It just melts things. Fire damage effectively in game terms.

Possibly electricity damage too, depending on how you're making the plasma.

Shadow Lodge

Paizo has plasma set at half fire damage and half electricity damage for their Numeria creatures.

Don't feel singled out I Mock Every one equally :)

Cyborg Drinks any one

Fiery electric is pretty good.... but against things with multiple resistances it'll suck... back up weapon may be required....

Damage range [reasonable sounding?]

Shadow Lodge

Two handed? 2-3d6 sounds about right.

The kid-

Every time he dies to a attack or spell, his ac or respective save goes up by one vs that spell or attack. This is a insight bounus.

Example
Ac = 10
Dies to shurikin
Ac = 11 vs shurikin

Also, every time he dies to a specific opponent, cmb and to hit vs that opponent increases.

I'm asking because a handgun deals 2d6

At this level, if you can't add anything to the damage, str, dex, ect... defiantly.

Aah but you said it's designed purpose is as a tool

The weapon is 500lbs

Shadow Lodge

Okay, I'm still going to go with 2-3d6 then.

That melts spaceship steel... people have much lower melting points

Welders are designed to do that inches away not meters
This would be a melee weapon if its going to have any resemblance on anything that could be called a welder

Now.... in 3000 years? With plasma?

Imagine welding 3/4 of a mile of metal from an inch away....

Takes too long... do it so you can make 80 ft sweeps and then touch up errors...

Much more effecient

Shadow Lodge

We often use plasma now, it's just ionized gass

But really welding is a finess job, narrow beams otherwise you have a weakened structure at best or a puddle at worst
No I'm sorry you could be doing this in space at worst would be the puddle hitting and adhering to the welder as precious air escapes the now bigger hole

In that case, I think it should be a 25 foot line.
The closer they are to you, the heavier the damage is.
Next to you 5d6 square away 4d6, 3d6, 2d6, 1d6 farthest away.
For every body in the way of another you also drop the power by a die.
Energy counts as half fire half electric.

Also, why is mithril so hard? It's silver and steel?

Mithril is NOT a metal, but a crystal that is forged LIKE a metal. Thank you Dwarves. the nature of its crystalline origins is the reason for its hardness.

where do you get this from

I get my information from 2e
In 2e mighril is described as an alchemetical mixture of silver and steel
There is some dispute between the elves and the dwarves over who developed the technique first

Here is from the SRD on special materials
Mithral is a very rare silvery, glistening metal that is lighter than steel but just as hard.

I forget where I found that, but that's always seemed to make the most sense.

*shrugs* okay

This gives me an idea... rounds of it hitting you causes damage to grow... 3d6, 4d6, 5d6

If it misses for a round damage drops by a step....

Hows that?

The thing is, Mithril isn't silver and steel. It's just treated like silver for overcoming damage reduction.

I don't think it should get more intense. You can get the same effect by just walking towards them while you use it. Since it's made to melt metal, it could have effects on metal armour and weapons as well as burning magic items.
It fits the weapon really well thematically.
But if you use that, it shouldn't do more than 4d6(possibly d8).

Shadow Lodge

Perhaps an effect like heat metal?

in 2e it was described as such

Shadow Lodge

We're not using 2e though.

true, but that little blurb about it being a rare silvery metal is the only description I've found in pathfinder

the silver/steal mithril has history and culture tied to it, thus I preferr it

Ever put hot water on a burn?

And I don't want to be up close with a ranged weapon

You're a laborer. You can take a punch. And fire is hottest at the source. It makes sense to be more powerful closer up.

No. I haven't put hot water on a burn. Why would I? :P

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

you're using a welder as a weapon

that's awesome yes, but highly impracticable

any attempt to make it more realistic will just demonstrate that further

Shadow Lodge

Caught Off Guard: all weapon damage from the welder's size(two-handed of course) would e plasma damage while it's on.

It means just use the feat and you're good.

No... explain what the feat does please, I don't understand

Shadow Lodge

It let's you use improvised weapons without a -4 penalty to the attack room.

Owwww....

Then add Improvised Weapon Mastery to make it a little better.

male Grey Elf Oracle (bones, black blooded, duel cursed) 5/arcanist 3/glory rouge 2 (mageslayer)

hey monkey god, what happened to you and Ice king Petrov in the other campaign?

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

I got too annoyed with the bickering over my entrance. The GM had a way for me to come back, and it was even really cool, but I just didn't trust the PCs any longer.(Not you per se, though I don't recall your reaction).

Really a bummer, because the PC woulda been awesome and lots of fun, but yea, too much whiny crybabyness.

male Grey Elf Oracle (bones, black blooded, duel cursed) 5/arcanist 3/glory rouge 2 (mageslayer)

I actually didn't react other than get ready in case you would attack, because you don't get to that tier of power without either divine intervention or a healthy amount of paranoia, and it was definitely a possibility

I also liked the character he looked like fun

I am also dissapointed because its one less person available to animate upon death
