Looking around you see that other tables have food trays on their table and everyone is eating and drinking their fill. Moments pass and two more of the white linen cloaked figures approach with two trays that are filled with food. On the trays you see a few bluish colored loafs of bread, several large portions of mushrooms, cheese, and bowls of stew with hardy chunks of meat within the bowls.
Once everything is set down, all of the servers leave except the one who originally seated you holding out its hand and taps a coin on the table with the other hand. It is easy to understand that it is expecting payment.
You realize that it isn’t talking, and possibly because it cannot. Once the other two arrive with trays of food you begin to think that it is possible that they can communicate using other means.
Just wanted to check and make sure you saw the spoiler post for you above.

Still being a little uncomfortable in a room full of creatures that have plagued the surface for a lifetime. "How do we know that this food is safe to eat? If I wanted to kill off a group, poison could be an option."
"This place is on the unnatural side. If we were on the surface I would be putting arrows into them, not sitting down for a meal with them."

"Anyone know what this thing wants?"
Lanliss Endarro
”Not eating could kill you, too,” Lanliss says lightly as he precariously picks up a piece of cheese, a small hunk of blue bread, and two mushrooms and places them in front of him. He takes a sip of the ale and makes a face before putting his mug back down.

"These undead would normally attack without provocation but something is keeping them peaceful while in the Inn. That would probably change if we become hostile though."
Scarlet starts pulling out gold coins and handing them to the figure holding it's hand out until it seems to be satisfied with the amount.

You don’t get the idea that there is any compulsion at work here. Just something that is speaking to you. You get the feeling that it is close enough to you that it could be on your back.

"I think it's the guy on the stone throne over there that keeps everyone in line.
Barnabus what other creatures could look like him on the stone chair, that controls undead? Lanliss would you know?"
Dalron tentatively tries some of the food.
"I hope the food doesn't cause the plague thing."
Barnabus Black
Barnabus looks over at the creature on the throne surreptitiously and tries to determine what it might be.
He pulls over a loaf of dark bread made from mushroom flour and pulls off a hunk to chew on.

Bozvrig takes a handful of mushrooms and gives them to Truffels, who devours them sloppily. Just like his companion, Bozvrig tears a hunk of bread from the loaf and uses it to dig into his stew, with not an ounce of decorum or manners.
When his portion is complete, he lets out a satisfied belch, then washes it down with the underdark brew.

Scarlet hands the while linen cloaked figure a few gold pieces, it reaches in its pouch to give scarlet change. Looking at the change, for the six of you to eat and drink it comes to roughly 3 gold pieces.
The meal might looks and seem unusual, but you actually find it rather delicious. K-local to find out more if you’d like
It is hard to determine much about the figure that is wearing a very unique robe covered with eyes. You can tell by its presence and how it surveys the room that he controls the room. He is clearly undead from what is exposed of its arms, but his face is cloaked in darkness within the robe.
If you had to guess, this is a man of information.
Scarlet Blood
Scarlet starts to eat and drink. In between bites, he speaks. "I suggest we rent the room for the night and start are search in the morning. So we can be fully prepared in case something troublesome happens."
Barnabus Black
In a low voice Barnabus tells the others.
"The bloke on the throne is clearly undead, I can tell that from here. The robe covered in eyes is a clue that he probably sees everything this place and collects in information. I think we've found this Sar-Es that the gray dwarf told us about."
knowledge(local) for food: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
I have no luck with the knowledge local rolls in this place. Too many years studying wizardry with humans and elves on the surface.
Bozvrig Wur
Bozvrig releases another belch then sits back comfortably in his chair, his threatening posture melts away now that he's eaten. He picks at his teeth with a small bone he pulls from his matted hair, "Aye, perhaps we should talk ta dat fella 'for we retire fer de night."

"If you don't mind having someone else besides me talking to him or her, it, what ever. This place is just soooo unnatural."
Dalron still taking only small bites of the food, picking only things that he can identify. All the while keeping a look out for trouble.
Del Boozer
Del moves the food around on his plate a bit, pretending to eat, until he sees that it seems to have no ill effect, then eats with supreme gusto, belching as he goes.

When Scarlet mentions rooms for the night the white linen cloaked figure pulls out a silver coin and holds its hand out displaying all five fingers. It is simple to understand that it is saying the rooms are 5 silver a night.
Lanliss approaches the figure by himself:
The figure’s face is lost in the voluminous folds of its bizarre robe. An odor like thyme mixed with dirt intensifies as the figure raises an arm in greeting and speaks in a raspy voice. “Travelers from the sun-poisoned skin of the world, welcome. I am Es Sarch. I deal in information. Thus I know many truths, but not the one that brings you to this fallen city. Lanliss Endarro, what is it that brings you where?”
Scarlet Blood
Scarlet draws out the coins needed and hands them to the cloaked figure for one night for the group.
Lanliss Endarro
"Well, actually...
"You call the sun 'poison,' but it's an essential component for life on the skin of the world, and I'm pretty sure it's effects are indirectly felt even down here! I met a druid once who explained this whole 'life cycle,'" Lanliss uses finger quotes at this point.
"Anyway, we're looking for a man named Xeron. We've followed him to Pedestal from up above."
