Leander Mulberry |

As you guys probably noticed, I may not always be able to post on Tuesdays. Lab work has been picking up quite significantly and it's also my RL game day so I can be a bit hard pressed to find the time to post then.

Steave Rojerz |

I'm traveling today out of the country and returning Monday. My Internet will be intermittent at best. Bot me as necessary.
cheers

Sorry if I couldn't post in the last two days everyone! I had to study way more than I thought and I have been dead tired for the last 48 hours: if I tried to write something, it would have been mostly incoherent babbling. D:
On a game related note, I realized I did something incredibly stupid: Soulseer(the Deathwatch-granting trait) and the "You don't need to sleep" alternate racial ability both replace the Tiefling SLA, so I can't have both <.<
Well, I've already made ample use of Deathwatch, so I'll stick with it.

Steave Rojerz |

Folks
Did we rest or not? Lisandra, if we do rest, please look at the Campaign Info tab. The NPCs are down more than 6 hp.
Whether we rest or not, let's go.
cheers

Steave Rojerz |

It would appear they did. Let's assume that healing was dumped, and get this show on the road.
thanks!

Steave Rojerz |

Spooky's busy recruiting superheroes.
cheers

Sorry about the initiative mix-up. I did read the initiative order, but somehow mixed it up as soon as I read it.
I find it's very helpful to have the results of initiative posted, rather than having to study the results of the rolls and figure out the order - and I'd think it would be useful to you, too, Spooky. Most GMs I play with via PbP do it this way - though it wouldn't even have to be you that posts the order, any of us could do it.

Aleister Sune |

I like this method
Round 1) Player 1, Player 2, Enemy, Player 3, Enemy 2, Player 4
The people in bold see their name and know it's their turn to post an action. Then the DM does something for the enemy an then you see
Round 1) Player 1, Player 2, Enemy, Player 3, Enemy 2, Player 4

Spooky GM |

My method is, unless I make a mistake, everyone who moves before the enemy moves. Then the enemy moves in one turn for the sake of pacing. Then the whole party is free to move. Usually I'll note 'Okay, 1, 2, and 5 are up, then enemies', unless I mess up, as I did there. If we separate the enemies, it slows things down as we have to wait on a single person's action, as opposed to where with this, even a large combat can move at a pace of at least a round a day.

Aleister Sune |

Usually I group enemies together as types.
So Enemy 1 would be a group of Goblins
Then Enemy 2 would be a Worg. But either way is fine.

Aeryx |
I like grouping all the enemies, as Spooky describes - definitely keeps things moving faster. I didn't notice that Aleister's suggested approach above split the enemies up. I was just commenting on the presentation of the information, which makes clear what the initiative order is, and who's up at any given time.

Spooky GM |

I might un-group enemies when there's a huge disparity or it's an important battle, but for the most part, we're looking at minor skirmishes where post rate should be kept as constant as possible. Like right now, where you've finally graduated past being glorified holy exterminators (I even dropped an encounter with a snake because it was getting kind of ridiculous). Minor fights are their own beast.

Menedemus Aultor |

Sorry for posting out of order.
I did it without thinking because in the other PbP I play here we group up the enemies and the party from the start of battle, making an average of the initiative rolls of the 2 groups.
Again, sorry. :(

Steave Rojerz |

I politely PMed both Lisandra and Leander on Saturday highlighting that it was their actions in combat.
cheers

Leander Mulberry |

Thanks for botting me over the weekend. Some times lab work sucks, like when it extends into the weekends.
That said, I'm not quite sure what the position of the darkmantle is at the moment. I'm asking because Leander will not shoot into melee, he knows better than that, but he can't draw a blade, move and attack in one round.

Steave Rojerz |

The darkmantles collect at the ceiling before dive-bombing us. Fire away.

Menedemus Aultor |

Woof woof!

Steave Rojerz |

pfoot!

Spooky GM |

Sorry, had a much more inebriated Saturday than intended, was in no state to be making posts when I got home.
Lisandra and Leander, you have until tonight to make a post, or I'm sorry, but I'll have to seek replacements, the game is being held back a fair bit while waiting for either of you to make your posts.

Menedemus Aultor |

EDIT:Nevermind. I shouldn't have tried to remember in which situation I could switch with the Suicidal trait without referencing it.

Spooky GM |

I don't know how much of an interest anyone has in giving some input/votes on who the replacement will be, but if you are, keep an eye on this thread.

Aeryx |
GM - I'll be keeping an eye on the re-recruitment thread, and am definitely interested in providing input. As the entries take shape, I'll take a look at them, and probably provide input via PM, so the candidates can't peek.

Lisandra Elsinore |

Lisandra is unfortunately out, though.
It's cool Spooky, I was going to suggest replacing me anyway after this past weekend. The reality is I'm unable to post most weekends throughout the summer, and this group is quite prolific when it comes to posting... I've just had a hard time keeping up (for a variety of reasons I won't bore you with).
Good luck everyone, and happy gaming.

Menedemus Aultor |

I have restricted my favorite entries from the re-recruitment to two, Spooky. I'll reorganize my thoughts and send you a PM later.
