Lormo Shashud |
Lormo arrived several minutes later with group of other survivors, carrying lot of stuff taken from a ship.
"Thanks, guys! Let's put that here!" He put his load on ground in middle of soon-to-be-build camp.
"Nice job, Ishirou. Thank you, Aerys. Appreciate your help, Jask."He sincerely thanks those, who helped to bring looted stuff to new camp place and looks from where he stands to a shore line.
What time is it now? How long do we have till sunset?
"Since my knowledge is only theoretical one, I will follow your guidance", he said to Kasia, "feel free to direct me in camp building or I will forget something important, like scouting, when I tried to act last time."
Take10 Survival to aid Kasia.
Mosi Night Arrow |
Mosi will attempt to quietly move away.
stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
When she joins the others, Mosi realizes how close the camp is to a very large snake.
"Um guys can I talk to you a minute." she says as she attempts to summon them a little distance from the others.
"There is a very large snake in the tree at the top of the hill. I think we should take care of it without letting the others know. They are far to jumpy as it is." she whispers
Baelir |
Drawing his morningstar Baelir readies himself to face the snake. Whispering back he doesn't know why they were even whispering. If the snake has already seen them then there was no point but he'll play along with Mosi.
"Well then we should probably take care of it quickly before anybody else gets here. Can you shoot it down with that bow? Once it hits the ground let me get in front of it and surround it, I can be pretty dodgy when I need to be."
Salty GM |
The camp is now made with the help from everyone. It is now a couple of hours before the sun sets.
@Cloony "What am I, a craftsman? I'm a Pathfinder, I write stuff and explore ruins. I leave that to someone else.
Are three of you going to the snake tree? Also for future reference, you cannot take 10 for aiding one another. You must roll.
Mosi Night Arrow |
Cloony, Lormo, Albawar could you come over here please?
Mosi patiently waits for everyone, then she whispers
"We should work together to get rid of a giant snake in that tree so it dosent attack us in our sleep."
She begins moving toward the snake hoping the others will follow.
Lormo Shashud |
"Are you sure we all are needed?", whispered Lormo in response, "How big is it? Is it possible to swallow or constict human?"
He checked and armed his crossbow.
"I'll take a look, but I think it might be worth just to frighten it, for it to go away."
Mosi Night Arrow |
Mosi attempts to sneak up to the snake again.
sneak: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
as soon as she sees the snake again
Looking very embarrassed Mosi says
"Well it looked larger last time."
then she attempt to shoot it down.
Short Bow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Baelir |
Baelir attempts to put his shield between himself and the snake as he stumbles over his feet to get into an advantageous position.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 I provoke 1 attack of opportunity
Hopefully still in a fighting position and now flanking with Albawar the half orc fumbles with his morningstar as it thuds into the ground beside the snake.
Morningstar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 101d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Lormo Shashud |
Lormo put his crossbow down, holding in loaded with left hand, and took sap from his waist. Being armed, he moved to take a position near dwarf.
"Hmmm, Mosi this is a great origin you found! It looks like python reticularius, which is one of the biggest constrictors, but this one has a slight yellow pigmentation on her belly and the lines are not intersecting into squares, but more like spots. This form of nose is more characteristic for blunt nose viper, macrovipera lebetina, which is severely venomous." he took a protective stance, expecting a possible attack, "I wish I could study that one a bit more. Might be I can use it's poison for my healing potions, so they are effective for other people. Don't you mind not killing it, but just neutralizing it, my friend Albawar"
Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (16) + 10 + (5) = 31
Salty GM |
AOO vs Baelir: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Lucky for Baelir
So far, only Cloony's spell hit the snake.
The serpent will attack Baelir now that he has it's attention.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Misses, but bares it's fangs nonetheless.
Cloony Verne |
Frost ray: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Crit check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Extra: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Cloony thinks quickly on the snake's looks.
Kn. Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
"This snake is not a pleasant one people, this is a black mamba.
Although quite a creature, its bite can hurt your endurance."
Mosi Night Arrow |
Mosi moves around for a better shot and attempts the hit the snake again.
Short Bow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Lormo Shashud |
Lormo moved to flanking position, preparing his sap for attack.
AoO vs Lormo: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Snake made an attack against him, but he easy dodged that.
Attack vs Snake: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5
In his turn, he made a stupid mistake and sap almost slipped out of his hand. Snake whistled, like laughing about his proficiency with a weapon.
"I probably have more chances to hit it with a book, but I still ask you not to kill it right away, but subdue it for further investigation."
Kasia, I moved your avatar 5ft, because you need to be in melee to Aid Another
Albawar Grizzlemane |
Albawar rears back in surprise as the serpent flies by before automatically drawing his weapon and sending the heavy weight of his dorn-dergar towards the mamba
Move action to draw weapon and same rules as before for Power Attacking
Round 1
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Round 2
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Baelir |
Round 2
Stepping to the side of the snake the half-orc spins his morningstar a few times before taking a swing at the snake.
"Aha, it is a good day for snake. Stay there Albawar perhaps this will finish it off!"
Morningstar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 71d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 You have got to be kidding me. Either way I'll roll for parry if it attacks me.
Parry and Riposte: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 111d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 161d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Lormo Shashud |
"I definitely would not like for him to do that," said Lormo, "it is a great specimen and we could use it for science.."
Albawar Grizzlemane |
Haha, love the pun Kasia. I kind of like the idea of it :P
After having finished of the snake Albawar takes a few seconds to clean his weapon and armour of any gore before turning to Lormo and Cloony
"Sorry bou' that, guess you can 'ave whots left fer your studies" he says with a sheepish grin
Cloony Verne |
Cloony shakes his head.
"Not a vital matter sir Albawar. I myself am interested to see what the thing looks like and some notes, since the academy had mainly hazy pictures and theory. Lormo on the other hand seems more taken aback by it.
Ah well, one can not have it all."
Baelir |
Nothing of note aside from dinner... and scales for a new pair of boots if anybody wants a pair.
Baelir looks questioningly at his morningstar, is Milani upset with him for some reason? Well perhaps putting himself in more danger than he should be would put him in a bad light.
"We should also probably put it in a pot before it starts to attract insects."
Mosi Night Arrow |
Mosi carefully searches around for the arrow that went astray.
1d100 ⇒ 44 I believe I have a 50% chance to retrieve it. I will go for high numbers
Failing for find the arrow she returns to camp.
Lormo Shashud |
Lormo checked snake body to detect is it really dead or just unconscious, being severely damaged by dwarf's hit.
heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
if snake is dying, stabilize it
"As I said, snakes poison is very powerful neiroleptic, so if I could recover some of it, it greatly help us since we are out of healer's kits."
He gently took snake head in his head, trying to pour some poison into small vial from his alchemist kit.
Craft(poison) untrained with improvised tools: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 2 = 20
"Looks like I will practice basket weaving in our camp to keep snakes and other rare species for further investigation."
Kasia |
By Crickey that was a beauty.
She steps up to Baelir, looking up at his eyes. She starts to wag her finger at him.
"We already have a great deal of meat for tonight." Kasia indicates her backpack. "If you think it was so vital to slay this beautiful creature, that you might overfill your plate, then I will consider being your butcher once more today."
Lormo Shashud |
Lormo put his head up from first aid he was doing to snake.
"Hey, hey... Please, do not fight! Kasia, Baelir didn't ment to overfil plates, he is just thinking that we are 11 now and not everyone is capable to prepare food for themselves. And by the way, if I can save her life, I'd like to keep her alive as rare component supplier. "
Lormo is like Gerald Darrel, he's gonna build some cages and keep interesting species in, unless there will be plot twist or team mates make him discard this idea. Probably, his expedition to Sargava was planned to be one like that.
Baelir |
Leaning down to the woman's height, the tall half-orc speaks, calmly. Something not present in a lot of his kin.
"Lormo is correct, there are eleven of us now. While we may have enough food on our persons for one night I was thinking we could take a barrel or crate and turn it into a place to smoke meat and make jerky. Something that will last a while in case we cannot gather the necessary materials for a fresh meal. Would you agree to an idea such as Ms. Kasia? I am more than willing to go hungry if others cannot eat, I'm a big guy. But if we can ease the minds of the others with a sense of security, even if it is something as simple as enough food in case of an emergency, we should help them."
He smiles his tusky grin.
