Thanks VampGM. Although I've been called a mutha on more than one occasion, I am not one in this context. ;p
Also, I just retroactively corrected Saeron's position on the map - I'm still pretty new to SF and hadn't previously come across the situation where a double move could be applied.
I had looked under the section in the CRB on actions, and 'move action' wasn't listed under standard actions (as I'm pretty sure it was for PF) so had only been using one. I have now found the reference to double moving... *insert facepalm*

Brob speaks in a reassuring voice to try to stabilize the pony.
"Hey talking pony can you hear me?
Don't tarry you'll be merry you'll see.
You're the one your friends sent us to find
I can't let you go to the Other Side
Don't go to the Other Side
We're here for you, pull on through!"(Inspiring for 7 stamina... if that works.)
Not only does he not have Stamina points, but that ability only works if they have taken stamina damage within the last round, and he hasn’t taken any damage since round 2. You can choose another action. Also the pony is stable right now . . . he’s not bleeding out at least.

@ GM - I have noticed a general slowdown the last couple days in most of my other games on the boards here. I assume it is a combination of nicer weather, school winding down, kids sporting events, etc.
I think you have done a very good job keeping the pace going.
Joaquín Joyner |
I've noticed that too, didn't think about the causes but those seem like good ones. I personally was slow of late because I've fretting over some silly game ideas I cooked up.
No need to worry about your pace, GM, that's going quite well.
I'm going out shortly for a rare movie (Disney's: Marvel's: The Avengers: Avengers: Infinity Battle), but will pop off a post when I get back.

So, quick question, for curiosity stake, what IS your solar weapon?

Huh, we've gotten a bit in and no close-up fights yet, now that I think about it. My solar weapon is basically a big 'ol pair of boxing gloves. They look like transparent gauntlets made of amber energy.
A bit weird, but I like the idea. It combines his being a pit fighter with something akin to the Ripple. In case it wasn't super clear, Joaquín is a silly JoJo thing.

@VampGm - I think you're doing a top notch job keeping things flowing.
I had noticed a bit of a lull recently but had just assumed the usual weekend quiet period.

You sure you don’t want your solar weapon to be an upper torso that pops up and punches your enemies for you? As long as you have one hand free, it doesn’t really violate the rules (you just need to have a hand free to ‘direct’ it.)
Ora ora ora ora ORA!!!!

Ooh, there's a thought! I'll need to ponder that one.

@ All - I will be traveling out of town starting Wednesday, 5/23, and won't return home until the following Wednesday, 5/30. I hope to still post one a day, but my post times, post rate, and verbosity of my PC will be minimized during that time. I am happy to let the GM or another player bot me during that time.

@ Saeron - Thanks!
I hope that all who are celebrating this weekend enjoy their holiday.

No problem. Have a blast!

So guys, just a heads up, I'll be GMing at PaizoCon this weekend, starting the roadtrip Thursday afternoon. I'll try to post at least once a day but just as an FYI updates may be sparse.
Welcome back! How was PaizoCon?

Overall great! Thanks for asking!
Got to go to a panel about how to freelance write for RPGs, which is something I really want to get into (a LOT). So that kinda gave me a lot of hints and rekindled my desire to do that. Ended up making a new PFS character that I think will be really silly and fun.
Also got some free swag, I sat down at a game of the card game because they needed one more person and ended up winning a tournament I didn't know I signed up for, and $50 in store credit! Plus I ran a few games, ran a pick-up game of Starfinder (1-04, cries from the drift). Got to meet the writer of this scenario (he was over the moon when I told him I was running ponies), and the writer of the Sanctuary of Drowned Delight (1-08). They were both super cool.
Had a bad experience while running the multi-table special due to a couple of things piling together, but other than that, really fun! Still really tired and trying to get back into the rhythm of things, but I'll try to post at least once a day.
Saeron Kasari |
That sounds great! It would have been good to get some of that insider knowledge.
Free stuff is always good. As is a vote of confidence from the scenario writer! Glad to hear you had a good time. :)

I've run... 4-5? multi-table specials, and they're a lot of work to pull off. A lot of fun if things go right, but the work to fun ratio can be off ;)
Glad you had a fun time overall though. I'm looking forward to Gencon, though I'm working a booth most of it :)

Also got a sneak peak at the new armory book for SFS, and let’s just say there is a really fun level 10 magic item. Super stoked about it. Won’t give anything away but. . . Super fun!
Some of my friends are going to GenCon, though I won’t have the money for it. Plus GenCon always seemed like kinda a rip-off to me. Paying for the Con AND the slots? Kinda a dick move, but then again, what do I know? There is a Tiny Convention (10-20 people) called Summerfest that I might go to again this year where I might actually get to play.
As for the special. . . Let’s just say that there were extenuating circumstances, several of them, that piled up to cause problems. I don’t want to be one of ‘those guys’ who vents about IRL stuff on the boards, so I’ll just leave it at that. Didn’t ruin the con for me though.

Sorry, busy day yesterday.
I hope the multiple rolls for different areas are okay - just trying to keep the story moving.

@ GM - This is Keyrock's first scenario and as I've been getting a feel for the character, I agree that he is most certainly not NG. He is, at best, LN, and I will update my character sheet accordingly. Thanks for a fun adventure! Having played this before, I know you added quite a lot of detail and put extra work into this adventure. I really appreciate it. It is obvious that you had fun putting this together and it has been fun to play!
@ All - Thanks for a great game and for putting up with Keyrock. I look forward to sharing a table with each of you in the future.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to overstep my bounds, I just felt Keyrock was much more selfish than a NG character might be. You don’t have to change, it was just a suggestion. Also, normally that would allow you to flavor your day job as suing the ponies, but there is no way the CG church of Desna would sue them over that. Abdar maybe. . .
Anyway, I’m really glad you had fun and got into the spirit of things. I know some people really hate My Little Pony, so I’m glad everyone was willing to go along with it and have fun.
For those interested: the traits of the natives can be chosen (or rolled randomly). Once I saw two of the options were “Loves Music,” and “Quadraped” I knew I had to do ponies. Unfortunately, I knew no one in my group would really appreciate it (I ran teenage mutant ninja turtles for them). So I ran it online. Thanks again with going along with it and just having fun. That’s all I really wanted from this PbP, and it means a lot that you guys not only rolled with it, but got into the spirit of things, either from Brob’s parodying, Keyrock’s puns, Joyner’s disbelief, Mnamae going along with the singing, and so much more. Really, this was everything I hoped for.
Keyrock Marbleheart |
Sorry, I didn’t mean to overstep my bounds,
@ GM - No overstepping was done; bounds are sufficiently, um, bounded. As the scenario was progressing, I was already thinking that "good" was not the best alignment for this character and lawful certainly makes sense. Thanks again for the fun.
I am working on an Alien Archive boon that I would like to apply this game towards, so I will be sending you a link for your initials once I can find it.
Vampire GM By Day |
Also, it occurs to me I forgot to ask for people’s SFS numbers (including your -7XX number). If you could add them to the signup sheet, that’d be great. As a reminder the signup link can be found in the first post of the recruitment thread.
I can’t give you your sheets until I get those numbers, so, try to get them to me asap
Mnamae-6 |
Have updated Mnamae-6's SFS number. Also, rolling dayjob:
profession(doctor), toolkit, prof clothing: 1d20 + 8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 4 + 1 = 26
Joaquín Joyner |
Is that option for a Day Job check open to everyone?
Also, I put down my number, but could you hold off on entering it for me? I just saw that a F2F game of this I played a few weeks ago was wrongly put on this character number. I'm gonna ask the GM to change that before this one registers and the site gives me the "Player has already played this scenario" spiel.

JoJo- you need to have a profession skill to make a day job check. And even if you did, I doubt any ponies would wish to engage in profession-gladiator with you.
Keyrock Marbleheart |
Profession (lawyer) with tool kit: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 4 = 16
Keyrock finds someone to sue.
Joaquín Joyner |
Thought as much! I was just unsure because Profession (singer) didn't seem like Mnamae's usual, but then I saw it was for flavor.
Saeron Kasari |
Been a hectic past week.
Thanks for the fun game. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Updates SFS number on sheet.
Will make another RP post shortly - just need to head out now. Will mostly be her posting and blogging the stuff they found.
Profession (video personality), w/kit: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 4 = 23

JoJo- did you get your wrong credit issue issue fixed?
Joaquín Joyner |
Doesn't look like that'll be fixed until at least Saturday, so I'd say go ahead and report. It's not a huge deal and I don't want to hold up everyone else's credit.
Vampire GM By Day |
Chronicle sheets are up in on my google drive.
Blasto, you didn't give me a day job check so I just left it blank . . . I trust you to fill it in yourself.
Vampire GM By Day |
Oh! Sorry... Here:
Profession(Vidgamer): 1d20+12 = 50 credits.
I got a chuckle out of that chronicle sheet, by the way ;-)
I thought you might enjoy that. Consider it repayment for all the chuclkes you gave me looking through your Starfinder chraracters-though I really do think Rimmer should be a mechanic with like, 7 charisma (remember, he did fix chicken soup machines!)
Saeron Kasari |
Thanks for the chronicle sheet. Much appreciated.
And thanks again for a fun mission. Thanks to my fellow players too. Hope to catch you all again some time!
Vampire GM By Day |
Just one last time, thank you all. And because I had so much fun, I might be willing to run ponies again in the future if you have any friends that you know would be interested. I know Keyrock mentioned his daughter is playing Starfinder and is a MLP fan.
Anyway, if enough interest generates I’d be happy to run it again. Just message me and I’ll see what we can put together.
It WOULD lack the surprise of this time when I sprang it on you, though. :p
