You forgot me Ringtail.

You could just run two groups. :P
Also, any word on the Pathfinder Chronicle?

I most certainly did not.
*Shifty eyes...*

I just may. Twice the fun with hardly any extra preparation.

And...

Yes, that will be fine.

Dreadan Darlok:
My name is Dreadan Darlok. Among the orcs of Belkzen I was named Garka Bullslayer. I was born in the slave pens of Blisterwell. I was born for war. I will not speak of my life in the pits. Just know that I survived.
I lived when others did not, and for this I was taken from the pits and trained to be a warrior. I learned and waited. Waited for my chance to escape. I never gave in to the savagery that I was born into, only because of love.
I knew my mother, even loved her for the little time I had been blessed with her presence. She is the one that gave me my real name; she named me as hers. Her name was Kaliya Darlok and she died so that I could live. I never forgot what she taught me. “I am more than this.” That became my mantra, whispered over and over at night in my cell. It kept me sane.
I finally escaped and fled to the human lands of my mother, but not many humans like half orcs I realize. Fortunately I meet a farmer named Cooper, who gave me a job. He said he was sorry that he only place I could sleep was the barn. I thought it was a palace. Cooper showed me how to take care of animals of all types. This went against my years of training, my treatment, and it healed me some how. My spirit had never been broken in Belkzen, but it had been damaged.

Concept:
Half-orc Sword and board fighter. Traits are:

Shield Bearer: You have survived many battles thanks to your skill with your shield. When performing a shield bash, you deal 1 additional point of damage. Also, once per day on your turn as a free action, you may provide one adjacent ally a +2 trait bonus to his Armor Class. This bonus lasts for 1 round, so long as you and the target remain adjacent to one another. You can only use this ability if you are using a shield. You retain your shield bonus to your armor class when using this ability.

Bred for War: You tower above most other humans and possess a physique of hard, corded muscle. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Intimidate checks and a +1 trait bonus on your CMB because of your great size. You must be at least 6 feet tall.

Wanderer of the Harenshire: You are used to the dangers of the wilderness and have even befriended one of the local rangers. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Fortitude saves, a +1 trait bonus on Survival checks and Survival is treated as a class skill for you. In addition depending on the NPC you have befriended you gain one of the following bonuses:
(Cooper the Farmer) - You gain a +1 trait bonus on Handle Animal and Handle Animal is treated as a class skill for you.

I would so love to get to play this campaign as opposed to running it.
GM'd it once all the way through, twice to book 3, and probably another half-dozen times that died out before the finale.
It is my favorite campaign from before the era of Paizo, and still ranks up there with theirs. I'm always GM with my group, and almost never to live across the screen.

I would be interested in playing either a rogue or bard (archeologist), probably human or elf. I'm usually pretty good about seperating player and character knowledge. I'll get a character lined out and posted up here for your perusal before long.

If you think having someone with this much experience with the cammpaign would be problematic though, I completely understand. Though I will constantly be lurking around in your game threads, vicariously living through your chosen party. :)

I've run games for people who've played in or read the base material before. I find most are actually pretty good at seperating character and player knowledge, so I don't think it should be a problem. And just like I tell players for any prebuilt adventure that I run: I see the adventure as written as a good skeleton, but the meat on the bones must be added by the DM. Many things are subject to being changed, added, or removed.

You should see the kick I give to The Skinsaw Murders.

Feel welcome to send a character up for consideration.

See now I am worried for the RotRL game now. I will go be off and make Ansruath's cousin or uncle just in case. On other note yeah Ringtail a cool DM. Lots of fun stuff just for note loose women may find half-elves attractive.

A voice is heard just as Bogorin is about to either give up on the free drink, or tell his tale, anyway.

I've got a proposal for you, Master Dwarf. I'll buy you an ale if you don't tell us the story.

A very standard-looking light-haired elf plops down next to Borgorin, adjusting his cloak and sword so as to sit comfortably. After all, you can't talk and drink at the same time.

He motions to the waitron. An ale for this bearded fellow, when you have a moment! I'll have one, too, come to think of it.

Seltyn Sevenleaf, he says, extending his hand to the dwarf. Always a pleasure to meet new folk. And what is your name, good dwarf, if you don't mind my asking?

"Great, now I'm starting to wish we'd brought Darst!" Naomi says as she listens to the group. "I may not like the little guy, but I'll be damned if he wouldn't fit in with this crowd!"

"Name's Naomi Fairchild. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"I'm Iriesys Gladomain. A pleasure for me as well."

Naomi:
You think you see Iriesys wink, but you aren't quite sure.

Naomi looks at Iriesys for a moment before she speaks.

"If you don't mind my asking, Miss Gladomain, what is it you do for a living? You certainly seem interesting."

Anyone else getting the "You are in a tavern when..." vibe?

Is this going to be on Golarion, or at least PF deities and such, or a homebrew world, generic setting, or something else?

Edit: And is the Archeologist bard archetype from Ultimate Combat acceptable? Essentially loses bardic performances for rogue talents and Disable Device and some abilities tied to using that skill for
traps and locks. Also gets a luck boost to his attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, and skill checks for a few rounds a day, to him/herself only.

Iriesys puts her hands behind her head in an easygoing manner, shifting most of her weight onto her right leg.
,
"Well, I've been travelling most of my life. I heard that this area had an abundance of colorful history, so I couldn't wait to stop by. I don't really have a "job" per se, but I go around and do what my heart tells me. I live in the moment, ya know?"

Definitely getting that kind of feeling. Definitely an interesting bar, eh?

"Jeez Naomi, I wanted him to tag along, but heck the guy was a hero in Sandpoint! Can't say I blame him for sticking around."

He takes Iriesys's hand and plants a kiss on the young lady's palm.

"Charmed, milady."

Good thing Izzy doesn't have a pseudodragon familiar, he he.

Nathan Nasif wrote:

I'm altering the setting to take place in Golarion. The Harenshire will be placed in Varisia Along the stretch of river South of Ravenmoor and North of Wartle (with just a wee bit of terrian altering for the story elements to fit properly).

Liberty's Edge

Frowning softly, Aerodus sits back in his chair, taking a deep sip of beer. "I must say it is quite a motley group we have put together here. Perhaps this is the best way yes?" Smiling, he sits forward, offering the Elf who had just joined them, his hand.

"Aerodus Aluain at your service!"

Heh. This looks to be an interesting set of characters already.

Ringtail - before I put together a full app, just wanted to run an archetype past you for your review and ok.

Crypt Breaker (Alchemist archetype from Inner Sea Magic):
Major tradeoffs are as follows:
Mutagen is altered to give +4 Perception and a choice of Darkvision, Scent or Low-Light vision. Penalty is Light Blindness
Brew Potion is swapped for Trapfinding
Bombs deal acid damage as standard (rather than fire), and deal d8 damage vs undead / constructs and d4 damage against everything else.
They also get access to the trap related rogue talents as discoveries.

Essentially what the archetype does is give trapfinding to the Alchemist and makes them more effective in the dark and vs undead / constructs.

Oh it a party now Sweetman here. Hey Mark.

Crypt breaker looks to be fine.

Hey Mark. Interesting stuff going on in your undead campaign. It's definitely a lot of fun, but I'm not sure how we're going to get into Qadira without being noticed by somebody. Anyway, welcome to this hodge-podge tavern. :P

The elf happily responds to Aerodus's gesture.

Seltyn Sevenleaf, my friend. I haven't seen it so busy in here in some time, I have to say. When did this place become a tavern? Was it always thus, or have I had too much already?

There's a great deal of rumor about something big about to happen; fortunes and reputations to be made from some subterranean events not so far away. Perhaps these legends are what draws so many to this place. It's like a huge gallery of fine folk gathered at once.

Now, how about this dwarf? Did he pass out?

Cool, I'll work on statting him up and should have him up later for your once over. I'll make sure anything not Core / APG is clearly marked.

Waves at Mrdarknlight and Edgar :)

"The halfling and the hag is it? I think I've heard that one once or twice..." She says while pulling a flask from her belt. "I forget all the middle bits, but wasn't the punchline the fact that the hag was one of those Five Kingdom fellas?" Taking a swig of dwarven whiskey she offers to share with Bogorin, ifn' he'll drink with a halfling.

Heading home for the night, I'll try and get Ridley here up and finished tomorrow. Looks to be a fun game with a lot of good roleplaying. Even if I don't make the cut I think I'll be lurking in the back, watching the action.

No matter who's chosen, this is going to be a helluva party.

I couldn't agree more.

I'm just kind of wading through all of the character sheets...Naomi Fairchild - it looks as though there is a slight error on your character sheet. Your AC is listed as 16 with studded leather, but you've no DEX modifer.

"Well, Naomi, now that you know what I do, would you mind if I ask what it is that you do?"

Ringtail wrote:

Yeah, sorry about that. She's not quite done yet.

Naomi looks at Izbahn before she answers the question.
"I... work in my family. We've got something like an orphanage in Magnimar. See, we take in little kids who either have no where to go or have run away, and then we teach them a trade." She unconsciously fingers a bracelet on her left wrist. "Sometimes... sometimes it doesn't end well, but we do our best. Right now I'm just going around with Izbahn looking for a nice city were we can expand too."

Kozaric's half orc fighter.

Dreadan Darlok wrote:

I think Dreadan's statistics are a bit off. I count 10 for the 16 to 18 STR, 3 from 13 DEX, and 5 from 14 CON. With mental stats at 10's that is an 18 PB. Otherwise nothing is popping out at me as out of place.

Naomi Fairchild wrote:

No problem, it looked like she might still be in translation.

Izbahn notices the gesture and his face clouds in rememberance of the terrible day not so long ago.

"Yes, we are trying to help as many people as we can....sometimes we don't always succeed though."

Iriesys Gladomain wrote:

"I have been called worse, Iriesys."

"Folks call me Beestinger in reference to my chosen fighting style."

I think I'm done.

"Do you float like a butterfly, Beestinger?" Naomi asks.

Sorry, couldn't resist! XD

"Not quite, but my slingstones sure hurt like one."

Liberty's Edge

Addressing the Elf with a polite nod and a smile, Aerodus puzzles over the Dwarf for a moment before grinning. "Either that or the Lady of Graves has called him home..."

"Your slingstones hurt... Like a Butterfly?" A puzzled expression crossing his face, Aerodus sits forward, taking another sip of ale.

"My apologies, I am sometimes unclear in my thought processes. I was referring to my name, and comparing my sling stones to a bee stinger."

Beestinger wrote:

Izbahn smiles, "Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't stingers supposed to have a point?"

Liberty's Edge

"Ah... No no dear fellow, the mistake was all mine. Yes, I see what you mean now. A fine comparisson. I look forward to seeing your sling in action some day!"

If a monster bursts in on us now, due to my prompting a battle, I may just cry! :P Hahaha

"Who says my slingstones don't? I have mastered the art of multiple forms for my ammo to take."

Bogorian squints up at the elf, wondering if the pointy eared rake was trying to insult him. He wouldn't put it past one of the tree huggers, always running around so high and mighty on themselves. After a moment though his pickled grey matter suddenly realized that the punter was still offering a drink. Smiling a yellow grin through his significantly less than clean beard Bogorin guffaws and hollers out "Ha! Well said then Elf! I'll drink wit ye a'right!" Extending his meaty hand the old dwarf continues "Setlyn Sevenleaf ye says eh? Well, that be en Elvish name if'n I ever 'eard one. At least ye ain't drinkn' none o' that fruity swill yer kind normally seems tae prefer. Cheers then fren'! Ye have me thanks fer tha ale!"

Just as he takes his first drink he splutters and sprays his mouthful over those across from him "What! Ye...ye...ye blasted half pint! Ain't ye never learned tae never ruin a man's story afore he gits tae tell it! Why I've 'alf a mind tae...!" it is at this exact moment that the inebriated rummy realizes that Ridley is holding out a flask to him. This, of course, is a fact which changes everything. Without missing a beat he continues "That be good Dwarven Whiskey I smell? 'Ere, give it!" rudely grabbing the flask Borgorin takes a deep, long swing, tipping his head right back. As he returns, his satisfaction is obvious, as is the drunken gleam in his eye. Forgetting to hand the flask back he grins widely saying "Well! I'll be an Orc's 'airy 'arse! This be good, girl! Silverleaf! Where's yer manners! Offer tha lady a seat!"

Plopping back down hard himself, flask still in hand, the Dwarf seems truly happy, as his night promises to turn out to be one of the best he's had in some time.

Lastly, just remembering that he had forgot, he pipes up once more "Oh, right, I be Borgorin. Bogorin Rockstomper! Likely ye've 'eard o' me?" his voice and eyebrow rising hopefully at the end.

Wow! Gotta say I'm LOVING the posting frequency of this group! Could it possibly be I've finally met a group of players whose urge to post matches my own?? ; )

On second thoughts I'm going to pull back from this.

Looks like Ringtail will have a fun bunch to wander with regardless and wish you well.

You are correct, I had changed his HP and Fort Mod for a 12 but forgot to change the actual stat.

Bogorin Rockstomper wrote:

Can't say I have, but you're rapidly gaining an unmatched reputation, to be sure, Seltyn says, with a wink to the others.

Quote:

Part of it is that this is a very famous old adventure (which I've only heard of, but never played), and part of it is that Ringtail's running it. There's a good chance it will rock.

Yeah Ringtail will match your posts if you let him. He is a cool DM.

Truth be told, I've never heard of this. I only started gaming in 2009, so I don't know much about 2nd edition. It looks like a lot of fun, regardless. Whoever gets in is very lucky.

@Mark, That's too bad. Well, seeya back in your thread.

@Naomi and Izbahn, "Well, your hearts are definitely in the right place, and at the end of the day, that's what really matters."

@Bogorin, "Aye, lad. I've heard of ye. *hic* Ye're the rough one from up north, eh?" in the best Dwarven accent a female elf can muster.

Tessarayth, a forlorn elven Archeologist (Bard Archetype)
Or if you don't like the archetype, I can just make her a rogue, and still get prettymuch the same character, though I may have to change a minor detail or two in her backstory. No biggie either way.

An elven woman with a large scroll case tucked under one arm enters and looks around for a seat. She is wearing a well-traveled cloak over some studded leather armor, and has a short bow unstrung and tucked into the quiver with the arrows. A small, thin blade rides her hip.
Her white hair is kept cut around chin level, and her solid green eyes look about the room, sweeping past the people, and lingering on the structure itself, particularly any engravings or odd architectural designs.

After a moment she kind of starts, and looks to the people who are staring at her. Smiling shyly: Oh, sorry! Didn't really notice you there at first.I'm Tess. She waves to the folks seated, and awkardly turns around and has a seat by herself, and starts pulling pages from her scroll case and looking at them studiously, seemingly once again unaware of the people around her.

Bogorin, two fisted now, with his ale in one hand and the flask in the other, squints hard at the elf. The place was right infested with them tonight! Taking a swing of whiskey and washing it back with a gulp of ale, several new stains join the plethora already fighting for space on his rusted mail shirt. "Lad?" he burps. "Lass, I was old 'afore ye was ee'n a twinkle n' yer elven papi's eye. I 'eared ye tryin' tae teach some manners tae me good 'alflin' frend Ritley 'ere, but I ain't no 'alfling. A wee slip o' girl such as yerself best be watcin' yer manners' when talkin' tae yer elders. I knows yer tryin' tae mock me n' I don't much care fer it."

Taking another double swing he continues, his gaze steely and steady. "Now 'iffn ye'd like tae sit 'n join us, yer welome to. N' I'll be kind enou' tae accept a mug or two as yer apology."

Then, turning to Seltyn he continues in a similiar tone. "As fer you Silverleaf, I be willin' tae grant ye some leaway as fer how we's drinkn' fren's n' all now, but don' ye be thinkin' tha' jus because I be n' me cups I don't be known' wat's goin' on. More than one brave fool made tha same mistake n' n'er lived tae tell o' it."

Although he doesn't seem truly angry, anyone who knows dwarfs, especially those deep in their drink, will be very aware that they may have entered into precarious territory. They may also notice that this old dwarf is not all quite the drunken sot he at first appears to be. Although he does appear to completely miss the arrival of the newcomer.

@Seltyn: Sweet! Can't say I've heard of this module either, even though D&D and I go Waaay back (did have a multi-decade hiatus from it though). I am so looking forward to playing it though if Bogorin and I manage to get in.

@Mrdarknlight:Cool man, thanks for the headsup. Not many things a player like myself can love more than a frequent posting, and good, GM

Liberty's Edge

"Well... This is a very colorful group we have here, isn't it?" Grinning, Aerodus empties the mug, before setting it down on the table.

"Master Dwarf, what is it that has brought you here, may I ask?"
