Hello! Welcome to my table. Before we start, please do the following:
Please complete the macros linked at the top of the page. This will be used for initiative and secret rolls.
Please also post your token to the slides and post your position in the marching order. The slides are also linked at the top of the page.
As per the Organized Play Foundation Community Standards, each player must decide if they will allow their characters to be damaged by friendly fire (usually via splash damage). In keeping with the “Explore, Report, Cooperate” motto of the Pathfinder Society, engaging in non-consensual character-versus-character conflict is prohibited. While accidental friendly fire happens due to missed attack rolls or other factors, players must obtain the consent of other players before deliberately including fellow PCs in damaging effects. This rule does not apply in situations where a character is not acting of their own free will, such as if they’re being mind-controlled by an NPC and forced to attack a fellow Pathfinder.
This applies to Scenarios only
You may select a consumable item from the Pathfinder Provisions list. These used to be the school items you get prior to starting an adventure. Quests and bounties do not receive provisions.

While waiting, please complete the macros as well (except Pawero) :)

You may need to update your Macros, GM Tiger. They don't include choices for Commander or Guardian.

I'm not too worried about friendly fire, but as a Guardian, I'll be taking plenty of hits and I'm only 1st level, so let's try to keep it to a necessary minimum!
GM Tiger

argh. I forgot about that... Ignore the class field.
GM Tiger

you can RP if like. I'm still waiting for the 2 co-workers (one being GM Frost who just posted to Cottonseed about it)... :)
GM Tiger

Steelmantle/Payani, do either of you have a glyph?
Frost has 3
Pawero has 2
Just wondering if we can complete the set.
Valerion, please complete the macros (incl. the skills)
GM Tiger

and I just realized how long its been since I've run this! :)

That's what this forum is for -- so you can ask questions of the more experienced players... :)

Thank you for waiting. Work audit is exhausting, as always. I will be playing with this character.

Not I. I'm the forever GM at home, so PFS is my chance to actually play! I've GMed very few 2e PFS games.
Pawero

I’ve got plenty of fortune effects as an Investigator. Give them to everyone but me. :)

Hi everyone!
This is my first time joining a play-by-post adventure on Paizo, so I’m still learning how everything works here.
Please feel free to nudge me if I miss a format detail or posting rule — I really appreciate everyone’s patience while I get the hang of things! :)
I’m also still figuring out Kesha’s spell loadout for this adventure, so if anyone has advice or favorite low-level cleric spells for support or survival in Katapesh, I’d really appreciate the tips. I want her to be as helpful to the party as possible — both in and out of combat.
I’m excited to adventure with you all in Katapesh and bring a bit of light (and first aid!) to the party. Looking forward to learning from everyone and having some fun together!

Hi! We're all pretty forgiving here, so no worries. I think the biggest thing to know is how to format "Speech," he said, or out of character speech.
Since you're a cleric and may cast buff spells, I'll mention that I like to use the BIGGER tag to put any buff spells at the end of my post so I can be somewhat sure clueless players (all other players are clueless, that's the rule of buffing), like this.
BLESS SPELL Everyone within 15' of Kesha has a +1 bonus to attack rolls.
Pawero
|
Since Clerics come with 4 Heal spells. I like to use spells like Bless and Benediction, especially at first level.

Seriously. I'm GMing a game and am kindly do that in the battle tracker for the bard, and people are still forgetting their Inspired Courage!

When I play my bard at conventions, I have pre-printed post-it notes with the spell effects written on them. I literally tear one off and slap it down on the affected player's character sheet!

Thanks so much!
That’s super helpful — I really appreciate the formatting tip and the reminder about buff visibility. I’ll definitely make sure to use the BIGGER tag when I cast healing or buffs so it’s easier for everyone to notice.
Still getting the hang of the posting format, but I’m excited to learn.

Bless is definitely on my list, and I’ve been eyeing Benediction too. Appreciate the guidance! I’m still learning the rhythm of spell prep in PbP, so any tips like this are super helpful. If you’ve got any other spell or general play-by-post tips for new clerics, I’d love to hear them!:)

Payani is in a VTT game ATM. He'll post his intro once he's done... :)

I will say that I add buffs/penalties to my combat tracker and players still don't see them so unless I miss something, reading the combat tracker helps as well :)

Payani (aka Nomadical) has a glyph so you all start with 2 HP each.

Sorry for the late arrival. I wasn't seeing updates on the Campaign page, so didn't realize you'd started. Thanks Gm for the prodding. Okay, on to the intro.

Kesha, for a scenario, each PC gets one provision. A list of provisions can be found in the link in my statblock. Default item is a healing potion. Or people can get heal scrolls to give to you to cast for them...
Now here's the thing, the provisions are not yours to keep. If you finish the adventure without using it, you have to give it back to the society... (at least, I think that's how it works).
Valereon the Starborn Duelist

Question, is Valereon’s talkativeness, confidence and bravado too much? Should I tone him down or is this type of personality acceptable in play?
Valereon the Starborn Duelist

Thank you! It's really fun roleplaying Valerio. I never thought I'd be this interested and invested in playing Pathfinder. The first time I played this game, I was too focused on the stats of my character. But now I realized that there's so much more it has to offer. The only limit to what I can do is my imagination. :)

@Valereon, my comment about you in my intro wasn't a dig at your play style. My apologies if it came across that way.
I love PBP for the same reason. No need to focus on the character sheet at the expense of focusing on the character themself. The ability to describe things that one doesn't have time to at a F2F or VTT table under a time crunch. The ability to take the time to look things up when you aren't sure or forget how something works. The ability to express thoughts for that behind-the-curtain view of the character's motivations.
This is my first game with Payani, so please bear with me as I find his voice and develop his personality.
He's not human, though he appears that way. Yaksha (Rare ACP boon ancestry hardly ever seen in PFS) are not even [Humanoid]. They are spontaneously formed of spiritual energy as guardians of forests, roads, villages, or whatever. They can theoretically live for hundreds of years or longer, but their lifestyle and role as guardians mean they rarely do.
I see him as being originally from the Forest of Spirits in Tian Xia, but as a guardian of roads and travelers, he is soul-bound to travel (like his Player). That took him throughout Tian Xia, to Goka and then beyond to Absalom. The Society seems like a good fit as they always seem to be guarding some caravan or artifact or just traveling to another place.
Mechanically he's a Tome thaumaturge with Diverse Lore. So between him and Pawero, we should be finding everything out about whatever we fight.
Oh, and he has an ancestry feat that gives everyone +2 to Initiative when he's Scouting. It does not stack with other circumstance bonuses to initiative, but it means no one else needs to Scout.

Since we kind of jumped straight from a skill challenge into a combat on the highway while escorting a caravan, I'd like to state for the record that Payani usually has his Tome implement in hand, even if he wouldn't have a weapon. But as professional Pathfinders escorting a caravan through hostile-ish territory, I'd assume we would have weapons also drawn, yes?

Actually, it was more of camp for the night, entertain the gobbos, back on the road. But yes, granted that it's hostile territory, it's reasonable that weapons (and tomes) are drawn.
Also I thought I did add the +2 to init for Payani's scouting. I'll double check but let the current one stand. I'll fix it in the next fight.

@Valereon, my comment about you in my intro wasn't a dig at your play style. My apologies if it came across that way.
No worries, as Steelmantle said, I got confused. Also, I think I was too worried that I may be violating the rules of the game in terms of positivity. But it's all clear to me now.
The way you visualize your character's origin amazes me. Is there like a pathfinder world map which can be used as a reference when creating a character's origin?

I'm reasonably certain Defend only has your shield up until your turn. Once it's your turn, you need to spend the action to raise it again.

I'm sorry for the late post and advisory. I travelled out of town last night. I'm on vacation but I will still be posting when it's my turn to act.
Also, @GM Tiger, I updated Valereon's macro. I added his +2 AC Bonus during extravagant parry and selected his exploration activity.

Please note that Paizo.com will be shutting down for a few days starting 8am Pacific Time to implement their new storefront. The boards will be inaccessible until this is complete.
I suggest we pause the game until then so that we don't lose any updates.
