very nice map Lanliss...
I need to work on Brunners 'Paladin code' a little, I don't really have one posted, so I'm making it up as I go: of course no backstabbing, lying, cheating, killing surendered foes, harming the innocent or non-combatants.
In game I infered that we should loot the bodies. Brunner sees taking enemy gear as depriving the enemy of resources, and the method Torag (and other good gods) transitions the wealth of evil to those who will do good with it. I hope that fits within a 'paladin' code.
If we were looting the bodies of allies, he would grumble :-)
Any opinions on a 'paladin code'?

Paladins of Torag are dedicated to protecting not just the lives but the way of life for those under their charge, and hold the ways of their chosen people as holy, especially when they are the centuries-old works and traditions of an entire race. Their tenets include the following affirmations.
- My word is my bond. When I give my word formally, I defend my oath to my death. Traps lie in idle banter or thoughtless talk, and so I watch my tongue.
- I am at all times truthful, honorable, and forthright, but my allegiance is to my people. I will do what is necessary to serve them, including misleading others if need be.
- I respect the forge, and never sully it with half-hearted work. My creations reflect the depth of my faith, and I will not allow flaws save in direst need.
- Against my people’s enemies, I will show no mercy. I will not allow their surrender, except when strategy warrants. I will defeat them, yet even in the direst struggle, I will act in a way that brings honor to Torag.
This was taken straight from a site for Torag

That's awesome, I had been pulling all my information from Here, I will mentally adjust a few things appropriately :-)

Agreed. Nice map Lanliss. Sorta reminds me of the old days. The GM would describe the room/hallway and one of the players would use graph paper to draw the map. It wasn't always accurate but was fun.

yeah, I remember graph paper and pencils, We thought we were smart using chess pieces to set order and such.

My favorite was when the GM would get impatient with the players' inaccurate map, and then just take it and draw the map for us.
One time, I had a GM who got really impatient and just gave us the map he had prepared. As we were looking it over, one player said, "We should go through this secret door right here," pointing to one spot on the map as the GM groaned in annoyance.

Paladins are one of my favorite classes. In my homebrew world every deity has Paladins and they don’t need to be LG as the CRB says. They have to be the same alignment as the deity. I adjust their abilities accordingly. Smite Good/Neutral/Evil, Aura of Good/Neutral/Evil, Detect Good/Neutral/Evil,etc...

Hey, I didn't find anything about this on the Archives of Nethys site, but I've always played that a character that prays for spells needs to pick an hour of the day that makes sense for their religion to pray for those spells. I don't know if this is just the tradition that me and my groups have picked up or if this is how everyone does it.
Assuming that *this* group wants to do that, I'm going to put forth that followers of Desna pray for their spells for an hour before going to sleep. This is so that they are prepared to hit the road bright and early when they wake up.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
*fist bump*
*Goes in for a high five and awkwardly grabs your fist bump and shakes it. Looks around and walks away*
In most games I play everyone at one point or another during the night takes watch, that is when I usually have mine pray/meditate. Unless they are on a solo watch, then it would need to happen first thing in the morning.

15 feet down from the curtained enterence is a second opening that extends north.
I'm confused. Is this "second opening that extends north" in the room where the undead are? Is there a second opening in the hallway we're currently in not marked on the map? is the opening to the mines that I have going east on the map incorrect? Something else?
GM RelicBlackOUT |
Going down the west hallway of the intersection there are a total of 3 openings.
50 feet down to the north is the curtained off room where you currently are. 5 feet beyond that to the south is the large set of stone double doors that are shut. 5 feet beyond that to the north is the last opening, this one is the opening of a mining vein that is covered in spider webs. So the map is looking good, you just need one more entry that goes north 15 feet west from the room you are currently encountering the zombie and skeleton.
Brunner Hammerfell |
in game:
Brunner is currently standing in the entry of this room, after taking 1 damage he looks up and the skeleton and zombie start to come to life.
Brunner it is still your turn to do finish what you wanted to do.
Are you saying to finish the suprise round or to start the first round?
Brunner's action in the suprise round was to move into the room, toward the skeleton, so he could attack first round.
Scarlet Blood |
Yeah. It is really annoying. I've had the "maintenance" screen pop up so many times on me.
Dalron Northfield |
Scarlet if you could add the holy symbol to the loot sheet
"holy symbol of Torag made out of some unique looking metal."
Thank you
And how did you make the sheet?
I could use it for a different game.

Just got up and I'm reading posts, I will cook supper and be back shortly to post in game.
Stoked about the "dwarven warhammer." I didn't see an Exotic weapon with that name.. So, I'm assuming that mathematically it's just a MW Warhammer and not an exotic weapon.

Being a dwarf you would have Proficiency with this weapon.

Added Holy Symbol of Torag to Loot sheet.
As for how I created the Google Spreadsheet.
When in the Folder I wanted to create the sheet, I simply Right Clicked on mouse in blank spot in Folder. Gives you an option for Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. The Google Sheets is the spreadsheet. It creates and saves the spreadsheet to my Google Drive.
You then have to go through the process of getting a Shared Link for others to view/edit it.
Dalron Northfield |
Umm yaaa, non-computer person scratching his head..;o)
I looked in the Ultimate equipment and there is nothing there about a dwarven warhammer only warhammer or dwarven waraxe or dwarven urgrosh. Might be a D&D 3.5 item

@Dalron
Setup a Google Account if you don't have one already. Then access Google Drive and link your account if you haven't already done this.
Then there is a My Drive tab on the page with an drop down arrow.
Click on that arrow.
Select New Folder options giving a name to it.
Then double click that new Folder to open up.
You then right click on the open space that will pop up.
Select Google Sheets which will open up the Spread Sheet app.
You can start to work on the spreadsheet that way. {The Sheet AutoSaves}
You can rename the spread sheet by selecting the default name in the upper left side.
There is a blue "Share" button on the top right that can give you a url link to copy/paste to others or put on header of your game.

Hey are any of you folks d20 modern fans? 'Twisted Earth' is starting a Darwin's world game and were looking for players. He's posted a players guide on line, that I can send you the link to, if your interested.
Brunner Hammerfell |
Ok, wanted to throw this up in discussion.
Are we planning on leaving them in the mine?
Brunner would rather they leave the mine, since it's dwarven and especially now that they've found a temple of Torag in it.
I don't want to say that he will insist they leave at 'weapon point' but now that the door is open, he would think they should go.
Dalron, what do you feel was promised and would anyone mind if Brunner insists they leave?
Lanliss Endarro |
Seeing as how I was expecting we would kill them all, I'm not entirely against them just being kicked out. However, our objective is to have them cease their attacks on the town. Even if we kill their "dragon," making them homeless seems like it might give them another reason to pillage from the town of Barrow's Edge.
Also, there's a part of Lanliss that's wondering why it's okay to kick them out when the dwarves aren't inhabiting it.
Dalron Northfield |
Dalron rather just kill them all but his talk with Brunner he is holding back trying something different. Besides the deal is for only a change in leadership that Dalron had agreed to, not where or for how long that leadership will be. Besides with the found temple, the Dwarf in town would most likely want the mine reclaimed and cleared.
Scarlet Blood |
Scarlet would not be opposed to double crossing them after they get rid of the current leadership. He however will draw the line of killing non-combatants which there seems to be a few.
Lanliss Endarro |
We've easily come out on top of every goblin-related encounter we've had so far. After we've killed the "dragon," we can tell them that they need to stop attacking the town and travelers around the town, or we'll be back to punish them.
