Well given that the command words don't even have to be words, unless I read something wrong, I'd say telepathy activated would be fine but conciseriding the spell in the ring, it's unlikely that ill need it any Time soon, and the situations that would require me to use telapathy to activate it are so few and far between that it probably won't even matter.
But yeah I'll wait for DM approval

Alright, just doing a quick wrap up for my characters, more for my own sake, but also to give everyone an idea of their afternoons:
Tyrrin agreed to meet Ghalen, and still has to talk to Aananda after class.
Ehos is chilling, will probably be looking for Jaiye again after classes ;)
Vare has an excellent meal in the cafeteria (the food looks questionable in the Dreamscape but is in fact delicious).
Ardiente is unconscious in the infirmary, though the trance has accelerated the healing process, so he's beginning to stir.
Vai is going to have a large dinner after classes are done for the day (she spends at least the rest of lunch with her Mom though)
Midori is being adorable. That is all.
She has reason to be warry of his scythe , it's a powerful magical object, whose blade is made of a black energy substsnce kinda scary looking really
Alright kids, I am once again up a fair amount later than I meant to be, so I and my endless awesomeness are off to bed.

I think I am going to definitely end up developing what my best friend likes to call "Toon ADD", which is what she says she has due to all her characters in WoW.
I have a lot of cool characters that would be fun to bring into this game, if for no other reason than the level and gestalt makes some of them much more viable than would be otherwise. Plus, there's no limit to how many I can play, in the same game.

Other PCs may feel free to step in on the Midori scene currently in progress. After all, there's now a small hooded person walking through the halls holding weaponry.
Hmm, there is no one in magical engenering, and so far as I know the class with Ryleh is tabled unless the other student in the class shows up, if I'm wrong there can be flashbacks!
At this point the class with Ryleh is just boring lecture. Basic info (ie there are three types of dragons and a little background on each) and that's all ther's time for the first day.) I'm not sure what happened to Kiara.

I realize poor Midori is going to detention for this (assuming either of the attacks hit), but oh well. She has to learn at some point.

The Good News - I get to go in for said interview tomorrow morning, at the university library of my alma mater. I know quite a few folks there who can vouch for me (^-^)
The Scary News - After a tour of the relevant facilities, I get to be grilled by an interview panel of about half a dozen folks, then go in for a one-on-one with the Associate Dean of the library. (o_O)

Looking at the situation I would surmise that a sleight of hand vs perception would be needed to even decide if Dave noticed the attack. Since a throw normally provokes an AOE. The Shuriken however would still fly. The kunai would be interrupted.
Again just my take on it.
