Having trouble here to Kaylee - haven't been able to look over Fish Bol

As for Arduino I have a seen a few things

-NG alignment.

-Hmm is there much of them at the beginning of the campaign? I'd probably rather pick up a slingshot or some such thing than lose Message, it's quite handy.


Actually there are encounters throughout the AP -

A sling will get a -2 dmg penalty do to str - but is totally up to you as it is your character and you knw which way you want him to go.

I have him as one of those fish out of water types who I hope to watch turn into a great survivalist - think tom hanks in castaway lol


How much should she had paid for her holy symbol? I don't see a listing for ones made of bone and shell? Those materials fit her better as a sailor rather than wood and she wouldn't have one made of silver.

Hmmmm fish out of water -> Survivalist Woodsman doesn't fit too well for this character. Since he grew up in a forest however, how about he has those survival skills all along anyway? Could put the favored class bonus into Survival...


- A wooden holy symbol is 1gp - just pay that "cost" as a holy symbol is a much needed item and shouldn't be downgraded. She may not have actually spent that much to make it but that is what it is worth, due to t being a needed focus.

- Right Arduino feels at home in the forest and this will be mostly jungle - quite different. But he has the ability to become a survivalist deep down just needs some experience and such to draw it out. How you wish to play that out is up to you both crunch-wise and RP wise.

I am trying to go over characters but the links aren't really working

We can almost start without a check in as we will start aboard ship. But want everyone to make sure they have their characters where they want them to start.


If it matters later for when things are taken from us, Kaylee's holy symbol is on a choker made of woven, dried seaweed and she always keeps a dagger hidden in her boot. A girl can never be too careful in some of the rough ports the ship heads to.


LoL nervous are we - hope you play that out the first few levels. Would be nice to see her become strong not only in faith but in nerve.

It wouldn't matter if things were taken from you as they will still need to find the hidden item. In the case of the choker it will probably be an appraise check with a bonus for you do to the materials.

Let me see you want the leaf made of shell and the raindrop made of bone?


Actually I was thinking the reverse since the shell would be more opalescent and would look better as the raindrop. Both shell and bone would be common materials that she likely found herself since it would have more significance to her that way.

I think Krokod is ready. He's got a silver holy symbol of the Dawnflower on him, he's no cleric, but if the fire in your soul pulls towards Sarenrae or Asmodeous, probably better to go running into the arms of the former :)

- brass kuckles are not needed as they do the same dmg as your unarmed strike - now mastercrafted or magical ones would be cool
- skill points = 8 base(6) + INT(1) + human(1)
- to many languages should have two (can tell you Minkaian and Tien will see very little use)
- 52 gp left you can spend some of that on a cure light potion as there won't be a lot of shops on the island ;)

Quacraybool could have signed on as the ship's "surgeon" if the captain was desperate. He's good with needle and thread and has a minor (very minor) knowledge of healing.

Or he could have convinced the captain to take him aboard to maintain and repair the sails. They are fabric after all and I'm sure the gnome would be very interested in how the sails handle the stress of the winds and rain.

Fish wouldn't have told anyone he's a pirate. I mean, some of you who boarded before him or the crew could assume that, seeing as he boarded in Port Peril and looks like he went through a brawling blender with no sleep when he first came in.

But if anyone asks, he'll just say he's a runaway which is technically true. And he's nice enough.

First I realize that Tien will have little use but it is the language of her father and she would have learned it at a young age it is something I can live with not having much use in the adventure.

the brass knuckles were actually a carryover from a previous version where I had the dockside brawler trait.

Maybe one of the ship's regular swabs got himself thrown in the jail of Noro's town and the Captain of the ship had no intention of delaying his departure for one person. So when they found Noro sleeping with the cargo, they offered her that persons job, at least until the next port.

This seems plausable but I did board in Magnimar. Would kaylee vouch for her (at least she does have a rank in profession sailor) And Noro is no stranger to hard work she has worked the docks (as well as other workers) for some time.


Kaylee's been a sailor for several years and Magnimar is an important port city, so Kaylee's likely to have been there various times in the past. It's likely enough they've run into each other in the past and Kaylee knew her as a hard worker even if she does have a short temper.


Couple quick checks and a few answers as I can.

- could take boarded in the shackles (and get your +1 Fort save) and replace resilient with something that gives you stealth as a class skill
- languages don't see where you get Ignan for free (did I miss this) shouldn't have t listed underknowwn as it comes about only during combat I think
- also 50 extra GP - potion of cure light? shield of faith? other?

I actually like that idea about the language angle she will want to learn Tien before she returns home. also I think as human I start with just common and +1 more for Int. so Noro technically should begin with just common and varisian (her mother's native tongue)

@ Kaylee: That could work hopefully you don't also know of Noro's other dealings in the docks of Magnimar

changed stowaway to Jenivere Crew traits basically the same (both give +1 survival skill) I just loose the +1 stealth which isn't Noro's thing anayway.

Since you asked for some characters to volunteer not to be stowaways I offered two somewhat plausible ideas for Quacraybool to be hired on for the crew temporarily. Did you have a favorite or don't mind keeping Quacraybool as a stowaway?

Confession time. I tend to use Hero lab so it does most of the work for me. I can be lazy like that :)

Yeah, he could have escaped, and then gotten on at the shackles. I'm not sure what trait would grant him stealth, except maybe highlander. I pictured his original home as more classic jungle, but maybe in his escape he hid out in the hills alot.

If you like I can make that change. No problem either way.

As for the Ignan for free, it appears to be part of being an oracle.
From the APG it said:
Tongues: In times of stress or unease, you speak in
tongues. Pick one of the following languages: Abyssal,
Aklo, Aquan, Auran, Celestial, Ignan, Infernal, or
Terran. Whenever you are in combat, you can only speak
and understand the selected language. This does not
interfere with spellcasting, but it does apply to spells
that are language dependent. You gain the selected
language as a bonus language.

Bold for emphasis by me, which is why I thought it was a bonus language even out of combat?

Totally forgot about the extra gold. I guess he was just holding onto it in case he found folks to trade with. Krokod is capable of healing already, but I don't mind using it to buy a CLW. He might just hand it over to a friend who can't heal just in case. Happy to do it if you like.


Ah missed that one simple line. Please keep me on my toes as I have to many games and their rules in my head to remember it all. :) Also for Stealth what about Slippery (Bellflower Network) - Maybe Krokod was found by a Tiller and escorted to The Shackles.

And I got a good look a Fish Bol:
- you don't have bullets bought for the sling - though you have attack and dmg listed as if using them: stones +3[1d3]
- pickpocket's clothes don't count towards weight when worn, should be 45.5lbs
- just a comment: Fish Bol has some nice saves for lvl 1
- under stats you have flat-footed AC listed as 14 should be 15
- ACP (-2) not listed under STR and DEX skills
- wish to have your full atacks listed since it looks like you will be fighting wih two weapons now and again
-- full attack,
sword and shield: +2/+2 [1d6+3(S),18-20/1d4+1(P),20]
- maybe a combat section listing all your weapons and bonus (maybe pick up a club in the wilds for a blunt weapon)

Ok. Made the changes, and I bought the CLW potion. I think I'm ready.


I wasn't sure what to put as her ac or carrying capacity since I wasn't sure what equipment we'd be starting out with. Do we just assume we have everything at start and then adjust accordingly?

Also, do you want a separate listing of what Kaylee will be carrying on her person as she goes about her duties on the ship? Some of her gear will be left in her room since there wouldn't be any need to keep everything with her. For example, she'd leave her crossbow and trident in her room unless they're expecting trouble and just carry about her daggers and mace. If she was expecting to do any work up in the rigging she would bother with wearing her armor that day either.

For my skills, I usually only list which ones I have trained/have ranks in.

I put some information up in the header for you for quick reference.


Quacraybool check in:

Gnome Magic: Gnomes add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against illusion spells that they cast. Gnomes with Charisma scores of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, ghost sound, prestidigitation, and speak with animals. The caster level for these effects is equal to the gnome's level. The DC for these spells is equal to 10 + the spell's level + the gnome's Charisma modifier.

Not just prestidigitation but all those spells.

made the changes. odd though the barbarian chew is 25 gp each in hero lab but 1gp each on the SRD. adjusted equipment and money. alias should be correct also the drink Pulque is listed as 4sp in the ultimate equipment but you stated 10 gp so I went with your required 10 gp per waterskin. BTW that drink is considered Alcoholic.
