About Chán-Yú of Hongal
Chán-Yú is a proud horseman from just south of the Crown of the World. Although he was honored by being named a retainer of his tribe's chieftain, he was inspired by tales told by the various travelers passing through their lands and chose to wander as a knight errant. He first traveled to Gōka, where the people seemed more like his own, but was ostracized by a misunderstanding: he had lost the little finger of his right hand to frostbite, and others tended to associate this with rites of Minkaian organized crime syndicates. Chán-Yú developed a resentment for thieves' guilds, and he eventually moved instead to the Inner Sea region, where he joined the Pathfinder Society to act as a guide for their expeditions and to fight the Aspis Consortium.
Chán-Yú's tribal combat style emphasizes hit-and-run tactics. In his harsh homeland, he trained in fighting large individual creatures. When faced with a particularly deadly foe, he peppers it with arrows while leaving himself open to its attacks in order to draw its attention away from his wards. If the enemy manages to pin him down in mêlée, it finds he suddenly is much better at parrying with his scimitar.
