former Hometown of the Dragon girl Vai

The group arrives without much more fanfare other than the sound of the Starcasters cycling down with a small whirring noise. The group is standing in a small cluster in the late afternoon sun of another world - where it is sunny, warm, and clear with barely a cloud is the blue sky.

The weather is beautiful, but the scene in front of them is not. It is the former shell of a town. Technology level is somewhere pre-industrial, with most of the buildings built of wood or stone. The town is in ruins. Some buildings, as well as some patches of the ground, are still smoldering. Oddly though... there are /no/ bodies. Signs of a struggle and combat are everywhere, with non-humanoid tracks which run around the former village.

There is no sign of any of the residents, though thin colums of smoke still rise here and there. It is deadly silent.

Vai seems to be slightly stunned. This is, after all, where she grew up.

Anyone who has come along, let me know what your actions are! Apply skill checks as necessary (Survival, for example, to follow the tracks)

Lang just shrugs his shoulders. i don't know, it sounded better in my head before i said it. Guess i didnt think of that.

There is that awkward silence for a moment then lang changes the subject.

Going over to Simba hey there boy, you remember Midori, she will going back home with us to visit, so you be nice, ok?

Simba shakes his huge head too acknowledge lang's request.

unless the rain continues, then we may have to use the teleport room

Vare's rueful smile quickly fades, his expression turning serious. "I'm sorry for intruding, but it is something of an emergency. A student has been enchanted to amplify his emotions. He has already attacked one person in a tavern in Kuros, and he has left the school as far as I can tell. He seems to be able to make Gates at will, and I... honestly, if he has such a power, I fear for the school, and possibly even the planet itself. I felt it would be irresponsible to attempt to handle this situation alone." Vare says succintly, following up quickly, clearly concerned. "His name is Tryko'Sam."

She frowned. "I know that student. He's one of two students responsible for maintenance of the SIM rooms...." She hit a series of buttons on her headband. "Suspend all security clearances for Tryko'Sam that allow him into restricted areas or allow him to alter the programming of SIM rooms. Inform me immediately if this student is found anywhere on school grounds and immobilize if found until he can be retrieved by a staff member," she said briskly.

"Alright, that won't do much, but it will at least keep him from being used to sabotage the school and will alert me to his presence if he shows up in the school anywhere. I'll ask Mother to see if she can find him by scrying. Once we find him we need to keep him in one place long enough for Miss Jones to examine him and remove whatever compulsions he's been put under."

Anyone who has come along, let me know what your actions are! Apply skill checks as necessary (Survival, for example, to follow the tracks)

Perception: 1d20 + 34 ⇒ (14) + 34 = 48

Survival: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (6) + 36 = 42

Standard Perception, followed by Tracking via Survival to determine if any further clues can be gleaned. Please note she has her unusual detect active as well. I'll PM you questions on that Fireclaw.

Nearly immediately following the departure of the others, Anahita follows as well, appearing along side with Vai and whomever else, though her Starcaster lacks the winding down noise, clearly not used. She's not really holding it right either.

Glancing about, and then squatting down or getting onto all fours, Anahita proceeds to peer about and examine the ground, looking and smelling as she does though being very precise in her steps so' snot to disturb any possible tracks.

Through the Collective she sends:

>> We best designate a Warcaller and Diplomat for this, so there is less confusion among ourselves in the two situations. I am seeking possible tracks and if the are any viral threats, one moment. Please mind where you step or what you touch. <<

Her mental voice stands out as clear and without the accent of her spoken one.

For anyone looking on while she investigates, it would be fairly obvious that social modesty as she moves around animal like, is the least of her concerns.
