"It doesn't really, I guess."
He pads over to Melody and Dom.
"Hi. Oh, Hon. What are you wearing?"
He furrows his brow and says it in the tone a proffesional hair dresser would have after his client comes in with a bad super clips haircut.just the jumpsuit is visible, right?
Carl teleports into being next to the ice cat,
"sorry there Mr Cat, just got ta have a word, a Mel flight control is giving hell asking when are we going ta lift off, just so ya know, don't forget we supposed to a saving lives, he looks at Dom, nice ta meet ya"Then he looks at what Tybalt is doing
"dress lady is Ye! you know how ta make a god kilt! I be needing a new one, last one got burnt in a firebird hug"

Phaezeriel |

Catching the nod from Phaezeriel, Anahita returns the nod and mentally accepts the embrace, joining up in the Collective.
Speaking directly to Phaezeriel, along the Collective, Anahita mentally asks:
>> I apologize if I have not been able to speak with you earlier on the Bradley situation, but did you manage to visit and study him for psionics yet? If you have been too busy, then please consider this a gentle reminder for your time when able. <<
Her mental voice certainly doesn't have an accent when speaking telepathically and her words flows smoothly without the usual oddness of speaking she appears to typically affect.
Phaezeriel's response comes only to Anahita, and she can somehow tell that he is not speaking through the collective, ::I have not yet had an opportunity to observe Bradley. Neither have I forgotten. He is in my triage queue, and I will do what I can to help. But thank you for the reminder.::
Belsayv - The now defunct former Hometown of the Dragon girl Vai
The group arrives without much more fanfare other than the sound of the Starcasters cycling down with a small whirring noise. The group is standing in a small cluster in the late afternoon sun of another world - where it is sunny, warm, and clear with barely a cloud is the blue sky.
The weather is beautiful, but the scene in front of them is not. It is the former shell of a town. Technology level is somewhere pre-industrial, with most of the buildings built of wood or stone. The town is in ruins. Some buildings, as well as some patches of the ground, are still smoldering. Oddly though... there are /no/ bodies. Signs of a struggle and combat are everywhere, with non-humanoid tracks which run around the former village.
There is no sign of any of the residents, though thin colums of smoke still rise here and there. It is deadly silent.
Vai seems to be slightly stunned. This is, after all, where she grew up.
Anyone who has come along, let me know what your actions are! Apply skill checks as necessary (Survival, for example, to follow the tracks)
Phaezeriel immediately vanishes from sight, though anyone with True Seeing will see him leap into the air and begin flying a low search pattern over the town.
Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13.
As a reminder, it has been generally agreed to use double colons to indicate telepathy, as double pointy brackets are generally used to indicate radio transmissions.
::This is telepathy::
>>This is radio.<<

Mel gives tybs a quick hug of thanks thanks tybs, your the best, as far as the costume stuff goes i'm sure i can figure something out.Turning to arthur tybs is in Dom's band we have what you call a friendly rivalry but we still help each other out as well. Its all about the music after all
"OK thanks. Where is your dress? We can do ours when you're done shuttling."
"If we still have a band..." he says quietly to himself as Carl shows up."Uh. Hi. Ya. I can. I guess so. Find me later. Looks like you're in a rush."
Other than talking about it, there's no indication that I make clothes. Also not going to object to being called a lady...

::You are speaking in common, but the words make no sense. What the blazes is a warcaller? And why would we need a diplomat on a rescue mission?::
::This might be a slaver raid. If it is, that's good. That means they can still be rescued and their captors have an interest in keeping them alive. Do you recognize the footprints?::
Sadie is a tactical genius, but she's primarily worked with different types of conflicts. The concept of the 'standard adventuring party' is utterly foreign to her, so Ana's questions make no sense.

Mel seems sad for Tybs.
Tybs, I don't know what is going on but I wish I could help. I would invite ya to help me out but unfortunately where I am going is not the best place for someone like you. anyway the dress is on my bed in my room. I give you permission to go in and grab it.
She goes to give tybs a big hug..(her flight suit giving some protection from his coldness)
I wish I could do more, Your a great guy and I'm glad to know you. I'll give your costume idea my best effort. it usually doen't take me long to come up with ideas.
just before she leaves to get back to her shuttle Oh, I was thinking of giving a concert for the displaced firebirds. you guys are welcome to join. don't have any details yet, but keep it in mind
with that, Mel lets Carl know she is ready to go.

Tybalt Baneko |

"It's ok. I guess I'm used to being called a girl at this point."

"I'll have your dress when you get back. And I had the same idea about a concert. Is next Sunday OK with you?"

Ok, I need a bit of an assist here. How protected are the bodies from the rain? and just how many are there? I have some ideas in mind about what to do next, but can't really move forward without these definite answers.

Grammaton Cleric Royston |

Royston thanks the headmaster after handing over his CV telling him what he hopes to Teach.
he says nothing about his history or being wanted, that can be covered another time.
He hopes to teach, Fire/energy arms combat and for advanced class Gun-Kata.
He will use the Sim rooms but would like a real shooting range outside the school if possible,
Bowing once more, he makes hes way out the headmasters office. Then starts to walk around the entire school, walking slowly and taking it all in, the students, the space, he study's all, he talks to students that greet him, and talks to students and teachers that sound or look interesting, he expects it to take him most of the day if not two to get the full fell of the place.
feel free to interact with Roysten as you see fit

Rena shakes her head to Opel's question. "We've only known him a little while... and I don't think he really kept all that much. Maybe we can go to his room and see if there's anything you could use?" Rena responds evenly, though she does seem to be continuing to 'cuddle' or generally stay close to Asha, stroking her Asha's arms and hands.

Ok, I need a bit of an assist here. How protected are the bodies from the rain? and just how many are there? I have some ideas in mind about what to do next, but can't really move forward without these definite answers.
This is more of a question for Lyn... but based on my recollection: the animal hospital was described as a 'shed'. To me that indicates a roof and walls. So I would say that the area is generally fairly protected from the rain. As far as the number of bodies... I think we're looking at probably high teens or low twenties. Again though, I'm just trying to Ball park it, Lyn will have the real answers.

Tybalt Baneko |

He gives her a short wave and smile as she, raelle, igni, Hermes, and Arthur get ported.
The smile is gone with them.

Vai Sunwake |

Vai appears to snap out of her stunned demeanor as the discussion starts, but she still looks a bit shaky. She watches Anahita prowl around looking for clues, as well as Phaezeriel vanish into thin air. She knows he's not distressed, because the collective is still active, but she's pretty jumpy right now all the same.
::I think by Warcaller she means someone to co-ordinate us in a fight.. but I'm not really sure anyone knows enough about the other's abilities to do that well.:: Vai's telepathic voice is riddled with uncertainty, but she's also beginning to move around and examine the ruins.

GM Fireclaw |

Everyone
As the group stands ready for combat, initially there does not appear to be a threat present - nobody spots anything that might be threatening them. Whatever danger that was here is passed, at least for the moment. Probably.
Nearby to the village appears to be a set of fields, growing grain and vegetables of various kinds. Subsistence agriculture. Interestingly enough, even though it appears to be near harvest time and the crops are at least usable if not fully ready... the fields have not barely been touched in comparison to the town, with only small sections around the fringes having been destroyed. There is not sign of any livestock or pets, though they may have wandered off given the time since the attack.
@Everyone: Please let me know if any of you are investigating inside any of the remaining buildings. There are a few still standing, including what appears to be the 'town hall' type consturction.
Yrrin
As Yrrin sweeps the area with his special sight, he /does/ in fact register a lingering dim aura of evil centered near to the middle of the town. The aura itself appears to be residue either from the destruction of a powerful evil creature, or a similarily powerful Evil aligned spell being cast in the area. The lingering aura seems to centered in the area where the signs of combat/struggle are most apparent. Also moving away from this central area appears to be something massive being dragged into the wilds.
Anahita
There are tracks aplenty for Anahita to find! Almost too many, truly. Given that this village does not have any paved streets of any kind - most of the roads are more dirt pathways than true roads. Carts would have at least some trouble coming to this town. Though that isn't really relevant.
There are a myriad of fairly unremarkable tracks around - humanoid tracks. Some booted, some barefoot, some small-sized (likely either gnomes or halflings lived in the village as well). But it isn't the humanoid footprints which draw the attention. The footprints of the attackers are.... beyond bizarre to Anahita. Definitely Abberant, or something outside of her experience. Definitely not of the natural world. Anahita counts some four or five dozen different 'prints', as whatever it was that struck here seems to have non-uniform 'feet' across it's species. Some look like mutated human feet - twisted strangely, others are taloned or appear to have dangles that drag along the ground as they walk. The only theme consistent among the tracks is that rarely are two individuals the same. A disturbing prospect no doubt.
Anahita will note that after seeming to gather, the tracks then lead off into the lightly forested Wilderness, dragging something quite massive and heavy behind them, leaving a fairly clear trail to follow. This heavy thing may be a net or a large bag, or something similar. Perhaps Sadie's notion of slavers was correct, but if so, these slavers are not natural.
Anahita: Knowledge (Dungeoneering) and (The Planes) if you have them.
Phaezeriel
The aerial view is not much better than from the ground. Still, Phaezeriel does not spot any bodies either, though there is a distinct impression that this attack was fairly well planned - not the work of brutes, but of ones experienced in this type of attack.

Ghalen Kiln |

Ghalen Kiln wrote:"I suppose so. What can I do for you, Mr. Kiln?"Sees the door open to the headmaster's office, and the man emerging, he gives him a short, but polite bow in passing, then wraps on the door frame with his knuckles.

"I...have a favor to ask, Headmaster. Would it be possible for a retainer of mine to have residency here at Avalon? I helped an Elven fellow out of a bind in Kuros, now he is my sworn man. I believe these things aren't to be taken lightly or for granted. In order for him to fulfill his oath, he needs to be near me. I ask that he be granted permission to room here. He seems of good character, and is one driven by his own honor, and that of his people. I do not believe he would pose a threat to anyone...else...here. If he did, I would bear full responsibility for him."
You can tell by the else, he means the Lycan students here.
Midori Tsuyomi |

Lang just shrugs his shoulders. i don't know, it sounded better in my head before i said it. Guess i didnt think of that.
There is that awkward silence for a moment then lang changes the subject.
Going over to Simba hey there boy, you remember Midori, she will going back home with us to visit, so you be nice, ok?
Simba shakes his huge head too acknowledge lang's request.
unless the rain continues, then we may have to use the teleport room
Midori giggles slightly at his response to 'catching lightning'. Little does she know that if Lang were a skilled enough Firebender, he might be able to do just that.
As he changes the subject, drawing Midori's attention back to Simba, Midori bows respectfully to the giant bird before moving any closer. "Does Simba like being scratched?" Midori asks Lang, looking at the bird, knowing that it wasn't likely to attack her, so she didn't have to worry about those razor sharp talons.

Vare, the Summoner |

She frowned. "I know that student. He's one of two students responsible for maintenance of the SIM rooms...." She hit a series of buttons on her headband. "Suspend all security clearances for Tryko'Sam that allow him into restricted areas or allow him to alter the programming of SIM rooms. Inform me immediately if this student is found anywhere on school grounds and immobilize if found until he can be retrieved by a staff member," she said briskly.
"Alright, that won't do much, but it will at least keep him from being used to sabotage the school and will alert me to his presence if he shows up in the school anywhere. I'll ask Mother to see if she can find him by scrying. Once we find him we need to keep him in one place long enough for Miss Jones to examine him and remove whatever compulsions he's been put under."
"Thank you. From what I garnered about this morning's events, he was quite troubled after speaking with the Headmistress, which may have made him more susceptible to this. Rena mentioned they found him again at the SIM rooms. Is what occurs in the SIM rooms able to be replayed? Can we see what he was doing in there after discovering whatever troubled him?" Vare asks evenly, trying to sort the options out. "And can we contact the Headmistress? I would like to know what kind of news he received that put him in such a vunerable state."

Tyrrin Denulia |

"They can't fly, so it's easy to get away, especially after I make it so they can' tree." He explains, looking at the telescope with wide eyes. It was huge! "no wonder it can see stuff far away! It's gigantic!"
"There's more than just size that is important Pyry," Tyrrin says evenly, sitting quickly into the swivel chair and attempting to boot up the computer systems which controlled the telescope... "But I can explain the science and magical theories if you'd like." It turned on! Excellent.
The myriad of screens at the console spring to life, showing menus and star charts and a dazzling mosiac of text. Several error warnings appear on the screen - damaged subsystems for the telescope. Tyrrin frowns. "Less damage than I expected. I wonder if someone's already been working on it. Either way, we won't see much with these clouds, but I do have some recordings and images of some distant stars and planets, if you'd like?"

Repp, the Bleached |

"No, none of them. My little brother shoots light from his hands though, it's pretty cool when he takes the time to set prisms up. He only does that to show off though."
"And he is here at the school as well Michael?" Repp continues to act with the typical unabated gnomish curiosity, despite the grim 'work' they were doing.

Dom Waverider |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

He gives her a short wave and smile as she, raelle, igni, Hermes, and Arthur get ported.
The smile is gone with them.
"Well at lest some one is making you happy." Dom teases after the group ports off. "Well I'm glad to see Mel's fine after yesterday, but on to the present. Hmm lets see time to start operation get the kitty laid. Now to find a good target."

Tybalt Baneko |

"Mm." He says, unamused about Dom's comment on Mel making him happy.
He sets his tray down at the table in front of them and looks at it.
Dom makes his second comment and Tybs probably would've dropped the tray if he hadn't set it down.
"What?" He says, not quite yelling, but loud in the way of being surprised.
He jerks his head around and looks at Dom.
He looks surprised, scared, confused and generally flustered.

Lyere |

Lyere scrutinizes Carl's blade after hearing him say he isn't able to get it to work right. Sitting outside with it and going over the schematic for the blades, he inspects its hook-ups for any faults
"Here?...no. No, not there either....hmmm" he mutters the schematic resting in his lap as he turns the chainsword over in his hands.

Carl "Ironfist" Promethium |

Carl comes past,
"get ya self ready, the others are here now, TinMan time to go"
He activates the air locks that start to close.
He makes his way to the flight deck and powers up his ship for take off

He looks up from his work as Carl goes by, carrying the unfinished blade and schematic with him after he hears the words 'get ready' looking for a place to sit tight and continue working.

Anahita: Knowledge (Dungeoneering) and (The Planes) if you have them.
While Anahita is looking around and seeking out tracks and such, which she does rather quickly with clear expertise in the subject, she pauses at the mental communication held and then takes a fraction of a second in her examinations to think of a reply telepathically to the Collective.
::Warcaller, or as I sought to convey with use of the term, is as Vai thought. He or She appointed and/or trained to make the decisions and tactical choices we, as a trained group of combatants, all choose to, or due to training, follow in case of combat, or default too in the situation where it is practical purpose to do so. Given what has been shared, however, I suspect going about this without the appointed Warcaller, as we are untrained as a group, is most likely least conflict inducing. For those of you I have not met, I am Anahita bint Tariq. My greetings to you and apologies for the curtness of my manner at this time, the lack of proper and polite exchange of pleasantries which is preferred, though it is very impressive that we can continue this thinking conversation while actually doing other things at length, what a wonderful ability, Phaezeriel. Do you tire when applying it, is there a limit to how many people can be included in this? I'm surprised the entire school isn't included in this fashion-- it would facilitate so many possibilities. Plus, it doesn't require the actual moving of the mouth, so very efficient if hunting and the need for silence is required or desired. Amazing. I am most likely speaking, or as it were, thinking quite more then I should, but this is very exciting. I am excited.::
While that thinking happens in the short instant needed to think, Anahita pauses and looks around after her examination of the tracks.
Then, a moment or so later, she peers off at the tracks of the dragged massive and heavy object.
Thinking into the Collective again, Anahita asks:
::Vai, how many people populated this town? Rough estimate-- in terms of adults and children? I have a sense of what has occurred, given the tracks I see, but ... well, no point in waiting, just note it is speculation.::
There is a moment of mental pause, as if taking a breath.
::The population of this town, per Sadie's suggestion, were assaulted from without by non-human or natural beings, most likely either created or fashioned by magic or something I would call magic, until I learn more, then herded into that large building, stuffed into a massive twenty or larger foot container, a bag of some material, capable of holding the population, and then dragged out of town elsewhere. Given the history I have heard from Vai's past of this town, perhaps someone previously related to her Uncle, or similar minded.::
She gives a brief point of her right hand to help with the verbal, assuming people are peering at her when she speaks mentally to the Collective.
::Apologies, if no one did see, I indicated by hand just then-- the assumed contents were dragged out in a...:: she gives the appropriate direction and heading ::based on this world's Sun's motion in the sky, plus those land masses view-able in that direction, which I will label as east and west, respectively, to aid in my retelling of what I have deduced. This all occurred, per the tracks I have examined, twenty to twenty four hours earlier. Our hours. What an unusual ... extra thought. Fascinating. Ah, apologies again, I shall refine my level of expressing. That slipped.::
For anyone looking Anahita's way, she's completely stone faced through out the sharing and such, as if there's no point in expressing. She doesn't even look back for reactions for her summary.
Trying out the When in Rome manner of posting, WIRing it!

Lang Fei |

Midori giggles slightly at his response to 'catching lightning'. Little does she know that if Lang were a skilled enough Firebender, he might be able to do just that.

Midori asks Lang, looking at the bird, knowing that it wasn't likely to attack her, so she didn't have to worry about those razor sharp talons.
You bet he does.
Lang makes a motion with his hand and shows Midori how to do it. On the command Simba lowers to within their reach.
Simba like to have this area right here on the sides of his neck to be rubbed. its probably his most favorite spot.
Lang takes Midori's hand and shows her the exact spot placing her hand on the side of Simba's neck. right here he shows her with a smile as Simba responds with enjoyment of the attention.
Once Midori has a grasp of where Simba likes to be scratched, Lang steps back to allow them a chance to bond.
As she continues to pet Simba Lang goes to the hanger opening, staring out, watching the rain fall. glancing back every so often to see things are going well with Simba and Midori.

Ghalen Kiln |

While delivering his request to the Headmaster, Ghalen has definitely taken note of the other man in the office. Was that a hint of recognition in his eyes, or a glance to make sure he's not interrupting? He says nothing to the man, seemingly returning his focus to the headmaster...

Dom Waverider |

"Mm." He says, unamused about Dom's comment on Mel making him happy.
He sets his tray down at the table in front of them and looks at it.

He looks surprised, scared, confused and generally flustered.
Dom laughs at his reaction. "I have always found it's a great way to change your focus and stop thinking of the bad stuff. Just what you need really." He tells him with a smile.

You can tell your viewpoint is drastically different than what he believes...

Settro |

settro walks into the lunchroom, full demonic form. He looks around, then takes a seat midway between tesadrian and tybalt.

Lyere |

Lyere scratches his feathered head, starting to dismantle the guard from the blade in order to find out why Carl can't get it to work. As he does so, his eyes continually scan the blade and the engine for imperfections.
"Curse the adeptus mechanus and their infernal writing, I can barely make heads or tails of these scribbles" he sighs "...If it isn't the hook-up, what could it be?"

Settro |

settro looks back and forth between the two. He walks over to tesadrian. And looks him over.

"Love means love. Sex is sex. Sex is better with some one you love trust me I know." A wink follows his words tell Tybs his feels are for Tami. "But till you find that some one it's nice to go out and play."

Dom Waverider |

Mel will never be apart of one of my plans, at least in that since. Music plans and non sexual plans I can not promise anything.

Settro |

settro stands still for a seemingly long period of time after casting a spell (detect magic)
