I think I just realized something interesting. Oni might be the only outsiders who actually have bodies, because of how they were created - corrupted kami spirits who take over the bodies of other creatures. In this case, the body of a kitsune was taken.
Keiko Gasai |
I'm reading the pfsrd page on them, and I the closest I can find is "Eventually, an oni's spirit manifests a physical body on the Material Plane. The methods by which this may occur vary, but the process generally takes place in areas already despoiled by sin, tragedy, or cruelty." which would indicate that such taking over of an existing body would be possible, but not necessarily the norm. It seems like a physical body is willed into existence, "Manifests", as the Kami become s an Oni. They definitely emphasize that this is a real, physical body though. Hence Native Outsider and capable of being Raised.

*Cough* Tieflings, Assimaar, Slyphs ect *cough* :P
As Keiko mentioned, that trait (real bodies) is shared among many of the Native outsiders.
(Which, logically, means that one should be able to kludge together a Create Undead variant for them and slap 'em with the zombie template or something ...)
Sparel Radtymah |
Yep so like Eventually ill need to get in to my coffin in there.
Shouldn't be a problem. Do I need to actively do anything or can you just gaseously float in?
Lucrecia Henderthane |
Mine and Keiko's.
I decided to deal with the spider first, since while not uber dangerous, it is probably capable of webbing a certain elf if we let it :P
Contemplated using Lu's breath weapon to tag both the spider and Keiko's bane, but not sure if it was worth it.

Plus my plan is to heal you next turn, though you don't know that for certain in character. It's just the smart thing to do.
Sparel Radtymah |
Also, on the topic of us being grabbed/held/snatched ect the spell Liberating Command might be worth looking into : )
Here's my dilemma.
Liberating command is a one time bonus to Kieko of +20.
However, Grease is a +10 bonus for several minutes.
Though after I heal you I suspect you'll be able to jump on it and beat it down.
though I don't know this in character, I'm not sure either spell is going to help Kieko that much. If I could touch her I could D-Door her out of there, theoretically.
Edit: of course I could just throw a cloud kill on the both of them since Kieko is still protected by my earlier spell. Edit 2: disregard. The thing is immune to poison.
Sparel Radtymah |
Yeah, Liberating Command works best with a small investment in Escape Artist : )
I think dog piling on the thing is the best approach. After all, it's got the grappled condition also. I think anyway.
Sparel Radtymah |
Yah, I was mostly thinking for future uses anyhow! It is a first level spell with a very nice casting time, so I just thought I'd make a case for it : )
Oh, I didn't even notice the casting time. Yea. That definitely makes it worth it.
Of course in my case i'll have to use a mythic point to cast it right now.
Sparel Radtymah |
my coffin is in your bag of holding so like if the bags open it should be all good for me to get back in there and take a nap for an hour
I'll take an action to open the bag for the sake of good form.
Related: it's a full action to open, locate, and draw something. Presumably slightly opening a bag is only a move action at most.

Can I get you to not look at the statblocks of the enemies you face unless I link you the statblock? You didn't roll high enough on your Knowledge check to know everything about it, let alone look at its entire statblock.
Also, opening the bag of holding is probably just a move action, but you will need to pull the coffin out of there eventually. Assuming that it's porous and Prae can get in without it being open.

Keiko's Bane - hp 102/243 AC 34, touch 16, ff 28, Fort +18, Ref +21, Will +18, (immune to death effects, disease, poison), DR 10/adamantine, Resist cold+electricity 10, CMD 42, SR 24
It is sorta visible :P
Sparel Radtymah |
It is, but that doesn't mean that your PC actually knows that.
That information is so that you can adjudicate your own attacks.
I was just considering things OOC. My in character actions will reflect my knowledge in character. My original plan was to heal LU and let her maul things to death. It seems the most probable way to achieve a positive outcome burning the least amount of resources. As such that's the plan I will stick with.

Regarding the coffin I assume a remotely intelligent vampire will leave a small hole in the coffin to get in and out with gaseous form.
Edit: or simply not go to the trouble of vacuum sealing the lid. :-) it's probably an old school wooden coffin and not a modern nitrogen infused sealed time capsule we use these days.
Edit 2: of course now I have this amusing mental image of shrink wrapping a coffin with a vampire inside. Just wait for high noon and crack it open.

I'm curious what would have happened had she failed the save. Due to the events around her fall, I'm pretty sure she's actually forgotten the name she held when she was a Kami. Would "I don't know!" have been considered a truthful answer?
Keiko Gasai |
Assuming that she actually doesn't know, it probably would be. Refusal to answer, of course, results in damage and sickening, but if you answer to your best ability to avoid it.
Shoulda used a different spell. Oh well.
Well, I'm also not sure how much the Morrigna or whoever trained her knows about me. I don't exactly go around telling everyone that I've forgotten my True Name.

Did you mean an Int headband or is it actually an Int belt?

I'm of course open to suggestion and negotiation, however, I would like the following items if possible:
- Unfettered shirt
- Cloak of resistance +4 (or +2 if someone has a greater need)
That's all I really have use for.

You already have a robe of the archmagi and thus cannot wear the cloak of resistance in addition to that.
Lucrecia Henderthane |
Well, he *can* wear it. It just won't do anything useful, right :P?
(Robe = Body, Cloak = Back)
@Spa - As leinathan pointed out, doesn't your Robe already provide a +4 resistance bonus?
Lucrecia Henderthane |
Lucrecia Henderthane |
@Cloak - However, as I invested in a +5 cloak with my starting money, I do not need it either.
@Ring of Force Shield - I am not sure exactly how this one interacts with swashbuckling, will need to look it up (aka if it disrupts all the 'you need a free hand' stuff).
On the other hand, Lu already has a rather good AC and boosting it further may screw with encounter balance a bit (and she has the Shield spell already :P)
@Overlord's Fang - *pokes at Spa's Spellcraft score* (Maybe later once we are safe IC?
@Excess loot - Some of these staple pieces could probably be handed down to our sidekicks, if they are expected to see combat. Thoughts : )?
Keiko Gasai |
Out of the dropped items, the following would be of potential use to Keiko:
Amulet of Nat Armor +3 (Currently has +2)
Headband of Vast Int +4 (No Headband atm, and would be handy for Alchemist-y things!)
Also, while looking through my gear for this comparison, I realized that I have a Minor Cloak of Displacement. While this would have meant nothing against the Morrigna, I should have remembered that back in my previous fight and against the ghouls. Whoops! Constant 20% miss chance, as per Blur.
Keiko Gasai |
@Ring of Force Shield: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2jq8b?Potions#14
"Ring of force shield essentially grants you a +2 shield bonus to your AC as if you were wielding a heavy shield without needing to actually wield anything. It requires no hands to wield--just an open ring slot."
So I'd say it'd work with Swashbuckler, as it just counts as the ring.
Sparel Radtymah |
You can also do so here, in discussion should you feel the need.
It's a cool sword.
Spellcraft to identify the fang. 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (5) + 27 = 32
Edit: Wow. Just wow. I think i'm doomed to s@$%ty rolls on this character. I'll try again tomorrow and failing that I'll cast identify to auto-pass the check.
Keiko Gasai |
Following Sparel's failure, Keiko would ask to take a look.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (16) + 22 = 38
Keiko gladly tells the party of its functions when such is next appropriate.
