Alexis sidles across the way, double-checks that her crossbow is loaded, and tries something new: As she chants Ancient Words Of Power in such a manner that she seems to be somehow speaking over herself, an infinitesimally-slender line of utter blackness emerges between the fallen knight and The Shining Knight, finally extending to about the height of the latter - and in the blink of an eye, he is sucked into nothingness!
At the same time, a similarly-dimensioned line of blinding white light has been emerging across the room a short distance behind the graveknight - and it spits The Shining Knight back out! My first-ever Heaven's Leap Hex, everyone! Hope you enjoyed your trip, Shiny!

Yes, Ting does so I'll wait for him
Whoo - black hole, white hole wormhole action - without the spaghettification :)

I was picturing that part too, actually.

Thank you. So how many HP was ting healed? I see, like, three different numbers.
Finding himself wounded and conscious on the ground ting gathers his weapon and his wits about him. Hearing Syllyn song he stands, lifting his exotic bastard sword and striking at the undead Samurai. Stepping back, ing hopes of forcing the undead from the wall so they could get behind it.
- 3 str, shaken -2 everything Bless +1 raging song, move action: stand up, Attack +1 Bastard sword, PA/FF, St 5 ft step
attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 15 damage: 1d10 + 1 + 5 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 5 + 6 + 2 = 20 Swing and a miss.
Since he was unconscious and healed is he still shaken?

The Dark Knight goes for the Shining Knight. If the first shot fells TSK, the second strikes goes to Ting.
+1 frost katana: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 16 - 2 = 30 damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 cold: 1d6 ⇒ 3
+1 frost katana: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 11 - 2 = 11 damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 cold: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Everyone is up.

On the map both TSK and ting are 5 ft from the dark knight, it he stepping between them so as to give them both flank?

TSK falls down again (-1) so there's no flank.

TSK falls down again (-1) so there's no flank.
Is that factoring in Therin's latest Channel to heal? I mean, I'm not saying such a buffoonish scene is inappropriate for The Shining Knight...

Yes it did

With your permission, I moved the undead to where it could have attacked both TSK and ting, then moved ting back his 5 ft at the end of his attack.
Seeing 'shiny' fall ting blurts out, "Oy, bloody well leaves 'im alone.". Lifting his exotic bastard sword ting strikes repeatedly at the undead Samurai, then steps back..
- 3 str, shaken -2 everything Bless +1raging song Full Attack +1 Bastard sword, PA/FF, St 5 ft step

attack: confirm crit.: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 - 2 + 1 = 12 damage: 1d10 + 1 + 4 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 4 + 6 + 2 = 18
Well hopefully 38 will do the trick

That is enough to down the graveknight antipaladin. You recover her +1 lamellar (steel) armor, +1 katana, mwk naginata, mwk wakizashi, and 130 gp. You also find a searing arrow, an aegis of recovery and an immovable rod.
With the threats removed, you can all catch your breath and heal up. Baldrum returns, after a while, bearing more treasure, a restorative ointment.
You can also perform proper funeral rites on the undead samurai, by cremation, and put the ashes in a funeral jar to be returned to her descendants or to the Ossuaries of the Fallen.
Once you return to Uscalin Lodge, Venture-Captain Shevar Besnik asks you about your adventure. After you recount the events, he remarks what a wonderful chronicle this will make once he’s heard back from his other teams, who are also investigating passages from the tome.
I knew you would triumph! Just goes to show I picked the right Pathfinders to seek out adventure while unknown dangers lurked. There could have been almost anything there! Go and rest while I put our report together for the Ten. Surely, this addition to the Chronicles will put Uscalin Lodge on the map.
Though I may joke about the crusaders, they play a vital part in the service of good. You, too, have done important work today. You have removed a pressing danger and helped the spirit of an ancient hero find rest. Well done, Pathfinders. I hope you are as proud of yourselves as I am of you.
And that concludes this adventure. You gain both prestige points. Chronicles will be posted in the next few days.

Syllyn also thinks it will make a good story, though he is considering making it into a comedic ballad concerning the overlap of bravery and foolishness.
"I do hope we all meet again on another mission. This was quite entertaining, notwithstanding the peril. But I guess every mission has peril, doesn't it?"
Syllyn also questions Besnik on the cultural fare available. Syllyn is a connoisseur of anything cultural, in particular food.

"I am so sorry for leaving you in the middle of the battle! I do not know why I was overcome with such fear, but I suspect one of these creatures must have used powerful magic... I am glad y'all survived!"
Baldrum looks at his feet, clearly embarressed. A few seconds later his face lights up and he presents the ointment.
"But look what I found on my way back: More treasure!"

![]() |

"Nice! But what is it?"

![]() |

"Well...I am not sure. I didn't take the time to try to identify it yet, I was trying to run back to you to help. But it is definitively magical."

![]() |

"I'll check"
spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
"No clue. We can have it checked out after mission debriefing."

While Syllyn and Therin fumble with the treasure, Therin suddenly feels something crawling up his back, and catches only a glimpse of gems and metal before IT snatches the items from his hands and scuttles across the floor with a furious metallic clicking sound...!
...finally running over to Alexis, climbing up her, and dropping the items into her care before clicking itself back into place around her neck.

![]() |

"Gee, it's never done that before!" Alexis says as she stares at the loot. "Well, if anyone can be trusted with delicate and powerful antiquities, it is the Palatine Eye."
"Syllyn? I think you may be interested in some of the hypotheses I've formed as to the nature of that 'Kilroy', especially if you mean to take the lead in penning our Chronicle: If my calculations are correct, we should all be very glad I left him there...."

![]() |

"Oh, really? I have been feeling guilty about leaving it there. It was very irresponsible of us."
