Remember that you no longer get all of your mythic points back every day. You get ONE back every day.
Also, it's not EXACTLY what you said - the DC for activating a scroll is 1+the scroll's CL, and it's a CL check. You definitely succeeded at casting all of them, as you didn't even add your CL.
Right. I'd need to roll a 5 or greater in that case. We're doing the same math in slightly different ways. Regardless we'll have out demiplane and portal in about 12 game hours.
Is there a place on the ship we're going to attach this portal to or will it need to be built?

Sparel Radtymah |

The portal location conversation is mostly for role play opportunity. I, the player, am not clear on the plan for the gun.
Is the portal on the front of the ship? Will that keep the ship from floating in water?
Just let me know what's going on and Sparel will cover the details.

I *think* the plan was for us to mount the portal on the prow (front) of the ship and trust our manoeuvrability to line up shots (the cannon itself, once acquired, could be mounted in such a way on the demiplane to allow some adjustment of the line of fire). But more optimally, the portal could be mounted on a gyroscope like construction to allow a wider angle of fire.
But, since we don't have that cannon yet (it is on the to-steal list!), we might be best served by putting the portal somewhere secure and only construct the alignment features and/or opening later?
Nevertheless, I don't think an (properly made) hatch would affect the floating properties of the ship overly much. Such hatches can be made reasonable watertight (in heavy seas, old warships typically closed their gun ports and survived at a somewhat reasonable rates :P) and for the rest of the water - there are pumps (or lackeys with buckets!).
We might need a carpenter for that - or some applicable magic.
But I don't think we are planning on spending much time floating anyhow?

Also, the portal doesn't have to be so linear as a permanent and doorway. A previous incarnation of this character had a metal sphere that opened into a medium sized ring. The portal was tied to that ring. Essentially he kept his demiplane portal in his pocket.
I believe it was RAW, but regardless the DM was good with it.
We could create some thing similar that can be moved around for targeting and/or use a single portal for both entry/exit and firing. How big is the "Ray" that comes out of this gun?

Sparel Radtymah |

You guys have no idea how big the gun is in reality, but the one in Alkenstar (which is larger) has a barrel that's seven feet in diameter.
Then presumably we need it to be at least that big. Perhaps we could make a portal on the hold doors now, to be used for both goods and people, then worry about the gun portal when we actually have the thing in our possession. I'm on my phone and can't check now, but we have three scrolls, correct? Plus we can theoretically buy more if we need.

Yes, there are three scrolls that you have - one for the blank plane and one for each feature that you'd like.
You could indeed make a demiplane with two portals - one on the inside of the ship and one on the outside.
Also, Sparel, there's no Crow's Nest. The ship doesn't have any masts.

The crows nest was more for rhetorical absurdity, but good to know.
I guess the real question is how does the team want to handle the other two scrolls? One is a portal. The other could be any number of things depending.

Now, after this, it seems as if picking up and introducing any notworthy new swab-members of the crew is on the order.
Then, we simply have to decide where to go and sprinkle in some training montages : )
Now - where do we want to go?
I recall that we wanted to steal/acquire the big cannon.
Also that we wanted to try out some ship-to-ship combat/boarding
And there was some talk about Numeria earlier?
There also seems to be this little nice zombie plot going on. Perhaps we could even plunder the armada as it leaves the Eye? That way, our 'foes' would be weakened and we could acquire all their hard-earned loot :D

The undead plot thing was something I came up with because it's what's happening in the Shackles right now - of course if you leave and go somewhere else (say, the depths of the Mwangi Expanse looking for that huge cannon) I'll come up with appropriate events for that place too.

Sparel Radtymah |

In case it's unclear I'm talking about making the portals adjustable in order to make them multi-purpose. I've got a design idea in my head that's fairly simple. I'll draw and post it if I get a chance.

Sparel Radtymah |

When it's flat you can go down into the demiplane via stairs. When we need to use the weapon move it up to the portal on the demiplane side with the end just through the portal to the prime. Adjust as needed to fire.

Sparel Radtymah |

I've been waiting on the captains to chime in and make a decision on the portal placement. If you want me to just fabricate the directional portal contraption I can just do that to move the game along. We seem to have stalled again.

It seems as if this game is winding down a bit. Some e-stalking reveals that lein seems to be busy IRL and don't know about Prae. It has even been moved to inactive! Maybe this truly is the end, or yet another beginning : )?
Anyhow!
I just wanted to say that I've had real fun here and if it were to gain momentum again, wouldn't hesitate to leap back to it : )
