Is that what you really want to do?

Hey all, I want to apologize. I am at a conference for work and thought I would have more time to do postings but they basically have things booked from sun up to sun down. I’m not going to be able to post until tomorrow night. But after that we can continue rolling.

I am so sorry for this.

Thanks for the heads up

Now you go and enjoy that conference for work?

If you don't mind me asking are you bivocational?

Elf Cleric of Desna 4 ~ AC 19 (t 13, ff 16) | F +3, R +4, W +6 (+2 vs. enchants) | Init +3 | Percep: 7 |BoL: 3/5 | channel: 1/4 | HP: 24/24

No worries, man. Real life comes first.

Is that what you really want to do?

I am a ministry leader and worship leader for a church. I am also the assistant conference director for youth conferences.

I love that our lowest hp member keeps acting as our front-liner.

...actually, Scarlet could Acrobatics through the wolf's square. If he succeeds, he avoids the AoO and then Brunner can whack it.

Correct. One of the most underrated and underused skill in my real life playgroup.

I have rogues and slayers that take advantage of acrobatics, somehow I don't think that Brunner is built for it :-)

so a stupid question, if it was an ogre zombie, did it still classify as a giant? would Brunner have gotten his + 4 dodge from 'defensive training'?

Is that what you really want to do?

In the module it is classified as a “NE Large undead” because of this I made a judgement call that it wasn’t.... It is the same with the wolves you faced in the room before, they are classified as undead and not animals.... From outside the mausoleum those wolves are classified as animals...

Now this is a D&D 3/3.5 book, is it different in pathfinder?

Elf Cleric of Desna 4 ~ AC 19 (t 13, ff 16) | F +3, R +4, W +6 (+2 vs. enchants) | Init +3 | Percep: 7 |BoL: 3/5 | channel: 1/4 | HP: 24/24

This may be a unique monster made for this module, in which case I can't say. But if most people were to build this monster from scratch in Pathfinder, I would start with a regular ogre (which has the giant sub-type), and then apply the zombie monster template. According to the rules of this template, it keeps any pre-existing types and sub-types in addition to its new zombie template.

The dwarven ability gives the AC boost to any creature with a giant subtype, so it would still apply to zombie giant-kin.

Is that what you really want to do?

I did some looking and even though it keeps the type/subtype the prebuilt examples have them listed as undead. Because of this Brunner would have had that +4 to his AC and would not have taken that hit for 16 HP.

@Brunner you can go ahead and add those HP back.

ok

I'm posting this in the games I play in

I wanted to explain my drop in posting rate.

Previously the majority of my posts happened while I was at work. I worked third shift at a treatment facility. I used the boards as a tool to help keep myself awake. I have recently left that job and am now looking for employment.

I'm trying to balance RL responsibilities with the games I'm in, but I no longer have eight hours that I'm sitting at the computer looking for something to do. Between the stress of RL and attempting to find a balance in schedule the quantity and quality of my posting rate has suffered.

I'm planning on staying in the games I'm presently in and I appreciate everyone's patience while I figure out how to make it work.

Is that what you really want to do?

Real life takes priority. I wish you luck in the job hunt.

If at anytime you need to take a pause from the game to get everything squared away at home don’t hesitate to let me know, I would run Brunner the best I can during that time.

I appreciate you letting us know.

Elf Cleric of Desna 4 ~ AC 19 (t 13, ff 16) | F +3, R +4, W +6 (+2 vs. enchants) | Init +3 | Percep: 7 |BoL: 3/5 | channel: 1/4 | HP: 24/24

Good luck, Brunner.

I was also recently unemployed and just started a new job. Well done on prioritizing what's important.

I'm not quite sure how well I'm doing 'prioritizing.' It's 9:30 Monday morning and I'm sitting here at my computer, instead of on my way to 'the unemployment office' :-(

Good luck in finding a new job. But I also understand how easy it is to drag your feet to do something. Procrastination is dangerous.

I think we should try to buy a fully charged Wand of Cure Light Wounds next time we visit the town. We have the coin for it.

I agree, there are only so many potions of healing we can force down Scarlet's limp dying body before he forms a tolerance to them ;o)

GM RelicBlackOUT quick question on the timing of the attack, did it happen immediately or would Brunner have had time to put his armor back on. He would have taken it off to climb the ladder.

Male CG Human Rogue 4 | HP: 25/26 | AC: 17 (13T, 14F) *+1 vs Traps | CMB +5 CMD 18/15F | Fort +2 Ref +7* Will +3 (Evasion, +1 vs Traps)| Initiative: +2 | Perception +8 (+1 vs Traps) | Speed 30' | Disrupt Undead 3/3 | Shield (2/2) | Active Conditions: -1 Wis

If we survive this, since we are back on the surface. I suggest we head back to town, maybe get the priestess at the church to heal us. Then see if they have a wand of CLW for sale. Then rest a night to get back our daily stuff before heading back here and going back down the ladder.

Is that what you really want to do?

@Brunner if Brunner had started putting on his armor once he got to the top off the ladder then he would have it on now. Had he waited long he might not have it on at this time...

I like the dwarven half-plate, but the full plate would be much more practical, doesn't he have to have it resized though to fit a dwarf?

Brunner Hammerfell wrote:

I think the resizing is just hand waved so long as it's the same size. (Small to Small, Medium to Medium, etc.). That's how I've always seen it done, but I wasn't able to find anything specific in a quick search.

Male CG Human Rogue 4 | HP: 25/26 | AC: 17 (13T, 14F) *+1 vs Traps | CMB +5 CMD 18/15F | Fort +2 Ref +7* Will +3 (Evasion, +1 vs Traps)| Initiative: +2 | Perception +8 (+1 vs Traps) | Speed 30' | Disrupt Undead 3/3 | Shield (2/2) | Active Conditions: -1 Wis

I think that has always been considered a house rule. It really depends on how much the GM wants to be 'realistic'.

It has to be re-sized to fit anybody

Full-Plate

Nice find.

Is that what you really want to do?

Wow, I didn’t know it cost to resize... 2d4x100.... ok....

Dwarf Evoker 4 | HP:35/35 | AC:16 FF:14 T:12 (mage armor) | CMD:14 (+4 trip/rush) | +3 +5 +5 (+dwarf)| Init:+2 Per:+7 | Force Missile 4/6

you pay for those incremental points of AC

Male CG Human Rogue 4 | HP: 25/26 | AC: 17 (13T, 14F) *+1 vs Traps | CMB +5 CMD 18/15F | Fort +2 Ref +7* Will +3 (Evasion, +1 vs Traps)| Initiative: +2 | Perception +8 (+1 vs Traps) | Speed 30' | Disrupt Undead 3/3 | Shield (2/2) | Active Conditions: -1 Wis

Knowing our luck, spend the money to get the MW Full Plate to fit you and then get a +1 Full Plate a few fights later.

Do you want me to go ahead and place an order? If we find more plate, we can sell the MW and recoup some of the losses. But with +3 over the half-plate is doesn't make sense not to upgrade.

Male CG Human Rogue 4 | HP: 25/26 | AC: 17 (13T, 14F) *+1 vs Traps | CMB +5 CMD 18/15F | Fort +2 Ref +7* Will +3 (Evasion, +1 vs Traps)| Initiative: +2 | Perception +8 (+1 vs Traps) | Speed 30' | Disrupt Undead 3/3 | Shield (2/2) | Active Conditions: -1 Wis

Go ahead and upgrade.

yeah, you can't take it with you.

but place the order and pick it up after we find the necromancer

Barnabus Black wrote:

That's what I figured, hopefully the smith can use the armor as collateral, so we won't be out anything up front.

edit: I miss counted it's only going to give him +2, let's see what the cost would come up to, the more I think about it the more I think Brunner would want the ancient dwarven half plate... Let's get a bid from the blacksmith then think about it.

Brunner, do what your heart tells you, but keep in mind that the lower the AC, the more likely your heart will get stabbed.

the good news, if Brunner sells/trades his banded mail and MW half plate it will be worth the 500 gp. the plate is costing to resize.

Hey GM, everything all right?

Is that what you really want to do?

Hey guys. Sorry about the delay. I started a new position at my job and school at the same time. Getting the kinks worked out. If you are able to be extend grace we will get back to normal. This is just a minor speed bump.

I have actually dropped all the games I play in on PBP and the other games here. Keeping only this one.

Oh man, good luck. Having started a new job myself recently, I understand.

Happy to stay on pause a bit longer.

Is that what you really want to do?

My plan is only just a slowed down pace compared to a pause. And only for a brief time.

Yes good luck with the new position, Sad to hear about needing to play less. Thanks for sticking with us.

No good Sir, thank YOU for sticking with me!

Glad to see I didn't miss anything. I was trimming a honeysuckle bush near my house and accidently cut my cable... didn't have internet for twenty four hours...

So when Brunner finishes up with the blacksmith we will head back to the statue and the hole we took the ladder from.

hehe... I imagine there was a lot of swearing that would make a dwarf blush when you accidentally cut your cable cord.

Is that on the way out? Lanliss kind of understands that Dalron has a different moral outlook, and he remembers that Dalron isn't fond of goblinoids, so he's going to insist on coming with.
