The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

I note the use of the word original

I'm an engineer

"if it's not broke it doesn't have enough features"

therefor hermes is heavily modded. he's got a lot of unrelated equipment
some of his stuff is "would this be what a kid tony stark would find cool"
he narrowly avoided having a toaster installed, though his torch has a "creme brulee" setting.

this heavy modding to his hardware and software adding programs and such without accounting previous infrastructure is probably what brought about his burgeoning sentience

Hmmm I'm hearing.... upgrade my torch to a weapon grade

oh it has weapon settings too,
his repulsors do 6d6 to one target either bludgeoning, fire or sonic depending on setting
he can even turn them into swords that do the same thing

This is one of the things I liked about Rifts...if you wanted to make a custom cyborg, you had hella detailed rules and options to do so.

As an update, John Oliver Shafer passed away last night at 19:25 CST, surrounded by family.
He was a great man. I've not met his like since, both strong and humble.
He was a great father and grandfather, and will be sorely missed.

Out of curiosity/boredom
Where in the hierarchy of hell would an imp chancler formally a familiar to a drow noble from a traditionally evil royal house member (and this improved evasion, int 22 SR 25~) with 18lvls of warlock 1lvl of sorscerer (Orc bloodline/the one that uses int for casting)

Ok I am starting to look for other games now.

I am getting worried on the future of this game. Lyn has put so much into this I would hate to see it go. but Her school work must take priority.

I hope we can come back to this soon.

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

That's odd...
I've never seen this game as a commitment like a weekend TT session with my RL friends. Takeing a break from this for me is like taking a break from any other computer game.

Am I the odd man out?

No need for the alarmism Edward. I did post that Lyn said she would be back by the end fothe weekend. We've taken longer hiatuses from this game before. Heck, back right before we had all the new folks come in, there was like a 2 month break.

Kryz: I feel it's kinda like a tabletop only in the sense that "if I don't post, people will be waiting on me" sense.

Shadow Lodge

I kind of agree with Kryzbyn. There have been some large gaps in this game before when no one has been posting. A few days is nothing, really.

sorry all, I wasn't here for those other breaks so this is new to me.

I just know with other games that many times breaks turn into dead games

Day 4: Things are not looking good; I've noticed Death Keeper eyeing my leg, I've managed to keep him away with a new mustache everyday, however, my Sharpie is almost out, I don't think I'll last much longer. Hopefully my new security systems will keep him at bay long enough to acquire a new shipment of Sharpies. If this doesn't work out, then all hope is lost and I shall have to fire the Death Star MK VII straight into the core, drawing power from all the stars and maybe, just maybe stop this monster.

huh weird, a line I wrote is missing half of it the fourth line should read

I'm looking for a new site for my new stronghold, the roof seems viable but somewhat too final for my tastes, perhaps the garage...

but somehow, either I accidently deleeted the end of that sentance and didn't notice, or the site was weird so without further adu

Day 4-Q.7

time seems to be damaged things that happened end up have not happened, I swear the cat has been eaten at least 3 times, and yet he seems fine, if insane and in denial
garage seems viable and has potential utility if I can train the residents to become my rodent army,
I have begun encodeing my memoirs in case they fall into the wrong hands, no one must know.........

uhh volcano fire damage is really high

and in the show lava is a big deal to bend for either fire or earth benders... plus you don't know fire yet... or earth..

and bending is kinda a big time concious decision

also.... why can I not say even a word about cancer, but you can talk about people killing themselves??

Shadow Lodge

It's funny, unless I look right at Lang's picture, I don't remember that's an older guy avvy. I just see this little kid.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

same here.

Shadow Lodge

Weird fact: boiling water in pathfinder doesn't deal fire damage, but scalding damage. If you wanted to be a complete rules laywer(jerk) you could say resistance/immunity to fire doesn't doesn't you from getting hurt if boiling water is splashed on you.

But fire resistance 1 makes you immune to lava... >.>

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

????
what?
*looks it up*

Lava

Lava or magma deals 2d6 points of damage per round of exposure, except in the case of total immersion (such as when a character falls into the crater of an active volcano), which deals 20d6 points of damage per round.

Damage from lava continues for 1d3 rounds after exposure ceases, but this additional damage is only half of that dealt during actual contact (that is, 1d6 or 10d6 points per round). Immunity or resistance to fire serves as an immunity to lava or magma. A creature immune to fire might still drown if completely immersed in lava (see Drowning).

Grushdeva du kalt misht

Nerf that s*#$!!!!

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

so fire resist 1 no damage from touching the lava itself but the air around the lava...

Extreme heat (air temperature over 140° F, fire, boiling water, lava) deals lethal damage. Breathing air in these temperatures deals 1d6 points of [b]fire damage per minute (no save). In addition, a character must make a Fortitude save every 5 minutes (DC 15, +1 per previous check) or take 1d4 points of nonlethal damage. [b]Those wearing heavy clothing or any sort of armor take a –4 penalty on their saves.

so immerse yourself in lava with an object that gives 1 fire resist and cast air bubble

1d6 save for +1d4 non lethal......

apparently 5th caster level burning hands is hotter than lava....

--------________--------

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

the only lava that actually deals fire damage is the 8th lvl druid/sorcerer/wizard spell "wall of lava"

or the hits from a magma elemental, magma primal, lava childs (though only 1d6+splash damage) a CR 14 trap and a few other races

Reading this, it looks like a typo...

It should say resistance or immunity to lava

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

Yeah, but it doesn't say it
Coupled with not explicitly calling it fire damage means that a rules lawyer with an ifrit would not only not be hurt but would heal from bring in lava...

Shadow Lodge

Um, how? An ifrit only heals from fire damage, which lava doesn't do despite fire resistance/immunity protecting against lave.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

The air does 1d6 per minute (no save)+ an extra 1d4 non lethal every 5

1 i dont know what you said about cancer

I'm sorry about that last part Lang it was rude and unnessairy, it was mostly a bad joke at MG for throwing a hissyfit earlier, (about a week ago I think?)
I do find suacide to be vastly worse than cancer, one is just being sick and dieing, it happens, nothing more to it
The other just... The concept of feeling so... Empty and hopeless as to feel there i nothing left for you, that no one will care if you die...
It's just so intrinsically wrong
Sickness I understand
Murder even I understand
Suacide I don't get it and I don't want to

(Reference to dr. Mic ninja. And i don't think any of you are immortal, so i don't think you'll take offense.)
