Meh, a fighter has his strength... mainly dealing the most (consistent) single target damage in the game.
Wizards are bursty - generally their single target damage is weak compared to a fighter of the same level, and save-or-die spells are unreliable, especially at higher levels since saves scale up faster than save DCs.
This makes wizards a utility/support class to me.
(Also, Wombat, there's no reason a Wizard couldn't train to use that Plasma cannon ;P)

any challenge other than combat
things like locks, hidden places, mysteries,sneaking past a sleeping dragoncasters can also fly, teleport, bring back the dead, raise an army (with or without recruiting/taking leadership but I'm referring to without) read minds create fortresses or ENTIRE DEMENSIONS
fighters are better at combat, thats their thing, thats what they do, wizards do everything else (and aren't useless for fighting)

Alright, folks, first of all, thank you very much for being understanding and letting me have this time that I so desperately needed. I have honestly spent the last week doing nothing but homework (well, and other basic necessary things like childcare, cooking, laundry, some cleaning...you get the idea) and am mostly caught up. I still have a midterm to write and a research paper to well...research. But these assignments are actually current to this week so I should be able to manage. But I may need to maintain a somewhat slower speed of posting for a bit.
So what I'm going to do is spend a little bit of time tonight going through my PMs and ferreting out the ones that never got answered as I was on the edge of a nervous breakdown and work on answering some of those.
Tomorrow morning probably around ten am EST I will continue with the updating. I am going to ask that you all refrain from posting in the game thread until I give the all-clear as I have very limited time before a full afternoon of classes and I want to at least get caught up to current before post explosion. :D
Also I missed you all bunches and the journal updates made me laugh. :)

Not really. The best thing that y'all can do is just leave it and let me go through things systematically to make sure I get caught up.
One thing I will say (again) is that I tend to drop stuff when I'm in more than five scenes at once. One of the things that was causing some problems for me was the number of scenes we had going. I'm probably going to trim some of the ones that were bogging down more with summaries instead of playing out every detail so I can move the ones that need to be background to the background and focus on the ones that are actually in need of my immediate attention.
