You move on around the circle, and come to a door on the 'outer' side. It has no signs of traps, so you open it. A plush, human-sized bed stands in this chamber, along with a table holding a bone scroll tube and jars filled with eyeballs, claws, and teeth. Various automaton parts lie scattered around. When you look around more carefully, you find a piece of parchment containing a magic symbol, similar to an arcane mark, which is labelled in a language you don't know.
You check on the door on the other side of the hall, and find a staircase going up. You climb the stairs, and find a locked door at the top.
"Shall we knock?" Yroh murmurs quietly from the back.

Ahraq steps to the side to allow Raga and Khana access to the door. "Ladies, if you would, please," he whispers, gesturing to the lock.

Hold your horses, let me take a look around.
Elado looks over the arcane materials.
Elado casts Detect Magic from his cantrip list to explore for a round or two. For the arcane symbol he'll cast Read Magic from his wayfinder ioun stone combo.
spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Elado finds that the symbol is clearly magical, but doesn't match up with anything he knows about yet. It clearly only works in the presence of something else magical that he does not have right now.
I'm waiting for a bit more clarity on how you are approaching this, either for one of the disable device trained characters to try, or for more agreement to Yroh's suggestion.

"Let's do both." the kitsune replies quietly. "Try to unlock it, then knock on it to get the attention of whoever may be in there. Then kick the door into their face."

Khāṇa was only waiting for Eladro to finish doing whatever it is he's doing. As soon as he declares he is, she moves in and sets to work.
Disable Device, Inspired: 1d20 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 9 + (6) = 16 I can disable magical traps.
Khāṇa is shrewd enough to try smudging the symbol in a subtle and directed manner so as to render it a completely different symbol rather than simply trying to smudge it into incoherence, thus preventing what might have otherwise turned out rather badly.
Is the "Preview" button not working for anyone else?

preview is busted for me in all games
Elado pockets the arcane symbol for now and follows behind the trap-disablers and sword-swingers. Nothing much here but this may be useful later.

Broken for me, too

GM Redelia |

Khana unlocks the door. I'm redirecting your DD roll there, since I think the two strands of what people were doing confused you.
You then knock on the door, and hear heavy steps coming to open in. "What is it now, you stupid little green runts! I told you to leave me alone. If you're not here for a good reason, I'm going to make you eat purple cheese for the next week!"

Being an underground dungeon situation, are there vines...plants of some kind we've been seeing around?
Considering the possibilities, Baku whispers "He's not expecting to see us for one. For two, he doesn't expect the door to be unlocked. If we open it, he'd be doubly surprised, yes? I suggest we quickly prepare ourselves and shove the door open wide! If we stay out here, I may be able to anchor whatever is in there in place."
If there are plants of any kind, Baku would like to cast Entangle inside the room. The goal would be to center it towards the back end (since I can see now. :-) ) to keep the effect contained inside the room.

"We are explorers of ancient ruins, blessed by the snows." Yroh answers, a chill aura emanating forth.
Bless cast for the imminent battle. :)

"...it's not easy, being cheesy..." "We're your new minions, since runts ran away. Enemy loot will be our pay!"
If the party wants to go negotiation route, it won't hurt our chances, either?
Bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

"Exaaaactly. What she said," Ahraq says with his most charming smile, while hooking his thumb back toward Raga.
Aid Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Guys, we already have a surprise round. :P

GM Redelia |

"New minions, eh? OK, I want you to go down to the den of that ***** wizard Karklosh and squish him. Then he will stop bossing us around. You look like you could fit in at the town, so you may come and go as needed to be prepared. And next time you come up here, knock properly and then wait."
He then turns and walks away from you, expecting you to obey.
It's up to you guys if you want to still attack him, or to be done with this level. You have technically been successful at this encounter already, but I won't give you any grief if you feel like fighting. Just let me know so I can finish up your chronicles if we are done.

"As you command." Yroh responds, turning to look at his allies for assent.

Raga nods quietly then looks to the rest of the party. Bugbears are usually irrational and murderous, from the little bit I've heard about them. That he's willing to talk might mean he can be spared the executioner's axe for today!
I'm okay with not fighting the guy!

'Well that was unexpected' considers Baku as he silently follows his companions back out.
Fine with me
